- “Get off of the fence and just do it,” she says. “Everybody comes into it with different weaknesses and strengths, and if you can’t do a pull-up, then you come in and do what you can do and grow into it.”
Masters athlete Marcia Walker didn’t think she would qualify for the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games.
“I have really had so much to work on and felt so insecure about what I could do,” Walker says. “I have just worked hard at doing what I can.”
After a 10-year hiatus from the competition floor, the 66-year-old not only qualified for her second Games appearance but also placed 7th overall in the Women’s 65+ division with five top-10 event finishes.
The CrossFit advocate and enthusiast has a message for anyone reluctant to try the sport.
“Get off of the fence and just do it,” she says. “Everybody comes into it with different weaknesses and strengths, and if you can’t do a pull-up, then you come in and do what you can do and grow into it.”

i see this and have to smile because now i know that i can really push the limits the next 20 years until reaching 66years and still be able to do this sport.
You’ll need PEDs too. She’s obviously not natural.

I thought the exact same thing, especially as this is my aunt! I am proud!
@@Literatunnat really 👍
As a Personal Trainer its nice to see someone a little older succeed and enjoy fitness. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!
I agree
My daughter is and a fitness trainer.I think this lady will be another inspiration to her. I am 77 and do little except walk. Go Marcia.
Good on you Marcia Walker. Your an inspiration to us seniors !!!...🙏
Thanks for watching, Scott! Have you seen this video of Pauline Sciascia, a 65-year-old athlete? ruclips.net/video/kavSaZ1o-hY/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Who in their right mind would "thumbs down" this video? Idiots! These athletes are SO INSPIRING!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉
I was thinking the same thing
Obese 20-somethings
No one did that
@@malley4747obviously someone did.
So inspiring ❤❤❤❤
So inspiring!
She is absolutely beautiful! Very motivating.
She is just WOWWWWWWWWW
Love this
She: I’m 66 and feel like 30!
Me: I’m 31 and feel like 40 😂
She has a body any college athlete would be proud of.
Love it - inspirational
FANTASTIC, CONGRATULATIONS.
amazing
Its better to work smarter than harder, especially when you get older.
Very inspiring
She proves that we don t depend on hormones, but on our will.
She has fantastic arms.
LOVE THAT
Espectacular. Demostración de que la edad solo es un número
0:50 👀👀👀💪nothing is 👻 impossible
Wow this woman looks wonderful and here I am sitting on the couch too lazy to move
👏👏👏
То что сидит на ,,витаминах,,видно,но почему бы и нет?Если человек не хочет увядать?
So you can look that good at that age, if you workout, she doesn't just like ok or nice for her age, she looks phenomenal. Awesome.
Yes. She has an amazing physique. No crepey- like skin like you’d usually see in someone her age. I would guess she’s been extremely athletic her whole life. Her delts tho!!! 👏🏽👏🏽
@@carebearboo4247 And her traps.
I'm just behind her and have been working out, body building, power lifting, dancing professionally (theatrical and Afrikan), sports... since I was 19. I can say with a certainty that "looking like that" being able to do what she does at 66 doesn't happen in three months or a year... To look like that at 66 you had to have looked like that at 36. It's not impossible, just really improbable and difficult (to sustain). So start now... There's no such thing as impossible or can't. Just do something and do it often and well. Check our 84 year old Ernestine Shepherd.
@@tiwantiwaabibiman2603 that’s awesome! I agree she must have been super athletic her entire life. I’m only 25, been weight training for 5 years now. Lord willing I will keep it up till I’m physically unable to go. Lol. I strive to be like Ernestine if I make it to her age!! She’s extremely strong too for anyone, regardless of her age, period! I think it’s so important to stay moving. Once you stop it’s so hard to get moving again. I agree consistency is totally key. 👏🏽
She is a huge motivation for everybody. She does not look like 60
I admire her so much😊
As an almost 60 yr old female, who has always been active, this is so reassuring. I have had to adapt workouts for the last few years due to arthritis and a knee injury, thinking I have passed my prime. This awesome woman gives me hope and encouragement that I can get back in shape, or at least try. She’s amazing! 😊
“Show up, have fun, don’t get hurt”
Precisely!
