Use the Gap & Cracks or the Big Gap ...Don't use the Walls and Window can it doesn't harden like the Gap & Cracks or Big Gap....
I am so glad I can't go to jail for Stealing on RUclips, because I'm so going to STEAL this idea for my new house on Halloween. Awesome video 🤪🤙
Sammy that’s why we post them.. lol.. it looks great at night ..have fun
great stuff Fireblock foam is orange, makes a better base, dry brush black paint on for better contrast when lit
You’re funny I love that he tested your smoke detector and it works great funny made me laugh
It was a 2 in one project...lol... build a nice project and test the smoke detector is actually work. Enjoy your day.
I made it! It’s cool! I would add the foam did expand UP more after few hours. Shake the can well before you start! Have a long stick to push in the lights and make a small ice cream 🍦 cone to get them to stay out, not inward under the cauldron.
Jody, Awesome to here u made it and u like it. Thanks for adding your tips for anyone wanting to give this a try. Thanks for watching the video also. Hope u have an awesome day and Halloween.
Jody, if u don't mind sharing how it turned out with me on messenger that would be great. Thanks. Do u do a lot of Halloween projects?
Looks good. I just put a sting of red lights on the lawn in a circular pile and put the cauldron on top. It looks like embers without all the work and expense and breathing in paint fumes in an enclosed room.
I would think red twinkling lights? Outdoor ones? I like simple!!!
6:57 sweet!!! Lol! Yeah you don’t have to paint it but during the day people come it might not look as cool so doing a faux painting look nice for you for us that are viewing it during the daytime.
Jody u are correct, plus it does help visually while lit at night allowing the light to come through better in some areas.
This is my favorite video of how to make this! Thank!
u are very welcome, really looks awesome in the dark.
Mark Dohring I wanted to update you on the use of your method for foam coals. I did that for Halloween and it was a great success! I also used purple lights and foam for in the cauldron and it looked pretty cool! I hope you have a great end of the year and holidays!
@@barbaraness4507 that was an awesome idea with the purple lights... great addition... may have to do another video and try that and mention u
My God, man, you're in a small space working with flammables. I see a map-gas or propane torch on your desktop and spray foam and other flammables, all right, by a water heater. I know what can happen; it happened to me when I was a kid; the gas laid low hit the pilot light, and things blew up in my face, my hair cut on fire, and my eyebrows were singed. I'm not saying this to put you down. I'm saying this to make sure you're safe. Please use caution. I realize this post was made five years ago, but it's never too late to warn people.
2$3! I made mine, I covered the lights with plastic, then applied the foam. That way I was able to remove the foam and use the lights again.
Smart idea..
Plastic wrap?
This was the first video I found on this and this looks like fun! I'm going to try it this Halloween 😄 Thank you!
Felicia thanks for watching and I would love to know how it turns out for u, please let me know. Have a great day.
Great Holloween prop...Orange and yellow paint help too
This one shows the orange lights better than most people who build this prop. you need to find a larger cauldron. there's a plastic one one size up. I got mine on sale at a Party store. the sticks are a nice addition tothe prop. Happy ToT!
Thank u it was a fun project to build ..
Really looks great. Add a fog machine and it'd be perfect.
+Ralph Macey u r correct .. or dry ice
@@MarksWorld-GetOutdoors if your cauldron is water tight.. us an led ultrasonic fogger, cheap on ebay... creates light and fog drifting around inside. They have multi color models.
Such a great job!!!! I have to try this. Thanks for sharing!
U r very welcome... if u don’t mind let me know how it turns out
Lol tested my smoke detector, that works great! You are too funny! I liked the video immediately!
Thank u Renee it works so well and looks realistic when it’s outside with a couple skeletons warming themselves around it .
And I forgot to thank u for taking the time to watch the video ... much appreciated, have an awesome day!
Put some red, orange and blue lights inside the kettle, and then mount some red, yellow, orange, and purple scarves, above a fan placed in the bottom of the kettle blowing the scarves.
Next year.
I love this! Way cool! Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely, it was a fun project and easy to do.
So cool Mark! Looks good!
Thank u.. it was fun to build ... and very easy..
