Join us on weekly walking, cycling or snowshoeing adventures in the mountains of the Alps, the Dolomites or sometimes further afield. We try to avoid the more popular destinations for the quiet and lesser known.
Every Friday 17:00h CET there will be a new adventure...unless it rained on the weekend and we didn't bother to leave the house.
We have normal daytime jobs so this is just a hobby. We avoid social media and we certainly do not want to influence anybody.

Lago delle Stellune, 2100m, Lagorai mountains, Italy
This was one of those eerie days turned yellow by Sahara sands blown in from the south. This year, a lot of our glaciers are covered in a yellow dusting because of this. Photos and videos look a bit strange. It's not an artsy look, it's the sand. The Lagorai mountains are just a stone's throw away from the popular dolomites, yet they are not very often visited and you usually have the paths all to yourself. This was a long bike and hike trail around the lake. Unless you can ride your bike to the Malga Cazzorga we do not recommend the walk. It would simply be too long. The bike ride is very technical and steep so be sure you are fine with rough off-road cycling.

This was a scorcher: 30°C even above 1000m in the Alps near Salzburg, Austria. Our original plan had included an additional 500m climb in the sun to the top of Egelseehörndl at 1782m. This is an epic rough road at nearly 2000m of altitude between the peaks of Friuli, Northern Italy. We recommend mountainbikes, but you should be fine on a gravel bike with at least 38mm tyres. Here we rode the mystical Monte Zoncolan. We were on ebikes. Do NOT go on a normal bike. It will be absolute torture. If you have ebikes and you go up twice, like we did, you will probably run out of battery. If you are in the region, we would recommend riding on the neighbour mountain. A dream ride up the Stelvio with snow. This circuit is 63km with 1920m of ascent. The pass opened very late this year because of the avalanche risk. The Giro stage had to be cancelled...what a bummer. So we decided to ride it ourselves once it was open. We have done it before...it never disappoints. We had one day without rain in June and used it well. This was a stunning cycling tour to Hallstatt with beautiful views of Hallstätter See and Wolfgangsee. We have not been able to do much recently because of flooding, landslides and washed away infrastructure in our region. A public safety alert was issued on June 3rd, so we stayed put. These are some impressions of the last days. We are ok, but lots of people aren't and we wish everyone well.

This is one of our favourite walks: it starts with a 20 minute ride in a single chair lift (Kaiserlift), which makes it very quiet and relaxing. This is one of our favourite rides. It starts in Sterzing (Vipiteno), up to Jaufenpass (Passo Giovo, 2094m), down the other side into St. Leonhard (San Leonardo in Passiria), and back up. It gets very busy with traffic in summer, but this time of year is still very enjoyable, and the snow makes it look even more epic.

Above 2000m there is still some snow. At this time of the year we are taking our inflatable minimalist snow shoes because they are light and don't take up any room in the rucksacks. Largoz is an easy summit with excellent views.

Thank you! It usually takes us around 4 hours. For this ride we had a few breaks for the videos, so it was probably 5hrs.
