I could predict bad things happening when Magnus played the move I was thinking of.
😂
Hahahaha
to be fair though e4 is played in a lot of games...
😂
lol
"The Two Towers stacked, Tolkien would be proud" 😂 made me giggle. Cheers mate
Haha Thanks a lot glad you’re enjoying!

you ment, check mate
Chess rule 101: “Castle your king for safety.”
Magnus: Heyyyy I’m too cool for that
😂😂😂😂
And bless him for being him as him does he makes us all happy cos he knows he tries and fails and we still gr8ful he is here what a gr8 time to fail! Next time he will have two Queens against and still that smile, Ya. Bless all the players fail to win.

@@psijicassassin7166 What the hell is this stupid wrong spam?
Proof that , in chess, we all take a beating from time to time...
I'm an exception: in my case I get a respite once in a long while.
Magnus's beads ran out of batteries this time.
but to put himself in a hole that early, and then to make a couple more yikes moves not many moves later?
it's like if peak wayne gretzky had tripped on his own skates and gone head-first into the net, three times on one game. lol
That Nepo face must become a meme. It's too good.
if it wasnt an act, yes, but it was unnatural, then no.
Carlson played the lazy man’s variation. I know, because that’s the variation I play. 😂
Carlson😂😂
Loser😂
Magnus's beads ran out of batteries this time.
Who is Carlson? Never heard of him. Is he really good
@@wnd9434 Carlson. A man who lives on a rooftop.
So much goodness in this game. My top 3:
3. Magnus losing because of a dubious opening.
2. Rapport's brilliancy followed by Nepo's face
1. Prawn to sea ships!
When Rapport is not in Ennuyè he is dangerous

Richard is always a dangerous chess player.
Magnus's beads ran out of batteries this time.
So.. full disclosure; my absolute favorite player in modern chess is Praggnanandhaa! But 9 out 10 times; there's really only one of two ways to beat Magnus, he must blunder significantly or play dubious openings out of boredom 🙃
I think in the tata steel Anish beat him without Magnus doing either of these things.
@@HelloWorld12347 Indeed, I was being hyperbolic of course
Magnus's beads ran out of batteries this time.
Rapport is one of my favourite players, in a similar mould to Dubov and Firouzja, and even Niemann on his day (boo, hiss). Perhaps no coincidence that Rapport and Dubov have both been recruited by Magnus in the past for his WC preparations, Magnus obviously sees something in their play that he feels he lacks himself.
They play with more intuition and flair than say a Caruana or a Giri
You should rethink those tabloid-style headlines.
Magnus's beads ran out of batteries this time.
It got me to click on it.
not a shock, Rapport is formidable and not as predictable as many
Magnus's beads ran out of batteries this time.
i love Rapport playstyle so much
Nepo reminds me of 90's Dan Akroyd 😂
Magnus Rick rolled
Never gonna give you up.. Never gonna let you down 😭😂

Rd1 was a serious mistake. Back to the basics Magnus. Rapport had one more imortal game for his collection. Well done!🎉
"...the two towers stacked, Tolkien would be proud" made me a subscriber ;) Good show.
haha thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed and cheers for the sub!
I swear super GM's always have the best faces😁
Rapport playing well is always great to see! Great commentary
“The silicone overlord sees all” 😂😂😂
I appreciate your going a little slower like you did in this video. Much easier for older people like me to follow. :-) Just love your videos.
The song in Nepo's head "Do you see what I seeeeeee? A star! A star!"
His mother passed away recently. He is obviously still recovering. We should not create news from this misfortune. It is appropriate to give him time to recover and come back to his true strength.
Nobody forced him to play
@@WhrsTheMoneyLabowski no one has said "aww, give him this point because of his condition", rather "do not be deceived with the perfomance"
@@avimir8805 Saying not to create news of such a big upset is ignorant. If he's too deep in his mourning to play well, he should take time off, its his fault if he gets destroyed, regardless of the justification. That's the point they made: he chose to be in this losing position.
@@RigRacersthen it won't upset you if somebody said he's lost due to grief. Smh
Why is he gay though?
Every day I watch your videos before going to bed, love from Italy ❤
oh cool thanks a lot for tuning in each night! Great hearing from people

I feel like Richard Rapport is an extremely underrated super GM; that man has uncorked some shit that left me speechless throughout his career.
Also, I feel like Magnus castles later or not at all far more than anyone else; I'd love to see analysis on that, if it's true or not.
"Is he a super grandmaster, or a very naughty boy?" Hahaha
Gukesh is standing in the corner, watching the game from afar, sobbing
Ding and rapport
The look on Nepo's face. Priceless!
He's thinking... this is the man who crushed my soul & he's fucked off this game that badly
3:56 Rapaport picked up the triple gun in Contra.
Beautiful ... And Nepo eyes rolling ... Priceless

@@psijicassassin7166 you keep commenting this everywhere, didn't your "I'm really pathetic" senses trigger after the second one?
It's good to see a fellow Hungarian player in theese tournaments and videos.
Nepo's face on a Magnus offnight gonna be a chessworld meme! 😂
You may be a little preoccupied too if your Mom died recently
If it’s affecting his play he shouldn’t be playing in all fairness to his opposition. It’s like playing a game of football with a torn hamstring - that’s not the opponents fault.
Talent is as helpful in athletics as it once was. Need your mind sharp in a pro leagues now. Esp with big money involved.
Then by your logic he shouldn't have crushed Minh Le 20.5-3.5 in Speed Chess Championship. Richard Rapport played brilliantly in the game and Magnus played dubiously in the opening, that's it. You should give the credit where it is due.
Why bring negativity, just enjoy the epic cheese
@@OvereasyeggsoeeI see an understanding of simple analogies escapes you.