5:55 wow very creative you are! An artist 👩🎨
Thanks Jody it was a fun project.
Very cool! Looks like I’m headed to Home Depot!
+Jon Jones No, No, LOWES.... Lol
Met you today! I was buying the 2 skeletons!
Im gonna have to try this, my wife thought this was a great idea too!
Ive never tried any of that spray foam stuff
It was nice to meet u and talking with u about Halloween ideas. Let me know how it turns out and i would really like to see how your skeletons turn out. Really liked the picture of ur tall prop, looked awesome.
Really Great. I will make this. I was looking for a prop for a fire dancing act for the stage. I could also use at Halloween.
That sounds like a great idea. If u have done it, I would love to see pics. Since u can't attach on here, u could send in via messenger on FB, if u wouldn't mind.
@@MarksWorld-GetOutdoors what size cauldron was this…12”?
i did this and it came out AWESOME!!!! thank you
U r welcome .. people really enjoy seeing it during Halloween..
YOU did! Any thing you suggest for making it look more fire, I am doing fire dancing for the stage and its a prop.
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank You👍🏼
What is the size of the plywood base
Adam, that was probably about 24" across, u can make it what ever size u want. If u want to make a really big one, just add more lights and more Great Stuff foam.
Thanks for watching
That is brilliant gives me a idea for using foam as snow thanks mark 👍were the lights red or orange
+Louise Jones orange
Thank you for this video. This actually will help me with other projects as well.
You’re welcome, it was a fun little project that looks great.
Are the sticks and cauldron now mounted into the foam once it dries or can you take them off of the foam?
They r there permanently. U could probably spray silicone on the cauldron before putting the spray foam on there and when it dries I should be able to remove it. The sticks could be placed on too after the spray foam hardens so they could be removed
Perfect, getting this started !!!!
Awesome let me know how it turns out... it looks great at night.
Wow that was nice , awesome job 👍
Mike thanks for the kind words... it was a fun build and got so many comments from individuals that came by the house... I told them to check out my channel if they wanted to build one...LOL...it was like a billboard...Thank you for taking the time to watch and comments, much appreciated.
Where did you get the cauldron? I see them online but at a much higher price. Thank you!
Party city has the 22inch cauldron for 19.99
Add dry ice and it's a win
Just what I was looking for. Thank you a million times over.
I just got back from Fred Meyer with canned foam and orange LED lights! Now I need a cauldron.
awesome let me know how it turns out.
This really looks great I just wanted to ask you how wide and long is the wood you are drilling the caldrin in to?
20” across, but u can make it any size u want. I didn’t need to add sticks but I think it enhanced the look a little.
Excellent 👍
Many thanks
Such a cool add on to the original campfire . NICE! Love it
Thanks Nina .. it really turned out nice !
I’m going to try to make this ! 🎃
Awesome let me know how it turns out
Any other suggestions for a larger fire look, that you learned by doing this? To make it look bigger fire on a stage?
Did you figure it out? This Halloween I’m making a fire mountain about 4 ft tall and I’m trying to figure out how to make the form to put the foam on.
Why does the final diy fire in red lights looks different than the ending of the show? What paint and/or lights were used?
a question i have is what if a bulb on the light strand goes out or a section of it? normally when its a section its just a fuse but if its a single or a couple of bulbs then would you have to break the foam to get to it or would it just not be a worry 🤔
I used led lights and I’m not going to worry about it .. but haven’t had any burn out yet ... many hours of run time. I think u could cut out the foam and redo that section.
Try using a long extension on screwgun
I’m going to try and make this with a 22inch caldron. How big does the board have to be to go around it.
What ever size u want ... bigger the more coals it looks like u have ...
How many lights did you use? 100, 200 or 300?
100 lights
If you put a atomiser in the bucket it would look like it’s boiling
Yes .. I ended up doing that on Halloween night it was cool
Awesome!!!
Please mention what that foam spray is called? Moreover, is there any substitute for that foam? Thanks.
