I just bought a 2023 890 Duke R and had the CAMs checked (9,500 km, perfect condition) and the Relief spring upgraded which improved the idle and RPM pressure. Idle pressure went from 2 Bar to 3 Bar and RPM pressure went from 2.2 Bar to 4.5 Bar. Also put Motorex 15w50 oil in it for a hot climate. I have no concerns with the bike. It is flawless.
I'm happy I got rid of mine, KTM were forced to buy it back off me after 6 months without my bike after cam failure. I'm glad there's no longer an Orange Lemon in my garage.
100% agree , as a 2024 KTM 790 Adv owner, I’m just going to enjoy the machine and see what happens, I can always park it in my Living Room as a conversation piece 😅
I am a KTM Adventure R (2019). I have replaced one camshaft, valves and followers. To KTM’s credit the parts were provided at no cost but there was a 2k labour cost. I have ridden the bike through the US, central and South America. KTM may consider a very generous trade in program for the 790 and 890 models. Thus addressing and acknowledging the camshaft problems. This way KTM will reward customer loyalty and boost new bike sales. Just a thought.

@ why? did you watch this episode? all is a matter of a price anyways
KTM will survive but the other brands are in serious danger and I would not buy one without a HUGE discount. Like at least 40-50% off MSRP.
Yap, I just did. Now is the best time to buy. Peiole just dont know that.
@@t.fidler5895I can get a 24 500 exc for 10700 out the door. Almost pulled the trigger. Seems like they’re selling like hot cakes right now
Ktm is extremely arrogant as an organisation-it’s not customers centric, yes the bikes are good, however R&D and final testing is done in the market at the expensive of the customer. Their executive teams should have been replaced years ago - incompetent
I just got my ktm back, she’s 25 years old though so none of this applies to me anyways 😂
@@Dirt_Serpent nice!! What you got?
