UP-VOTE THIS TIP SO EVERYONE CAN SEE: If you have gotten to Volcano Manor later in the game and are trying to find Patches at "Scenic Isle" he won't be there, he will be in the hallway sitting down to the North of the Volcano Manor grace. He will have a quest to go invade someone at the "Magma Wyrm" grace SW of the "Lift of Dectus" (up high on the scaffolding underneath the mountain.) You'll get some decent armor from that quest as well, but yeah, if you can't find him he may be in this area. Good-luck!

Dude thank you for mentioning this spot. You don't need to use the silver fowl foot thought just the silver scarab works great their drip rates for fowl foot seem pretty high. In a little under 10 min I got 30 fowl feet. Each run got me 1-2.
Ah yes the silver scarab talisman that gives you a whooping 75 point boost to discovery Wich somehow only moderately increases item drop rates but yeah if anyone knows the location of the gold scarab talisman can you give me a location video about it or if there's already a video giving the location of it just respond with the link to said video thanks
If you ‘accidentally’ kill Patches he will drop an item ‘ball bearing’ - give it to the two maiden husk shopkeepers at round table and they will stock all the stuff Patches used to sell in a separate ‘buy’ option in their dialogue. Same as the majority of vendors out in the game world if you kill them. Mentioned in the video around 4:47

For the bird farm head down into Siofra river and run to the Below the Well grace at the far end, there are 6 birds right next to the grace. If you use Hoarfrost Stomp which can be grabbed near Caria Manor you can blast through them to get feet and feathers super fast. It took very little time to max out feathers for arrows and you get plenty of feet on the way.
Ventured a little too far forward and patches left the cave. I was feeling robbed of my pickled foul foot now that I couldn’t find him. Everything I could find to read up on said I would find him somewhere in a lava area way further in the game. Your guide led me right to him! I no longer feel jaded and grinding is productive. Thank you so much!

This is awesome for farming the golden foot. The only thing I would add as a precursor is that there are three rows fruit bushes on the way to the bird farm, and five on the way to the firefly farm ( three easy ones towards the farm, two right behind the spawn) and these might offset the need to farm the fruit at all.
Wow, a guide that actually shows the map AND sites of grace! Very rare. Nearly every Elden Ring guide on youtube only shows the gameplay and, for some reason, they decide the audience doesn't want to see or doesn't need to see the map/grace-sites. Don't believe me? Try finding a youtube video, or even any guide online, that shows you where to find the ulcerated tree spirit in an encampment within the Altus Plateau. You can't because it doesn't exist. I found this mini-boss once, couldn't beat it, and decided I would show up later when I leveled up some. The only problem was that I didn't put a boss marker on the map so I forgot where it was. Np right? Can just google. Wrong. The wiki just says "located in altus plateau" (big help LOL), and the one youtube video I found of the fight they did not open the map once or include any information on its location within the description, so I had to guess myself based solely on how it looked on where to find it. So thanks for including the map and sites of grace, that alone makes this video a gold standard of guides because people who make Elden Ring guides seem to spitefully leave that extremely necessary information out.
4:55 Incase he's not there AND you did not kill him you'll likely find him inside Volcano Manor ((AFTER)) you join them by talking to their leader. Be sure to rest at the site of grace to refresh the area. 9:35 Try this spot! The first spot drop chance is basically zero.

Nice! For the Four-toes I personally use the "Impassable Great Bridge" grace, in south Caelid, it has 3 penguins right beside the grace. So I kill them with bow, and rest right there without even needed Torrent lol it is so fast. But I agree with your spot for early players, since reaching Caelid can be very dangerous.

