Dave Letterman had the funniest joke about checking out neighbor Martha's property, and it had a driveway that lead you right into the interstate (SNL needs more senior hosts; Martha should reapply).
Even if she reapplied, I think SNL was right to want her right out of jail. Would've been funnier/quirky, attracted more eyeballs, etc.

I love that Seth just laughs and smiles his way through Martha being so rich and out of touch, but she does it in such a likeable way he just lets her. He would have skewered anyone else.
She's actually a major nerd, in the very best way. When she was first popular, I got so frustrated by her super involved instructions, like for pesto, which started with "grow basil." 🙄 But now I love how excited and detailed she is. Some of her interests are so obscure! 😊
Maybe it helps that she's genuinely into all these different hobbies and skills, and she doesn't come off as malicious with her out-of-touchness. Just friendly & eccentric.

I’m 66, I’m pretty broken, so my productivity on a daily basis ain’t so much. When I cut the grass my hands hurt so bad I’m pretty useless afterward. The vibration and emptying the grass catcher is allot for my arthritic hands.
I know she actually didn’t actually plant 600 trees herself this year, but she does more in one day than most 30-yr-olds do all year.

I love that Martha had a garage sale. Your question, "Was everbody well behaved" hit home for me. My last garage sale the first customer wanted to buy a $2 item with a $100 bill?? To which I said, "Dude its 8am and you want change of a $100 bill... either buy 50 more $2 items or go to the deli up the street and get change. Do I look like a freaking cashier?"

Martha is so nerdy. When she said her Modern Maze was gonna be "a fun thing", I could see the nerdy excitement I feel when things happen that I feel only I'm excited for or I see the potential in. She can barely contain her excitement.
I had a Shining moment imagining Martha's hedge maze.

Martha SStewart saying her parole officer wouldn't allow her to host snl is endlessly f***ing hilarious and I don't know why. She has a great sense of humor.
I drifted off because I was realizing how much fun it must be to hang out with Martha Stewart.
Good for her for owning the fact that she's been to jail and on parole, rather than making it a verboten topic for interviewers, as others in her position would generally be wont to do. Makes her more relatable, in spite of her "veddy foncy" (uh, what accent was that, Martha?) lifestyle.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview! Martha is such an interesting person. Thanks Seth!

For anyone taking this comment too seriously, as I see there were a couple replies that were deleted, Seth has a segment he does every week called "Corrections" where he highlights mistakes pointed out by the audience that happened on his show.

The Dole plantation Maze in Hawaii was once the worlds largest, although it's 3 acres so Stewart's maze won't even be bigger than that.
Martha is the most fun crazy Auntie to visit on Sundays! Never dull as her mind’s like a steel trap without a floor!
This is the best insight into how the rich and wealthy think. But I love it. The words she uses... how she's like 80 and thinking that everyone knows about the biggest maze in Hawaii... and she's like, I've been thinking about mazes for a long time. And she's breaking it to the horses. The whole thing is fantastic. She's like 80.

Martha reminds me of my mother, except my mother would never hang with 'Snoop'... and one time she ran a red light with me in the car and she drove to the courthouse and admitted that she had run a red light and wanted to pay the fine... Mom had also served as president of the Mukilteo Garden Club ...

Imo, she came out of jail WAY more likeable. Knocked her off the high horse, stuck-up persona and moved into down-to-earth, fun, funny, grateful, and humble. Way to be, Martha ❤️

Ms. Stewart's helpers: If you are still looking for more trees and shrubs for your maze there are many independent nurseries in the area around Perry, Ohio (about 30 miles east of Cleveland), at one time the "capital of the world" for shrubbery because of the rich sandy soil found there. They can provide the volume you need, at a low price.

Jackal clarification (not quite correction): Tag sale is a Connecticut thing. Regional phrase. In Minnesota, it's usually a garage sale. Many other places, it's a yard sale. I've heard "tag sale" only in Connecticut.
I heard it in the Texas panhandle in the 70s. People would have a group sale and the tags had their initials. Made it easier to split the money the right way.
When she was talking about gardening, I think she was confusing you with Kimmel, they talked about it last time she was on with him.

I always love seths interviews it feels more natural than most, I understand there’s bullet points but even with shows like Bill mahr who is more known for being unscripted I still put seths talks as more enjoyable

It's always interesting to hear from Martha. Anything she says is so completely foriegn and unrelatable to me; from riding one of her stable of horses through a private forest-maze to her prison time and parole limitations.

James Comey actually said this in his memoir and he was quoted somewhere else saying it way back then. She was an example of celebrities being held accountable for lying to Feds. And remember that she wasn't convicted of insider trading. She was convicted of lying to the FBI and obstructing justice in their investigation of her trading.
