Egelseealm, Austrian Alps bike and hike

This was a scorcher: 30°C even above 1000m in the Alps near Salzburg, Austria. Our original plan had included an additional 500m climb in the sun to the top of Egelseehörndl at 1782m. However, after spending 10 minutes in the lovely shade of Egelseealm we decided that enough was enough and turned around. We are not known for heroic endeavours...about 20% of our walks end in a change of plan (read: chicken out).
I call them failed tours, Joseph calls them approaches. Anyway, it is a beautiful part of the world and we are lucky to have this on our doorstep, so we can return any time.
