Very logical solution to the problem except for one thing. "Lid down and flush" needs to be swapped around as most people like to check that the flush worked properly and that no embarrasssing evidence was left behind. Problem is that while the flush is completing you have moved on to washing hands and forget to go back to complete lid duties.

I grew up with only using a simple toilet with no lid or anything, it's just a toilet seat and it's normal for us since most people here have that toilet, if you have the kind of toilet with a lid it's considered fancy. So when I heard about people in the internet having an argument about the lid of the toilet I was so confused about what it was all about. So I searched it up and saw this and I'm still confused. Like what's the point?
The only disagreements I have is that when you flush it sucks waste down so I wouldn't expect the toilet to "cough" germs. And the bottom of the seat is much dirtier then the bottom of the lid. And that's from female sitting down when they use the bathroom. I think it's really unfair that as men we have to touch the dirtiest part of the toilet and possibly transfer germs to our genitals just to use the bathroom. In my opinion all toilet seats should be spring loaded to be in the up position at all times It's the most sanitary way for all parties. And women should wipe the bottom of the seat if they get something on it. And as long as you clean your toilet regularly it will not look dirty

It is a lot easier for a woman to tap the seat and let it fall into place than it is for a man, especially if he is tall, to bend down and lift it up. Perhaps men give women more credit than they deserve. We thought that you were capable of checking before you sit. We check before we pee. At least those of us who are not barbarians check first. Forget that, how about the situation where there is no lid, just a seat that needs to come up if a guy needs to pee but stays down for women? Men need to lift it to pee and put it back down when finished but women never want to touch it at all so insist men do all the lifting and lowering.

It's not confusing at all. Men need the sit up or down depending on what they'll go for next (Number 1 or 2). Women ALWAYS need the sit down. An example is a wife that wants to be "Considerate" of her husband's needs and leaves the toilet seat up, but then the husband comes and needs to take a sht, so he now has to put the seat down, so her being "considerate" actually became an inconvenience for him. So women shouldn't worry about it at all because they can't know anyway what he'll go for next, while men should always make sure the sit is down after usage.