Iv recently purchased elden ring. Iv had a blast. Iv been discouraged i got around level 30. And now I feel I can't do anything but die. I found your videos. They are really helping me get back on track. Very helpful and easy to follow. So I appreciate the time you have taken to make these.
Something I'd like to note: it appears that using these increases the spawn rate of golden-eyed enemies, which give about 4x as many runes as a regular enemy. Tested this in the farming spot by the Palace Ledge site of grace, and I got at least three instances of the loot bird giving me 83k runes (I'm using the Golden Scarab on top of the Fowl Foot) instead of the usual 11k.
Great guide; however, Patches is not on the hill in the lake (second spot) as you suggested. I met Patches well after I explored much of the map. There must be another location for him now.
Patches can be also found at Volcano Manor after he drops you from the ledge on Mt.Gelmir . You probably know that already but someone who doesn't might see this comment

For the invader that comes at you, just in case anyone wants to know that's the first step to Yura's quest line. Yura is the guy that spawns and helps you.
It takes about 15 seconds and he will spawn either where the Red Finger spawns or behind you in the ravine, before the tunnel entrance. It's automatic and happened for me every time I went there the first time.
*GLINSTONE ARC* does not Spook nearby Birds, Also the Glinstone Arc can kill MULTIPLE BIRDS AT A TIME with 1 spell cast (2-3 birds, Any birds in the arc’s path).

For anyone that went a bit too far like me without buying the recipe , you have to go to the first mt gelmir campsite at the Altus plateau , then past the tower behind the rocks you can find him , speak to him and go check all the rocks on the cliff edges , he’ll push you down and you’ll have to kill a few things , once done follow the path north west to a grace , once you have the grace go back to the mt gelmir grace and see patches again , then after that go to the volcano manor by going to the ninth mt gelmir campsite and running past the boss there , inside go and get the grace , exhaust dialogue with the woman and go upstairs to fight an invasion , once done go downstairs to the grace at pass time to next morning , and if you go near the entrance you’ll find patches selling his stuff
Also to help with finding more four toed fowl foots you can use the silver scarab which increases item discovery, I was having trouble at first but this really helped get more quickly
If it wont let you buy the second missionary cookbook, kill Patches at the island, turn in the bell bearing at the round table place, and buy the second cookbook at Church of Ellah

You should really add that once at the 4th Temple people should take a slight detour to go pick up the lantarn... it's a game changer over the darned torch as you don't have to carry it in your hands freeing you up to keep holding your weapons instead of a stick that's on fire. :p
He is always spot on because he makes it clear where he is by zooming in/out so if u haven’t been there you can still locate. Probably best detailed vids out there for elden ring😎
It’s actually EXTREMELY quicker if you just simply target lock a bird, and quickly flick to the next target with your analog stick or mouse, after you release your arrow. As soon as the arrow is released, you’re 9/10 times guaranteed a kill. So, essentially, as fast as you can get off a shot and flick to the next target, the faster you can farm. Hope this helps at least one person who is getting tired of manual aiming lol. But overall, great guide! Just wanted to clarify that one thing for people 🙌🏼
Really love how you show where things can be found. Anyone pissing and moaning about the length of the video needs to learn how to use the time shift bar. The indexed / chapter info in the video showing the topics covered at which times is a wonderful tool...so the tools complaining need to figure out how to use RUclips better.
Extremely useful and so easy to follow thank you so much. But I found a rowa fruit farm along the way to getting the firefly's, id he willing to show/tell you all 10 locations of them, it makes for some real efficiency
South from the Gold Fireflys' farming spot, there are 5 birds. We can also farm these for Four-Toed Flow Feet. Anyway, we have to de-aggro the enemies to open the map.
In my game, the invader killed the golden helper, so I wouldn't recommend sitting out of the fight entirely. Luckily the golden helper still reappeared as an alive NPC afterwards.

Just want to mention, locking onto the birds is faster than manually aiming. You can also do it while on horseback.

It's 17k with foot and scarab.. But it never happened to me that the bird gave me more gold than that...

