    So wise of you to say you don’t abuse them helping their younger siblings because at the end of the day, they are all children.

    You are so wise to take of yourself postpartum. I have intentionally put priority in resting this time as well. This is my 11th pregnancy in 10 years with 6 children earth side. It is so important to give your body the rest it needs. In fact it is biblical. Traditionally moms were made to rest by the women around her. We don't hesitate to call mean roosters around here. New follower.

      Yes yes yes!!! And not only for a woman’s health but that bonding time with new baby is unlike anything else. These precious weeks go by so fast, I enjoy being “forced” to rest and savor these moments with baby 🥰

    • @pamsam8933
      @pamsam8933 Месяц назад

      Absolutely no disrespect intended, just serious curiosity...how does a woman's body get the rest and recoup time that it really needs if there's 11 pregnancies in 10 years. I've always thought it needed more time between pregnancies just to "reset and recharge", either emotionally or physically. I guess it just sounds dangerous to me, for mama and baby. I had a miscarriage at 6 months and, emotionally, it took me a couple of years to get up the courage to try again. Same, after my daughter was born. "11 in 10" simply boggles my mind! 🤯

    • @GridIronHillFarm
      @GridIronHillFarm  Месяц назад

      @@pamsam8933 I appreciate your genuine question without rudeness❤ I can only speak from MY experience with lots of pregnancies in a short time period. Though I absolutely agree that it is taxing on the body, there is also something somewhat healing about being able to conceive again after a loss. I usually needed a month or two to get to the point where I wanted to try again. Because all my miscarriages were in the first trimester it didn’t seem too taxing on my body. I also knew I needed to take care of myself and so that was a priority. Also, MAYBE it was/is a lot for our bodies. It can be difficult to say until it’s too late and we find ourselves struggling. I personally found my body held up perfectly fine until I cared for foster children with mental health issues. THAT’S when I could tell my wellbeing took a downwards spiral. The stress was a LOT.

    Oh girl, I had to comment again! My 1st baby cried at night uncontrollably & I broke down. I told my husband that I fed, changed and burped but didn't know what else to do! (I was young). My husband got up and walked a lot with her. That was just her personality. She could never lay back in anyone's arms, and she always needed the person to move, not stay sitting! I was so thankful that Daddy got up & walked her because I was at my wits end crying. It's kinda a newborn thing too, where their days & nights are messed up & their little systems need to find their comfort❤️

    Thanks for sharing this! I'm sorry that people are so rude to you in the comments. I'm due in one month and look forward to those precious moments in the beginning to recover and snuggle. I have heard a few people talking about dairy and gas so I am thankful to have that information ahead of time. Will be somewhat difficult as i love dairy, way too much!

    • @GridIronHillFarm
      @GridIronHillFarm  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks 🥰 I definitely don’t mind differing opinions and suggestions but some people are very harsh. I’m goin to get used to hitting those “delete”, “hide comment”, and “block buttons” 😉 I’m a pretty open book and can make myself very vulnerable so it’s hard to hear people’s judgement comments.
      I’m SO excited for you!!! I’m nap trapped right now and perfectly content getting all these snuggles 😁
      I’ve had varying degrees of sensitivity from each baby. Some can handle small amounts of dairy, some it’s onions and broccoli etc. this time around I’m trying to cut out ALL of it since I can’t seem to figure out what’s causing his distress. I’m wondering if it’s coffee 😭 I’ve been drinking it with coconut milk but he’s still gassy.
      Also, more things that do help, though not 100%, is infant probiotics, homeopathic colic tabs from Hilands, and me taking digestive enzymes. Blessings to you and your baby ❤️❤️

    Why are so many being rude and shaming another woman for self care? She has a right to take care of herself as she and her advisor ( dr, midwife etc) has advised her to do. I am a firmer believer in you do you and be kind if someone does it differently. Just because she brings ys along her journey doesn't mean she's asking if she's doing it right? Maybe she is trying to raise awareness that there is more than one way to do things. Remember kindness is free try to share some please! God bless!

    Thx for sharing this. I will be following behind you with my first home birth (baby number 5 1 in heaven) nearing the end of Feb possibly beginning of March. I turned 40 in November. I am finally feeling excited. It’s been a tough road. I struggled with low iron and I am still working on it so it’s been my most difficult pregnancy. I have been forced to take it easy and rest while I recover my iron stores through supplementation. I miscarried in April and conceived again a month later with this baby (6 months now) so I think that coupled with a pregnancy in 2022, continuous nursing, and cycles wiped my iron out. I am just so thankful to make it this far even with the difficulty. I have to say I am so ready for baby to come so hopefully I can feel like my energetic self again. I am also so ready to start nursing, baby wearing, and contact napping again with a little baby. We have a two year old that will be 3 by the time baby comes. She still comfort nurses from time to time and we just got her to sleep in her big girl bed for the first time last night. Big girl bed is a Queen mattress next to our king that she shares with her older sister but it was amazing and sad. Amazing having room and not feeling hot sad not having that sweet body nuzzled against me or my husband. Another transition making way for baby. Anyways, thx for sharing again. Look forward to the next one. May Jesus continue to bless and guide you and your household abundantly. 🤍 🕊️ 🌈

      Many cultures (the wise ones) understand the benefit of strict bedrest after childbirth in order to give the mother a chance to fully heal. Traditional Chinese culture has a very descriptive diet for her to follow, to ensure that she is getting all of the necessary nutrients for healing.

    If you know that your babies don't do dairy,why would you eat so much also knowing whatever you eat your baby eats due to breastfeeding as you've said your 40 yrs and 7 children in,you did it to yourself and 6 hrs crying and comparing that to post partom depressing is discusting

    • @GridIronHillFarm

      True, my dietary choices absolutely were my doing. However, from my experience with the last 2 babies, I was able to take digestive enzymes and it broke down the lactose to where only certain things bothered the babies. Not every baby has reacted the same so I was testing to see how this babe reacted.
      And, there was a whole lot more going on that I chose not to share that caused me to breakdown. Post partum depression shows itself in many many ways.
