    man.. im a professional animator.. I cant get my clipstudio to do anything you are doing in my ipad.. My layer section is stuck at Animation Cell mode.. I cant see it as layers nothing happens when I create a new layer folder. I cant see multiple images in a row top to bottom like yours, like photoshop. On the timeline i have my animation cells. And layers section(That doesnt say layers but its on the right of the screen but where your tab says Layers mine says Animation Cell) just shows whataever drawing is on the that frame..

    That whole bit about creating frames as layers and folders for each frames to do sort of layering... That's why I never understood people who do animation in photoshop. It so quickly becomes such a jumbled mess of layers and folders and frames.
    It's also one of the many reasons I love Krita. In it each layer can be an animation layer. And a layer can contain hundreds of frames. So much simpler.
    Ok, I think Krita isn't available on iPads... But I refuse to pay money to apple hardware anyways, so I don't see that as a problem. :)

    • @NihongoGamer
      @NihongoGamer  3 года назад +1

      Definitely check out some of the simple animation walkthroughs on Doki Doki Drawing. The Pro animator usually shows every step of his process and if u draw the frames in the right order they should maintain a more consistent size

    More frames = Smoother animation?

    • @NihongoGamer
      @NihongoGamer  4 года назад +1

      Yeah I’m gonna ask the pro animator about it at Doki Doki. I think the style he helped me do was to avoid drawing many frames but I’ll see if we can add frames without needing to start over

    • @jmalmsten
      @jmalmsten 4 года назад

      To butt in in the discussion (I am not a pro by any means, just an enthusiastic amateur like many others who thinks way too much about these things, so with a grain of salt, read the following diatribe): :)
      more frames over the same duration, yes, that is potentially smoother animation. 4 frames per second vs 24 drawn correctly would be extremely different in smoothness.
      The thing is, though. If you do full 1 drawing per playback frame, you need to be VERY careful about the motion between frames. You can very easily end up with stuff that looks more like jiggly jello. Or the dreaded "line boiling" where the lines move around erratically destroying the smooth intent.
      And even if you do go for full smooth one's (as in not doubling any drawings between frames), and you do get the motion technically correct... You still need to ask yourself what is the best for the intended impact. Because I often see stuff like in works by Rintaro or Katsuhiro Otomo where the fps is almost always maxed at 24fps. But even more in american 2D. Some actions ends up becoming sort of over-acted. Loosing the intended subtlety. It emphasizes any misjudged timing in the acting.
      And that is why I do gravitate towards japanese style. They know how to do as much as possible with as few frames as they can get away with (because of budget constraints but still wanting it to look as good as possible). The drawings per seconds often fluctuating wildly between less than 1 per second to full 24 when needed.
      But to return to overacting in 24fps. If it's choppy the brain will fill in what happened inbetween. And you can help it out with strategic smear frames. And lastly but not least. Comedy works great in low fps. I think that since choppy playback feels a bit cheaper, we can accept it more in comedy. Reminding us of childlike flipbooks. And it feels like you are watching something simpler and more personal than a super polished Disney animation.
      Tldr:
      For the intended purpose... The choppy playback of this coffee grinder snippet sells the intended fun and creative mood that a follow-notification needs