Now I'm 51 and I'm so exciting to know 10 years later whether I will feel the same "thirties-forties" feelings as her....
you can do it
This is soo awesome!! Truly motivating and inspiring!! 🔥
I’ve just turned 60 and started Cross Fit 8 Months ago. I love the sport, how my body is getting stronger. Still got a long way to go. Nice to know that I have many years left in me to get better and keep going. Thanks for the inspiration. You are truly amazing and a role model.
Welcome to the CrossFit community!
Thank you for the inspiration
Way to go fit sister. I'm right behind you. Keep getting after it!
I'm 62 and I really like the challenge of doing Crossfit workouts. Of course, I have to scale most of the workouts because of physical limitations, but it's still very satisfying to know that I am doing what I can do.
For anyone sitting on the couch, saying I will start tomorrow. Please start today. This amazing woman is showing what is it possible.
This pure golden dust!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼 want to be like her when 60
I'm 62 yr old 100% disabled vetetan. I had a hip replacement then six months later a quadruple bypass.
I have been exercising, hiking and eating organic whole foods for 10 years. I didn't let those two major surgeries stop me. I am back hiking eight weeks post open heart surgery as of today, to include weight lifting, swimming. Lost 25 more pounds. I have snow white hair and am in better shape than most people half my age. Move it or lose it! The stronger you are as you age, the longer you live an active joyful life.
It was my years of exercise and fitness that prevented me from having heart damage during my Myocardial Infarction leading to my bypass.
Just amazing god bless her 🤲🏻💪🏻
Who the hell would give this video a thumbs down?! She's inspiring and amazing!!
No one gave a thumbs down
Not much attention is given to the “masters”…
This is wonderful, love her attitude
First of all her body looks better and healthier than the bodies of many women in their 30s and 40s. Of course we don't know her genetic heritage and how she lived when she was younger although it does seem that she had not to fight obesity. What I love is her sense for reality knowing well that she is aging. Age is not only a number. It is a reality we have to face. I höre we can do that with grace.
love this!!! I want to start crossfit. I am 55 female. but I am crazy nervous
I am 48 and it's time to learn to do the backflip !!!! And More !!
I hope myself still doing what we all love when I reach that age.....commendable to compete and showing that strength
"Nothing gets old, but your clothes" age is just a number. She looks great!
That's wrong, everyone grows old and no workouts or diets is gonna reverse that.
I don’t think his point was that you literally never get old. You can maintain a level of strength and vitality at any age. Of course laziness and excuses usually win
@@DanIel-fl1vc exactly! These people that either are just healthy or have aged gracefully have no clue what it’s like to get older and to get sick. Nothing gets old, but your clothes is simply Ridiculous, totally out of touch or trying to be clever, NOT, lol.
@@bane2256 no bane not all of us can keep health or vitality with age tell that to all the Sick older people. We get old we get more pain, we get sick and we die.
@@miamoore1666 I obviously wasn't referring to those that have an illness, use some common sense. Aging is only 20% genetic, the rest is up to you. Search David Sinclair, his information may be valuable to you.
I love that she is talking about still getting PR's. I am 62 and I was worried about when it would slow down, so I guess I have a few more good years in me. Great job getting to the Games Marcia!
Keep pushing, Kristina!
@@CrossFitGamesTV Thanks! I will and maybe when I am 66 you'll be making a video about me at the Games. :)
What does PR mean?
@@philiciabernard PR means Personal Record...or some people call it a PB, Personal Best
Whatever your age, fitness is being able to successfully manipulate your body through a wide range of circumstances.
I recently watched a show saying how old people become invisible and receive no respect ...... not if you live and train like Marcia.
It's amazing how HOT women can be regardless of age if they're work out and take care of themselves.
I begining to belive that even gray hair can be controlled front inside If you put enough effort.
75 años tiene ya sientate abuelita no te obsesiones tanto con el ejercicio😅 le ba dar un calambre
Now that’s motivation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
No shortage of nasty comments in here. You can always count on the comment section to bring out the cesspool of life
I’m so happy to see this kind of coverage of the games. Incredibly motivating!!