I'm new to the space but your commentary has to be among the best, if not the best, in chess.
Thanks very much glad you’re enjoying!
7:40 Actually, Nepo's reaction was later in the game on the move Qb2. You can actually see the board and the queen.
“Prawn?” lol
If Alireza can lose in 9 moves, why can’t Maggy lose in 23?
Similiar humiliating feeling probably

Magnus got Steam-Rolled 🥴
Dude looks absolutely unfazed from being annihilated 😂😂
Richard Rapport is in my oppinion one of the most creative players in modern Chess. However his skill varies strongly depending on his mood during the day. I watched quite a few of his tournamebts online since the Superbet Romania 2023. On a good day he could win a title match against every top player, but on a bad day he tends to blunder alot. If he gets more consistent, i think he has the potential to become champion someday
me: **just trying to follow along**
stockfish: **apparently has pooed its pants**
me: wait did he just say that stockfish pooed its pants
Haha
Damn - this game has an absolute minefield of tactics.
5:57 had me dying bro look at the co-commentator
He played like Fischer
Nepo with the Goblin Chess bug-eyes, but he’s not even hamming it up for the thumbnail 😳
"Much to the dismay of Ben Finegold" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was my expression when I seen his haircut, he in the Russian mob now?
Someone threw water on magnesium
Thats just as much fun as pouring sugar in your neighbors gas tank
Magnesium Carlsen. Am I literally the first to say it?
That double exclamation mark is a very rare thing :D
Brilliant game for Rapport, goes to show why he is a super gm!
He's human, after all 😂

im so glad that ive found this chess channel, 10/10 commentary + 10/10 presentation :D
The silicon overlord sees all. 4:28
Now that's a marvelous step by step commentator!
Thanks a lot!
Quite literally Magnus vs Stockfish 😂
I saw this Nepo reaction to a different game...
Magnus would have had a fine game had he just castled when he had the opportunity.
magnus was trolling hard in this one, castling was obviously essential at some point but he still continued attacking
yay caro kann LOOKS like rapport really made a report on beating the biking magnus carlsen hazzah!
did i hear the word "overpowered move " for a chess game ? lol
I have very little knowledge of chess but really enjoyed the way you explained what happened and how, good job!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks a lot
The Rook needed to be lifted to the second rank
Bro, I’m shit at chess and somehow the way you presented this made me watch til the end. Well done 😂

@@epicchess2021 yeahhhh and its quite amazing with everything, sports for example I played professional handball, and people (youngsters) seeing our trainings were always amazed by speed, strenght and shooting especially. But here its potented by million-also I had no idea they are studying chess all the time and learn offense, defense
Manga Carlõz ate the wrong noodles before this one
Nepo’s ridiculous mugging for the camera at Magnus’s expense.
Sometime we all need a kick in the rear to recalibrate our efforts
The man that made Ding world champion. He`s a crazy tactical genius.
_"The silicon overlord sees it all!"_ 😂
the issue with e5 is NOT the king nonsense you said, the issue is the permanent d pawn isolani black gets when he is not even that ahead in development. a permanent weakness for only slight activity is rarely a good idea, with white you can sometimes get away with it because in those lines you get fast piece activity to land the isolani, with black its dangerous.
A masterpiece by rapport
I immediately saw Q-b5 - truly, watching this channel has made me a super GM 💯
3:09 wow indeed epic line
You should struggle (use more time) when you try to play against a prevailing strategy like castling early, otherwise the strategy would have been discarded, which is not (yet) the case. There was also a positional struggle towards the end, but OVERWHELMED seems to be a more suitable word than DESTROYED ;) Really a natural and expected outcome when you don't castle when you should imo
Great match, thanks mate.
Magnus's beads ran out of batteries this time.
what a delightful game! What does "all roads lead to asana" mean? What is asana?
"All roads lead to Astana" is what he said. The tournament is being played in Astana, Kazakhstan.
That was a crazy attack, great analysis by the way
Thanks a lot glad you’re enjoying!
At 7:18 I was thinking Rook E3, Q F3, Kn G2 check and Kn E3
@7:40 white's queen is on f2 in that clip, not f3... position looks similar but it's different. I've seen this "reaction" in a video showing Magnus playing against a 12-year-old Indian player (I think)
I like the part where stockfish pooped its pants
0:15 lmao 😂
Beautiful game nicely analyzed. Chess not only hurts like hell, it is elegant as heaven as well.
Someone tell this guy its called a pawn not a prawn!😂
My chess coach lied to me then all these years :(
Does 12:30 suggest Nepo and Haik got so distracted by Magnus-Rapport that Haik's clock just ran down and they agreed to a draw? 😅
Very impressive commentary. I only retained "Magnus goes down".
it happens to all of us, that this happened to a man so mighty shows us our own flaws need not lead us to abandon, but to challenge us to move forward regardless. It's a game we win or lose do not lose touch with that fact; its a game not a country V country or your house versus mine, unless you be the fool to gamble upon it.
7:40 thats not the move nepp reacted to. OBVIOUSLY!!