Hina.. thanks for watching the video.. it’s “Great Stuff Foam” it’s in the title and description ... maybe I use it so much that I think people know what this stuff is...lol.. u can usually get it at any hardware store.. I got mine at Lowes.. I got the big gap one because it gets harder.. the door and windows foam doesn’t harden that much... I will update the description with a link ... again thank u for watching
@@MarksWorld-GetOutdoors thanks for guiding in detail. I'm from Pakistan. I was not sure about its availablity here. That's is why needed to know more 😊 video was good in details and informative 👍 thanks again.
@@hinaasif4520 U are very welcome...hopefully u have something similar ....it was a very fun project and gets so many complements from people that see it on the lawn during halloween.
It's basically a spray foam insulation meant for filling gaps and cracks around windows and other spaces in your home. You spray it into the crevice and it expands to fill the space. You can clean the spray tube with acetone if you don't use the whole container, otherwise the tube gets clogged and you can't use it.
What kind of brand of foam works for this? Thank yoy
The regular great stuff foam, big gap filler. Not the doors and windows
Great job!
+Jose A Avellanet thank u very much it was a fun project and gets so many compliments when people walked by it during Halloween last year ..
What would happen if you painted the foam while it was wet?
Does the great stuff stick to the cardboard?
If u mean the plywood yes ... u could even put it on a thick piece of cardboard and do the same thing. I did it on a piece of 3/4 “ plywood for the weight to keep it from blowing around on very windy days. Thanks for watching
Mark Dohring thanks ! I did this project last night and it looks amazing ! Thank you!:-)
Do you only use white Led or also orange ones?
I used just orange led lights.
looks more like lava lol but still looks cool
Blinking lights.
Hey can we please get a link for the great foam stuff?
dont worry go it now thanks

Red can is the Gaps and Cracks filler.
@0:40 This is why people love RUclips. You'll never hear a Hollywood celebrity say these things unless it's scripted.
?????
Thank u .. i didn’t think I was creating that much smoke that it would set off the smoke alarm ... lol.. but I thought I would mention it because it scared the crap out of me ... lol... thanks for watching and taking the time to comment .. have an awesome day!
Could put a skeleton inside cauldron
Hi, I need toknow the name of the foam you use to make that oven and where i can get it.
thousand thanks.
+Shirleth Arango Great Stuff Foam .. u can get it at any hardware store .. here’s a link to Lowes to see what it looks like .

Hope that helps ... use LED lights they don’t get hot..
Its in the description under the title. Click the arrow.
Dang makes me mad now for not buying the lights at Big Lots earlier, this idea was on my mind before I seen your video now I'm kicking my butt for it.
Where did you find Orange LED's?
+MITCH OFF THE FENCE Lowes
Walmart has sum 2 this year!
We’re did u get the cauldron
I picked it up at a Dollar Tree store when they got all of the halloween stuff in.
@@MarksWorld-GetOutdoors thanks I tried to find one this year I could tho
Spray painting right next to a gas hot water heater that can end up getting you on your daily news channel.
put dry ice in the pot
What is the foam called?
Great Stuff Foam .. u can find it at Lowes... here is a link to which one u want....www.lowes.com/pd/Dow-GREAT-STUFF-Big-Gap-Filler-20-oz-Spray-Foam-Insulation/3369676
Mark Dohring great ! Thank you ! :-)
Was the you tubers wicked makers
I made one and it deflated. Lol. Still cool looking though.
Did u by chance use the doors and window foam?
@@MarksWorld-GetOutdoors Great stuff big gap filler. Don’t get me wrong, I hundredpercent love it. It was just funny to see it deflated. I bet I just just didn’t shake the can long enough.
It’s still my favorite Halloween diy I’ve done, and I’ve done my share. :)
He stole the idea from another RUclips site and forgot where... but remember the steps... yeah right. Good video but you should give credit to who you took it from.
Phil thanks for watching and do me a favor, see if u can find the other video and let me know what u come up with.. because I looked everywhere and it could have been something other than RUclips and if I knew I would definitely give them credit and as far as steps pretty simple I think u would agree... have an awesome day.
Sorry Phil but this idea and similar have been around since the existence of foam insulation and plastic cauldrons. The RUclipsr likely got the idea from someone else too. I can assure you the idea was not invented in the last decade. As for me, I'm thankful and will be using a similar idea for my own Halloween party!
