Mike, I feel your pain. Useless lack of full instructions with the Homebase seat - or rather, worse than useless, because some of the info was downright misleading. But fortunately this video has made it all clear.

I've got to agree with Brittany, in the absence of any written and pictorial instructions in the box, it could've been so much more confusing and long-winded with out this helpful video.
The instructions were bloody useless. Can't get the nut as my toilet is built in hope some fudging and superglue holds it in place. Sort your instructions out homebase!!

That mounting nut thingy is useless when the rod your screwing the nut up the rod to the toilet bowl when the screw is 4-5 inches long. The lid also squeaks🙄🙄🙄
I think I will go back to the original method...I'll just go up to Lowe's or Home Depot. You shouldn't have to consult a video to install a toilet seat. Took me longer to figure out how to adjust it than it did to install the toilet and I'm 70 years old. It's also overpriced by about 30%.
I agree. I like the idea of this toilet seat, but getting it adjusted and installed was a nightmare. For one thing, this Sanilo seat has more hardware than necessary. I wish it had had the hardware of the seat I was replacing - the old one was super easy to get on and off, and I didn’t need any instructions for it, much less had to hunt down a video to figure it out. But the worst part was, once I got this new Sanilo seat on, I saw the pattern on the lid was crooked and doesn’t line up with the same pattern on the seat. (I got the pattern that looks like distressed wood strips stained in rainbow colors.) so it looks like the lid is on crooked when it’s not. That’s going to drive me crazy every time I see it. I expected better for $60. I regret trying to go for something more fun and interesting. I never had these issues with cheap solid white toilet seats. I guess some things really are better just staying basic.
If anything, I watched the video to build confidence to install. Video didn't help much but installation was successful. Feels solid and secure. Got the lion print. Love it! 🎉
This is not helpful. Once you have aligned the seat with the bowl, you have to remove it to tighten up the screw. The whole assembly moves out of position when you remove the seat and the alignment is gone.

I managed to find a technique which turned it into the worlds toughest dextirity game.. You saved me from launching the new toilet seat out the front door with a string of expletives.
Very easy to install. I watched the video a couple of times, to understand the process, then installed the seat in about 5 minutes. The bolts are twice as long as necessary, so it takes longer to tighten the nuts on them. But they, and the washers, hold much more firmly than the plastic screws on my previous (dollar-store) toilet-seat.
My hinge broke when it slipped out of my hand, I glued it together but it isn't a slow closing style I wanted. Now I have to go shopping for a different hinge. I tried to contact Sanilo company to see if I could order another hinge, but their contact on the web isn't working.
those fittings don't just drop easily into the fitting holes of the toilet. They don't even fit when you try to squash them in. The major work when fitting a new toilet seat is getting the old one off. They've often been on for years and the fittings can be set and stiff so you need pliers to loosen them. I hate it when videos make stuff look easy when in fact, its a dirty nightmare with 20 years of faeces stuck in certain holes and hinges
I bought my seat from Amazon and the mounting material was not in a plastic bag. The long screws and it’s components were flopping around the box that was wrapped.

Excellent. Same fitting as B&Q Good Home Pilica. Instructions that came with it were useless. Couldn’t have done it without this video
This has the same fixtures as a Homebase seat I’ve just fitted. The instructions in the box were rubbish, but this helped a lot 😊

This toilt seat is junk. They dont show the tiny additional screws in hinges. We could not install was waste of money.

Omg this was so complicated. I am sending it back to Amazon. I watched the video numerous times and could only get one hinge to line up.

Why has mine supplied with rawl plugs. That do nothing. 1 bolt always slides.
What if the front bumpers aren't sitting flush to the toilet? No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get it to lay flat.

Tip oil your Screws before fitting,