Best way of getting fowl foots is use the Starscourge Greatsword special grab power if done right you won't scare any of the birds away

An FYI, at the area with the gold fireflys... There is an invisible scarab, look for a white powder by the squid balls and listen for the ringing

Great informative video. It's actually better to use the time spent gathering ingredients to just farm runes.
I did this guide at like level 111 or something and I did a jump attack with double uchikatanas and one hit him. Lol
if you run away to the grace while the dragon dies and rest at the grace the dragon will not die and you get the runes
I already figured this out by myself but, for me after I let him live he spawned in valcano mannor just so you know spawn locations vary

For the invader that comes at you, just in case anyone wants to know that's the first step to Yura's quest line. Yura is the guy that spawns and helps you.

“The golden AI“ never did show up to help me… So I just keep getting killed by that red figured phantom
It takes about 15 seconds and he will spawn either where the Red Finger spawns or behind you in the ravine, before the tunnel entrance. It's automatic and happened for me every time I went there the first time.

He does actually spawn for me but always after I die to the red figure. No matter how long I last in the fight he only spawns after i die.
*GLINSTONE ARC* does not Spook nearby Birds, Also the Glinstone Arc can kill MULTIPLE BIRDS AT A TIME with 1 spell cast (2-3 birds, Any birds in the arc’s path).
what if the npc is not in the cave, he has moved with the book needed. where does he pop up next ?.

@@Mirages_Decoy hes in the valcano area, down one of the main halls. kill all merchants and then you can find all there gear in the round with the twin sister. that means all stuff in one easy place.

For anyone that went a bit too far like me without buying the recipe , you have to go to the first mt gelmir campsite at the Altus plateau , then past the tower behind the rocks you can find him , speak to him and go check all the rocks on the cliff edges , he’ll push you down and you’ll have to kill a few things , once done follow the path north west to a grace , once you have the grace go back to the mt gelmir grace and see patches again , then after that go to the volcano manor by going to the ninth mt gelmir campsite and running past the boss there , inside go and get the grace , exhaust dialogue with the woman and go upstairs to fight an invasion , once done go downstairs to the grace at pass time to next morning , and if you go near the entrance you’ll find patches selling his stuff
Also to help with finding more four toed fowl foots you can use the silver scarab which increases item discovery, I was having trouble at first but this really helped get more quickly
Found Patches at Volcano Manor in the hall after joining then resting at grace.

If it wont let you buy the second missionary cookbook, kill Patches at the island, turn in the bell bearing at the round table place, and buy the second cookbook at Church of Ellah

This is a great guide but I wish it had chapter select to skip to the part you need, I only needed the farming spots
a warning about the looting of the chest a 2nd time woulda been a nice thing to say...
You should really add that once at the 4th Temple people should take a slight detour to go pick up the lantarn... it's a game changer over the darned torch as you don't have to carry it in your hands freeing you up to keep holding your weapons instead of a stick that's on fire. :p

It’s actually EXTREMELY quicker if you just simply target lock a bird, and quickly flick to the next target with your analog stick or mouse, after you release your arrow. As soon as the arrow is released, you’re 9/10 times guaranteed a kill. So, essentially, as fast as you can get off a shot and flick to the next target, the faster you can farm. Hope this helps at least one person who is getting tired of manual aiming lol. But overall, great guide! Just wanted to clarify that one thing for people 🙌🏼

Anyone pissing and moaning about the length of the video needs to learn how to use the time shift bar. The indexed / chapter info in the video showing the topics covered at which times is a wonderful tool...so the tools complaining need to figure out how to use RUclips better.

Extremely useful and so easy to follow thank you so much. But I found a rowa fruit farm along the way to getting the firefly's, id he willing to show/tell you all 10 locations of them, it makes for some real efficiency
South from the Gold Fireflys' farming spot, there are 5 birds. We can also farm these for Four-Toed Flow Feet. Anyway, we have to de-aggro the enemies to open the map.

In my game, the invader killed the golden helper, so I wouldn't recommend sitting out of the fight entirely. Luckily the golden helper still reappeared as an alive NPC afterwards.
