Mr Pierer will be OK. He has significant personal wealth. This situation could have been predicted back in 2022 or even earlier. Just this year KTM bought 50.1% of MV Agusta, a company that has been a money pit since the late 1960's! Continually buying other manufacturers and producing the same bikes with different paint schemes and brand names defies logic as well as business logic. Now that CF Moto (and Bajaj) can produce effectively KTM's at a much lower price, and not in bright orange, why would you buy a KTM? Add in the KTM reliability issues with camshafts and poor customer service and KTM has lost sight of how fragile the motorcycle market is, certainly in Europe.

Many of KTM's recent issues seem to have been the result of their own decisions, not "outside market forces". Therefore, what creditor is going to agree with a self-administered recovery plan? I love my duke. I also like the racing stuff they have done with young ladies building, training and racing bikes.
Honestly dont think they will go bankrupt...if Suzuki can stay alive still making bikes,KTM should be able to make it work.
Suzuki makes alot more than just bikes. That's part of the reason why they are still in business
I'm hoping they don't, but it's looking like it'll be close. They have been bankrupt before but not while at a scale of size like they are now. I believe there's a place for them at the table if they can turn it around
Quality, price and...... that orange all need some thought. Hope they survive, only for the sake of competition. We would like to see innovation with all brands. Not a iphone 33, 34, 35, 36 type of story.
Royal Enfield is thriving. You meet the nicest people on Royal Enfields.
I was gonna buy a ktm/husqvarna soon, should I reconsider?
I think it depends what you’re looking at, they do make some great bikes.
@@Kwackajack what do you think is gonna happen to Husqvarna Svarpillens 401s?
@@blacksheepspaniard3978 one go's their all gone
I would for sure buy now. The sales will be really discounted to bring in the money they need. Black Friday type sales
That's why I go with Japanese ❤
Many of KTM's recent issues seem to have been the result of their own decisions, not "outside market forces". Therefore, what creditor is going to agree with a self-administered recovery plan? European bankruptcy laws are likely somewhat different from American (where I live), but it just seems much more likely that a court administered bankruptcy restructuring or company sale will occur. Then we'll see...
0:40 At least they were smart enough to call themselves “KTM”, not Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen!
i think they thought corona was the new standard. everybody had money to spend and all bought new bikes. that time is gone and bikes are just really expenisive and the price diffrence is huge a new mx bike from yamaha is 17% cheaper then a ktm. 17%
just fyi Bajaj still owns a large chunk of Perrier
Soon they will own all of it.
I bought a 23 KTM 690 SMCR and was overpriced over rated junk sounded like a box of rocks ! Glad I didn't get tge 1290 super adventure heard terrible things of it abd problems
That means The bike is not for you actually
Kinda sad news.. i dont understand how they reach to this point.... i do wish if they can survive....
seems like the board has lost control of the finances thru over expansion, over committing themselves, weak sales, competition etc. Probably paying themselves lots of money too.
I wonder if this would affect Husqvarna in their portfolio, particularly Svartpillen 401 ?
Doesn't CF Moto make a shitload of part's/ motorcycle's in China for K T M
Also CF Moto also makes a load of motorcycle's using Chinese copied part's from KTM and moto 3.
Maybe KTM'S Moto GP team will be renamed CF Moto Red Bull GP 😅
Hot take but i at least wish geely would come and save them, i just cant afford to see that company fade.
I red on a KTM tank: "entirely designed in Austria"... and built....???? Ktm were good dirt bikes, but street bikes were NEVER on par with Japan's. Totally another level of industrialization.
For the future, some Chinese brand will put a KTM badge on their cheap copy, and everyone will be happy. Exept for real bike lovers....
The end of their MotoGP teams…?☹️
When KTM shafted Toby Price after this years Dakar I had a gut feeling things were bad, for me the biggest barometer of how things are for KTM is the amount of KTM’s I don’t see at the tracks where I ride..
KTM used to be “the cool kid at school” whereas where I ride the main chatter is now about Triumph …
I've always wanted a KTM, and now that I can afford to buy one, they switched to Chinese engines...sorry, I'm not falling for that one. You should have remained Austrian and weathered the storm. You couldn't pay me to own one now...
Its pronounced "far-zeg-bau" - meaning vehicle construction
Wish royal Enfield could buy ktm
RE are majority owned by another large Indian automaker, Madras. I don’t know if they’d have the capital but you never know 🤷🏻♂️
Never had any problems with all the KTMs I have owned and still own.All BIG COMPANIES GO THRU THIS STUFF WITH A UNSTABLE ECONOMY..So get over it.They will be fine..Funny how stupid people love seeing people fail..Love KTM Bikes..No worries here at all.But makes a good story for all the Drama Queens.
Isn't the whole point of any company to be self-administered? Who administered them before, Dave from Wendy's?
Husqvarna in latam are more expensive and they replace shocks and tires with cheap parts for this market.. Bye KTM.. Hello cfmoto
Sounds like a hostile take owner from Bajaj's side.
CF Moto have the money to take them over.
Demo mode/tech pack, chocolate cams (with piss poor customer back up) and fugly bikes made me take my money elsewhere. They brought it on themselves.
The bad marketing I agree. They seem to be out of touch from their consumers, and who came out with the #NoBullshit tagline for the new Duke? I enjoy riding their bikes but sometimes they just dropped the ball too often 🙂↔️
Have you seen some of their IG marketing videos around the duke 990? They are calling out their consumers, I know it’s meant to be playful but seems stand-offish
@Kwackajack yup, I am very aware of it
its easy build reliable bikes like the Japanese manufacturers do and stop ripping people off with the tech packs and when your bikes break like they often do fix them rather than ignore and piss your customers off that have spent a fortune on your overpriced bikes
Sure let china build your bikes, they wil never sell your patent moulds to their brothers😂
It’s because they never made a scooter 😔
KTM made scooters up until the mid 80s.
The Chinese are circling.
Lets wait and see and stop posting click bait, all youre doing speculating. They did fine before covid, they just need to get rid of GasGas and MV.
They did do fine before Covid, they aren’t now though. Entering into self-admin and halting production are big alarm bells for any company.
They have been bankrupt before but not while at a scale like this. Here’s hoping they can get themselves out of it!
They tried to get into to many markets
