Love your channel @JasonWorks. You have reignited my passion for metal working and introduced me to the world of Coin Ring making. Your videos are very well put together and you definitely have a knack for teaching. A lot of RUclipsrs and people in general, have a hard time trying to convey what they are trying to show people. You dont have that problem. I watched 1 video and was able to make a ring with only the tools that I have at the house. I didn't have to buy special tools. So once I saw what I could do with the "wrong" Tools I immediately made a list and have started purchasing the correct tools to make these absolutely gorgeous rings. Thank you for taking the time to record, edit and post all your videos. This doesn't go unnoticed and I'm very appreciative of both the knowledge & hard work/time you out into your channel. I'm sure that all of your Sub's feel the exact same way that I do. Thanks again.
Jason I watched you when you 1st put your tools and rings on here..I wish this grandmother bought it back then..lol you have made some amazing rings young man..
Use to have about a bunch of gold eagles. Always loved the design. This young man really enhances eagles by antiquing. Waiting on a silver Morgan dollar ring. Maybe this one is next.
Jason is amazing! If you are serious about getting into making coin rings his products will save you a lot of time and shorten your learning curve. He has precision tools that are amazing!! Bar None

Just received the Starter Kit I ordered from Rio Grande. Rio Grande had them on back order for weeks, maybe longer. The kit is better than expected. It was worth the wait.
Where did you get those sanding sponges? I would like to get those for my own jewelry making. I enjoyed your video very much and thank you for sharing!❤
These are actually nail sanding blocks :) The best ones are from Sally's beauty supply. The fine blocks with the grey and white sides are the best from Sally's as there are imitations out there.
I know this was 5 years ago you might read it. I found you on the shotgun Channel with Jeff my phone won't print that name out because I speak my comment but you know what I'm talking about I'm sure. I seem to be getting more and more interested in making these rings I mean this was pretty quick I know you took the annealing part out but still this was pretty fast at making a ring. If I keep watching these things I'm sure I'm going to get hooked. Thanks for the video have a great day and stay safe. PS I did contact you one time about making me a ring in exchange for some silver coin but you never got back with me which makes me think that you probably won't even read this but if you do again thanks and have a great day!
Jason, can you recommend a re-reader for a coin ring on the edge side of the coin. I think that the readers that they have now I don’t like the way they look. So I was wondering if a better free reader was on the way
Thanks for tutorial. Would this kit suffice using Australian coinage? It’s my understanding, if it fits , then it works! Also . I have a silver Montreal 1976 - Olympic Commemorative coin and ask you whether this coin could make a special coin ring?
I have silver rings that have a patina on them, and in order to polish them up to a shine I typically use a piece of leather. It will put a mirror shine on silver. And if I have to redo my patina I have a small detail paint brush and are use bead buddy patina solution. It’s real simple and you can get it at Joannes fabrics. Learned how to do this after I get distracted while cleaning my ring and it removed all the patina.
JASON..does the brass reproduction Morgan hobo coins fold ok in the dies??...iv done silver and clad with your dies and all tools got from you are EXCELLENT ...Thanks Ron Hughes in Kentucky..
Herb sloan Been making coins now for about one month I really enjoy it some thing I can do is it oh man I have the Swedish wrap I have everything I think except an automatic punch I love it
I've had Black Max on the shelf for a long time... But a couple months ago I just used a cotton swab to apply on the outside of the coin ring... I don't rinse off. I just buff it to a shine and enough where some highlights start showing (NO Steel Wool)... Then let dry for a day and a light sanding block to make the highlights show through more, and then a light renaissance wax... The Morgan I've been wearing has kept it's patina for 2 months now with a strong coat. I tried the LOS way with BM, but the patina faded in days. I'm also experimenting as I go.
Think you for the info on your tool. I am looking for a tool to put a dome in a silver round, 1oz and 1/2 oz., I engrave fire arms, money clips and other items, as a hobby. All the best
very cool set a friend is doing rings they look so cool and look fun to make wish I was able to make some would be fun to make and give some away to some great kids. thanks for the vidoe god bless
Is there a universal kit that can do any size coins and how much does the kit cost? Very cool hobby, can you market the end product or custom made only?
I have a question, I purchased some Silver Dollars from the Temu website is it my imagination or are they almost impossible to fold in order to make a ring? I broke the first three I tried and this one just isn’t working well. Are they not silver coins? Let me know what you know or find out thank you very much. Ed
Hi jasoni i was wondering if you still had the starter kits available, the link below your video is showing the starter kit as being sold so i thought I would come straight to the man and inquire. thanks jason, Bryan
I'm very impressed! Thank you Jason for a great video. I retired 2 years ago after 40 years as a tool & die maker with GE. Your tools look excellent and I have your basic set on my wish list. Keep up the great work. I also have a question about coins. Are there any recommendations you or others have for outlets to buy the coins? Thanks again!
Iv purchased the 17 and 25% for quarters now in want to get new dies for half dollar and dollar. I have two questions. Which dies should I get and can I pay Hal in credit card and half in gift card ?
Where can I bye a good silver dollar to make a coin ring , I have contacted Etsy is that OK . I have made a few coin rings but not silver dollar. Can you give me a suggestion.
Hey Jason, I see your tools are now on RioGrande.com and don't see much on etsy any longer. I'm guessing you had to basically close your etsy business to get their account?
funny... If you type Jasonsworks into Etsy search, you only get about a half dozen items. Then if you click on your name on any of those items, everything comes up. You'd figure the search would work a bit better.
Do you have a chart that you normally send with this beginner set that dictates the best size hole to punch out based upon a ring size you’re going for?
I was going to buy a starter kit but it appears it's all been broken into smaller packages so if I get everything I need to do a starter coin from this video its almost 2k. Unless I'm missing something it appears this kit no longer exisits.
ive heard to coat the inside with nail polish remover periodically. if the quarter is made of silver (older quarters) you dont have to worry about it turning green
Welcome back! I was starting to get worried that you'd retired on us. How do you deal with the ridge at the edge of some coins? Most of them aren't too bad but once in a while you get a coin with a VERY high ridge around the edge that makes it hard to get the ring in balance......
I file the high ridge off with a flat file before I roll or fold the coin 🪙. Also this takes some of the strength out of the ridge because it is thicker then the center of the coin. Also it makes them easier to wear because it is smoother.
Just wanted to ask do you still sell the starter kit that you show in this video I went to your site but don't see it also how much is the kit ??? Thank you very much :-)
Thank you for the comment. Here is a link to my site. The prices range as you can get single tools or kits. The larger the kit, the more savings you'll have. So you can build up your tools slowly as you get better making the rings or go all in. Thank you!
It's not a starter kit, it doesn't include the press, nor the burner. I would call it a pre-starter kit. Otherwise great job Jason, keep up the good work.
Really nice job on that coin ring
Thank you Rob!
Wonderful presentation!

Hi Jason, at 1:41 in the video, prior to annealing, you use a pair of flat tongs/pliers to hold the coin. Where do I find a tool like that?

This may be a stupid question but here it goes. My ring stretcher die reducer does about a size 10. Can you find a larder reducer die for it?
I found that a chain saw file works great for filing on the edge of coin rings.
Thank you for a nice explanation, you just earned another subscriber
does heating then quenching make it harder, like a chisel. Would letting it cool slowly in atmosphere anneal better?
non ferrous metals don't harden like steel
