Please watch: "Cabin Brothers Mini-teaser" • Cabin Brothers Mini-te... -~- Goodness Gracious! Great Balls of Fire! How to make fire with Ren 'The Rengineer' Gomes!
This is badass. Huge Halloween fan here and every year I go all out. I’ll have to try and safely emulate this but on a ridiculously larger scale! Thank you for the idea!
Of course you find it ready. I've had one of these vapor things since I was a child, we bought it in a store that sold fountains. But the effect wasn't supposed to be fire, it was a vapor waterfall, so the vapor went down and dissipated before reaching de floor, and the lights used were blue.
i think Ren is my favorite from the show for just knowing how to do everything. i guess that describes everyone on the show though. so theyre all my favorite./
It's a great looking effect, but needs a few more details if we're to reproduce it. Container size? Looks like a Lock n' Lock, maybe around 3 gallon comparing to the paint can. The leak-proof lid is critical, I'm sure. Also, that looks like a 3-head ionizer/mist maker/pond fogger, rather than the standard inexpensive type (look at the number of little round things on the top, cheap ionizer only has one). I'm not sure if the cheap ones will put out enough volume of fog/mist, unless maybe you use more than one (still cheaper than buying a multi-head mister). Great inspiration, but there's more to this than it seems. A parts list would have been great.
The fogger is also made out of metal and is powered by electricity! The lamps are not even close to the water. Electricity is not dangerous in anyway if you know how to isolate it. Read a little about Tesla’s work and you’ll probably see electricity in a whole new way. 😉
@@MrSitonmyfacebook I've stuck my tongue across 12V, it's not that dangerous. Don't use a cheap wall wart, use a UL listed power supply. Don't need GFCI unless you're in the water with it.
is there by any chance you can show me a link to get those halogen bulbs and the cords to plug them up? trying to make something similar to this for my living room fireplace.
water vapor + electricity... It DO look REALLY cool, but I'm not sure that it is safe since the lamps are REALLY hot, so I don't know what can be used to isolate the lamp sockets from the water?
Can i ask how much would that cost and how to make one that is cool as this..i mean those hallogen bulb or apart from the paint can and the plastic container im not seeing those in hardware stores here.
Cannot find the Orange bulbs. Some have orange reflectors but shine bright white. The sonic ionizers show a single ceramic disk for ten to fifteen dollars. The ionizers with three or more cost $90 and up.
hey Daniel, I'm trying to recreate hell for a stage skit, if i were to build a rectangle box with lots of orange halogen lights in it and use a fog machine for smoke, do you think it would have a similar effect to what you have??
You can sub in LED lights. They get plenty hot and nebulizers are pretty cool for making the smoky look. Still way better than a real campfire that chokes my backyard and me with smoke so bad I dump a bucket of water on it an go back inside.
I like it. Except for the whirring sound---where does that come from, it doesn't seem to be going when the lights are turned out. Seems like a great way to get fire indoors, into that classic fire trap called a Tiki Hut, if the halogens don't overheat or end up in the water when you're not watching...
tried to do it with sunlite halogen bulbs, ended up with pretty much bad effect... what kind of halogens are you using?? any link to share where you got it from?
Mina! I'm hoping this will help! I found another RUclips post from Jaz Creations who were doing the same thing. They used a yellow bulb and said the best kind of halogen to use was a " 12v 20w MR16 Coloured - Yellow " I found the yellow on Amazon here amzn.to/2gOxaAm (and if you want orange, it's at: amzn.to/2gTKJkT). : Hope it helps!
@@Killer-Spirit-Gaming Yes, you are correct. The ultrasonic disc creates the fog. But the halogen bulb will provide the heat necessary to make that fog rise. Otherwise it will simply drift down like a waterfall, and not look like smoke.
Panic! At the Understuck Gravity Fall out awesome :D i would love to combine in my mage armor, what is also possible is using LEDS and a smoke machine only sadly those are difficult to build into your costume
This is awesome but is the device producing a whining sound? Or is it quiet? I agree the jazzy music in the background is unnecessary but thanks for putting this together.
Nice, what color are the bulbs? Red yellow and orange? The vapor get in the paint bucket by holes in the bottom of the bucket right? Nice. Some people see metal water and plastic and think OMG but they need to learn a little bit more how things work. Example an in line watter electric water heaters for shower, metal water and electricity, Do you get shocked if you touch it or shower with the water getting heated with electricity? Duhhhhhhh see no problem. And if there were to be a short it would blow the breaker.
3 years later, hopefully I can answer: in short, no, or if it does, it will be extremely quiet. This is essentially a humidifier. The most would be water quietly splashing on itself. (my work has a few similar to these as centerpieces for the restaurant, just on a larger scale. I'm here mostly to see specifics. I'll probably try something on my own, but a bit more... well. Let's say "nicer" looking.)
Very cool but it looks like it would be very expensive, and the part you said we had to make from scratch, without detailed instructions on how to make that component what's the point of this video?
Please give step by step instructions so I can make one to use as a photography prop. I can use it in so many ways and will be 150% better than trying to figure out the correct lighting before adding the fake fire overlay in Photoshop. Please, please, step by step.

Andrew Loisel These are more often referred to as humidifiers, vaporizers or foggers - I've bought several off eBay for my pond for less than $5 each and they work really well so long as the water level remains fairly constant - the only drawback really is they don't come supplied with the 24 volt transformer you need and these are a bit harder to come by than say a 12 volt power supply. Many of them also have leds built in, tho you could easily cover up the colors you didn't want with some electrical tape or something then they'd work fine for this project (which I'm gong to try myself just as soon as I fish mine out of the pond;) . pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=351127425403&globalID=EBAY-AU

I'm with the professionals who have commented here. Electricity, heat emitting halogen bulbs, metal paint can and water are a plan for disaster! LED light bulbs projected at a properly built water deionizer with a fan can create a relatively safer set up. I say relative as it is always possible in a dark setting that people or pets around holiday decorations. Accidents can happen.
The big advantage of using hallogen instead of a blowing fan, is that the fire is more realistic 'slowly' moving. Most of these are made with led light (safer) but then a fan is needed to blow the waterdamp out. With a fan it flows too fast. The heat of the hallogen makes the air go up. Good idea. Just costs a lot more electricity :)
My homes fireplace is outdated. This is the perfect gadget to bring back that awesome look. Without spending a huge chunk of $$$.