So inspirational Love this lady 💕 age ain’t nothing but a number but things do change a little . So proud of you 👏 you rock !! 💪
Yeah, right, keep telling yourself this and one day, at 66 get a rotator cuff injury and see how long it takes to recover and compare it to the time you needed when you were 25 and we'll see if age is just a number. By the way, that lady has no business doing olympic lifts at her age, there are ways to be as healthy and strong without putting a 66 year old structure through that risk. As a former personal trainer, sick and tired of how clients are lazy and unfocused, doing something totally different now, I'm only interested in my fitness now, I can tell you that show casting this woman is totally wrong, she's the 1% of the 1 % of the 0.10% out there. I wish I could show you the 50+ crowd that has been totally distroyed by injuries sustained while trying to do what 30 years old are supposed to do, people who thought age was just a number. Go ahead, destroy my comment and tell me I'm a negative loser. One day, in 30 years, you'll remember this comment and will regret trashing it.
@@PhilippeOrlando I agree with you but it is to each their own as well , it is her choice to do what she does with her body ,if she has to pay the price then so be it .just do what you love ❤️ it’s simple . 😊
Inspiring! Love it.
I'm 30 and look like crap compared to this woman. It's nice to see that you can look good even in your 60's. That's inspiration for sure.
Impressive!!!! 👏👏👏
She looks incredible. However, one is only as strong as your joints. I’ve had to lower my weights because my joints can’t take the weight without injury, therefore I cannot improve, only (hopefully) maintain my current level.
You are such an inspiration!! ❤️
lol, those people can't straighten their knees when they run why is that
This lady has been fit all her life. Just kept it up. God bless you.
QUE ENVIDIA.....DE LA BUENA!!
SE REQUIERE DE MUCHA SALUD, CONSTANCIA Y GUSTO POR EL EJERCICIO.
FELICIDADES SEÑORA.
How beautiful is willpower, this video changed my day. Thank you Marcia Walker!
Thank you, this is beautiful in all ways
She looks and is great!!! Right behind her... Y'all check our 84 year old Ernestine Shepherd.
Marcia, Bless of God Jesus ,regards from Perú. I like strong.and cute Marcia.
Freakin' warrior!! Amazing!
I'm 25, feels like 60. I have to move
Not much about how long she has been doing this for or why she started? She has a body most 20-30 years olds would dream of. Her strength many men would desire. Who can pull themselves up a rope? Only a selected few! She thinks her body will give up, don't think so, she will be doing this in her 90's looking at her shape. Reminding me of Johanna Quaas.
Inspirational for younger and all ages... btw.. her records better than Tia, Rich or Matt ... She the real OG
Wow, I love seeing stuff like this, it is so encouraging. I am trying to keep fit and I am knocking on 60's door. I hope I can stay fit and healthy like this lady!!! I would be very proud too. You are a ROCK STAR!!!!
You got this!
¡Increíble mujer! Todo un ejemplo a seguir
85% of the bros that pump up at the gym I left for my ow functional workouts at 67 yrs old..couldn't get up that rope,or do half of this stuff....
As a crossfitter myself (so I started that way), I'm pulling away from the sport more and more with the new ownership, and over esteemed behavior/attitude of many in the sport. It's gotten shi**y under the Rosa. I'll find a new home soon I'm sure.
To the younger generation, TAKE NOTES..
Looking awesome you don't have to be young to be fit an look alive take care 💜✋😊 you look amazing and you remind me of my gym instructor in WA when I met her she was 55 and she had the most amazing body I've ever seen and she was the loveliest person... please don't think I learnt when your body won't let you when your mind won't let you you're an inspiration an someone others can look up to...
Damn, she's built like a freight train. That's what I'm talking about
Wowww Marcia Walker #marciawalker you rock ! You’re my inspiration 💪 I am 52 now I hope I am not to late to start now 🙏😊
all about HGH... at this age with this muscle definition
You are the same age as mom but she has to have 24 hour care because she has Alzheimer’s… most likely brought on by lifestyle… you are an inspiration for me and others!
sometimes I think that it is the only sport that exploits the best of you, no matter how old you are ... you just want to be better every day
My father lifted weights til he was 80, unfortunately he got cancer and then his knee and hip joints needed replacing, so he couldnt do it for few yrs, he started light weights again now and hes 88
Wow, what a great attitude and monumental follow-through! Congratulations on your admirable lifestyle.
Well done to her she is an inspiration to all those who think they need to sit in a care home !
I begining to belive that even gray hair can be controlled front inside If you put enough effort.
You are a wonderful example for us older people, thank you.
Meravigliosa ,sei grande esempio
Tanta stima per te!
Being older is an advantage. It is easier to be fit when you are young.
I’m 34 and she’s way healthier and fit than me! I need to get in shape, man.
