"Logic is the reason that it is a sticking point." Classic.

Emily, this is the 21st century. Let's have a little equality. James, you forgot to mention that if you go 2 times in a row and the seat is left up in between that's 2 less touches overall. Makes your logic that much more overwhelming.

ok, this is the logical reason why emily is absolutely right. consider the anatomy of the female vs. male parts. now, consider the differences in toilet-related actions between males vs. females. it is much more important for a woman's hands to be clean than it is for a man's hands to be clean, and infections can occur much more easily in females than in males. it would be unreasonable to expect a woman to wash her hands twice in the bathroom (before and after), whereas a guy doesn't have to.

The toilet seat is for comfort and sanitation. Leave the seat down at all time unless you're cleaning the toilet. You want to pee standing up, get a urinal. The ONE exception is morning wood, then it's excusable to lift the seat if need be, but you're washing your hands after anyway, so just tap that seat and drop it.
    And I'm a guy.

    A few things...
    1. Why would the woman be washing her hands twice? Everybody washes after they are finished. Where does this twice come from?
    2. bacteria really doesn't survive on toilet seats, it's inhospitable. Also, your genitals are far dirtier (this is at home after all, not a public place) than the toilet will be.
    3. More importantly, Emily in the video contained no logic in it at all. She didn't really have an argument actually so I don't see how your comment is the reason she's right.

Take the seat down as a sign of love. 2 seconds for good karma. FTW!

There's a new product that actually solves the problem of leaving the seat up. Just tip the seat and let it drop, gravity does all the work. Check out Drop-a-Seat cushions, a product that will fix having to grab and bend over to put the seat down.

it does. think about anatomical differences and causes of infection. and the fact that women wipe after they pee while men do not. and the fact that UTIs are much more common in women than men.

I have to agree with James on this one... but I am also guy so...

Her argument was absolutely incoherent and nonsensical.
I listened to it and still don't understand what her argument is.
Maybe you need to work on logic, lady.

Lol c'mon emily is it really going to kill you to raise the seat up when you're finished?? It's all about compromise. He's willing to meet you halfway so y not do the same?

How many times do men fall in the toilet when we go number 2 we don't we put the lid down why can't girls do it too much paying attention or something lack of paying attention

  • @rumspringaa

If a girl sat down without assessing the position of the seat, she could potentially fall through! That's not attractive.

no. people shower daily and toilet seats generally aren't washed daily. it's the difference between something that's left covered all day to something that's open. and i just said she was right about men putting the seat down, i didn't say her reasons were right. also your condescension ("maybe you need to work on logic, lady") reeks of bitterness and just a hint of misogyny. maybe you need to work on being more polite. i'm done here, i'd rather not waste more time arguing about toilet seats.
