NOTE******************************
You can't change the color of black suede. You may be able to tint it slightly but lighter color suede will give you the best result.

Did you spray them with a protective spray after? Any bleeding occur once you wore them or got them wet? Considering doing this to a faded suede jacket.
did you ever do it to your jacket? I bought a cool vintage one but it's brown and want it to be dark green.
@@romulus_ unfortunately no.. everyone was pushing me against it cause its pig suede and I guess that dyes differently. I am still tempted tho ha ha
@@FrankandNicoleGarcia1031 I'm gonna try to find a pro to do mine, not worth screwing it up. not because the jacket was super expensive, but because it's nice and has survived this long in great condition. would hate to be the one who ruins it.
@@romulus_ yah all the pros turned me down unfortunately due to the type of suede it was. I have no idea what I will do. The jacket is sitting in my closet collecting dust and its a shame because the rest of the jacket is really awesome with faux fur etc.

First off, yes to a vest video. I think it's a genius idea and hack and would love to watch a video for it. Now for the boots: Oh. My. Gosh. I am in love with this. Makes me wish I had suede boots that I could dye. Those boots are GORGEOUS, also your show off outfit of the boots, skirt (I think?), and white shirt ... goals right there, and I would buy shoes like that in a heart beat. Love these videos and your creativity.

Yes, please make a video! I have the cutest “Barbie Pink” leather coat that bubbles up on my shoulder and just looks odd plus the sleeves are a tad too long as well but it’s TOO CUTE to get rid of so maybe making a fest out of it would be my solution!

that fly just got Instafamous xD hahaha thank you for this video, I had a pair of suede shoes i found for $6 and the beije color had a Lighter-colored stain that would not come out, and i didnt want to bleach them so this was a great option!! I can't wait to try it out!!

How do you lock in the color so it doesn't rub off onto clothing? I want to dye my gray suede boots black and their brand new, but not in my size in black.
I'm in a similar situation. I found some boots but their camel color. I want to dye them black but I found them at a thrift store and I don't want to risk ruining them because I can't find them online.
If I wanted to do this to a darker suede like a medium brown should I bleach color first
so if I wanted to use dye like this on some tan suede and wall indoor men's house boot slippers, do I have to worry that the dye will come off on things like the couch or pajama pants or anything else that comes in contact with? how permanent is the die? and can it rub off onto other things? or stain other things to thru contact? How black will it get?

You can purchase "Angelus'' dye color of your choice with brush from "Ebay." The brush in the video you can buy at any 'Beauty Supply' store.

Orly you mentioned at the beginning of the video that this technique could also be used on suede jackets. Guess what. I have one hanging on the shower rod that is just too beige for my tastes. I dream of it becoming a warm shade of chocolate but I'm a little jittery about tackling such a large project. Any suggestions or advice? Should I lay the jacket on an old sheet on the floor and go to work there or leave it hanging up and work on it from that position? And is brush dyeing preferable to spray can dyeing? (btw I'm sorry you received such heat over your use of "ghetto". It obviously stirred up some hurt. I hope people can move on.)
I would lay it down and brush paint it so you can buff it in. that's an important step. Just buy a large enough bottle of it so that you can do the entire jacket.
@@TheDIYDesigner I'm in Ottawa Canada and my local shoe repair guy has Tarrago (spray can) and Fiebing's (bottle). The bottle of dye is 4 ounces. I'm thinking a jacket would need at least 3 bottles. The shoe cobbler uses a sponge applicator, not a bristle brush. Do you have a preference between brush and sponge? Would 3 bottles be adequate? Thanks Orly.

Do you have a video, or any tips and tricks, on a similar idea but with silks and satins. I have a pair of satin boots that came with a stain on them. Not sure if it's a glue residue or water stain? I love them so much but hardly wear them because of that stain!

bought some expensive boots (winter climbing boots) they only had them in khaki in my size .. so i bought the black suede dye before the boots arrived , was curious how much dye you used on your boots (mine are only 10"high) hoping the 2 bottles are enough ,, not a huge problem i can buy more as i wont be wearing the boots untill mid winter , thanks for the tips

I have a suede fringed jacket thats beige. I never wear it because I hate the color. I've been dying (no pun intended) to find someone who would dye it black for me.
How much dye would I need to get to do the whole jacket? How would I go about doing the fringe?
Which color dye is that? I have some gray suede shoes that got messes up and I want to get them back to their original color and that color is similar to this.
Do you happen to know if you can apply more than one coat of dye? I have beige boots that are dark in the back due to jean (that had been washed a ton times. I would love to use the same color but need to know if I can add more than one coat.

well, yeah, you dyed your boots. but, the title says how to dye everything suede. you didn't mention how much dye you would need for stuff. like a suede jacket? some other videos talk about dying jackets. they say to soak it in soda ash and dry it until it's just barely damp then soak it in the dye. they even wash them in the washing machine, etc. but, nobody says how much dye that you would need and where to get it. tandy leather online is pitiful in the suede dye department. bottle size and color availability. any suggestions? thank you.

Is this colour transfer proof? Like will the grey (I’m planning black) transfer when you rub it?
Why not dye the elastic with it? Does the suede dye not stay on elastic? Cause now you have grey boots with beige on the back 🤔
Hmm the Gore/Zipper color is selected to MATCH the original suede color, why wouldn't you dye those to the new color??

Does this only work if you want to change the color of the suede from lighter to darker? I've got some brown suede I really wish were bright yellow. Am I out of luck?
Yea you would most likely need to use leather paint for that

Oh sure! It's so so easy. You just want to paint a clean line down the front and back.... then you just paint that side. that's really it lol
I wonder how much of that dye you used. I tried dyeing a jacket/shirt and the suede just eats it up and at £10 a pop it aint cheap. I needed about six bottles. Cheaper to buy a new item.

I like everything except the zipper and that elastic at the back. Need to find a way to dye the zipper and the elastic, you basically now have a gray boot with a beige zipper and elastic. Is there anyway to change the color of the zipper and elastic???
I mean... it would be a tremendous amount of work... but it is doable.

What's the name of colour paint ? And Is this type of paint suitable for chamois and leather cloth?
this was Pale Grey I believe and It's actually DYE, so I would only use it on suede. You would want Angelus Leather PAINT for regular leather.
