Many years ago, my husband and I lived in a remote tiny cabin. We ditched the couch, added 2 comfy mid sized recliners and a small round table that both sides were hinged to close up and 2 wooden chairs. It improved our living space so much better, spent many hours playing cards and of course our meals at that little table. My husband has passed many years ago, I loved those years and have many happy memories. Keep making lots of memories, life is after all one big experience from start to end :)
Nothing weird about it. This is genuine, down-to-earth and chill slice-of-life entertainment at it's finest. TV's full of overly materialistic garbage, partisan politics, fearmongering "news" and even more ads than RUclips without premium or adblocker so I'd just say you simply have good taste. ☝️😆
Very interesting stuff I might add also,I don't watch TV either other than a movie, so I don't even have a clue what's going on in the real world other than listening to the radio back n forth to work!
Loved THIS...Ive had only one riding experience on snowmobiles. IT WAS A PEAK EXPERIENCE. We rode 100 miles a day...stopping at little pubs along the way to have a hot toddy and warm up. I have a mechanical aptitude with machines...and took to my machine right away. I was going 100 miles per hour at one point LOVED IT. Adrenaline junky..💋👍CRAZY THO. I even got to hill climb with it. Wow that was soooo fun. We were in PENNSYLVANIA MTS. I'll never will forget THAT. Thanks for the BEAUTIFUL PICS...THANKS 4 THE MEMORIES. MADE ME SMILE AND FEEL GOOOOD
I hope you two have a very Merry Christmas. Mine was just "made" this evening. My niece texted news that all but one of her tumors has shrunk. The war rages on, but a battle won is a very sweet victory. Tonight, I give thanks to God for this blessing. Great time on the trail, that meal (as always) looks amazing. Congrats on turning the corner. I know that feeling, I did 20 Alaskan winters, 10 of them above the arctic circle. Daylight is a wonderful thing.
Thinking about and praying for your niece. I love your message on sweet victory on each battle won in a raging war. Thank you God ,for this blessing. I am a cancer survivor. These victories are a blessing.
@@deborahpelletier4573 She's definitely in a fight for her life, and she's holding her own. Last report from family members is she's getting thin and showing the signs of the fight. But, I'm trusting God to touch her and to bring healing so that His name can be glorified. As a survivor yourself, you know the things she needs while she fights. Prayers from folks like you are a huge benefit. Nothing beats experience in warfare. Blessings your way, and good f/u reports.
I was wondering, has anyone in y'alls family come to visit yet? And if so, what do they think of all your hard work? I can imagine they must be proud of all that you have made and accomplished!
So often when folks are given less of something they moan about it...love how yall took hold of the daylight you got and made a super day of it! Beautiful footage! As usual the meal looks delish! 🙂 Feliz Navidad from our household to your!🙂
I agree with you. These videos helped me a lot with my pandemic anxiety. Being my husband and I are both high risk. Looking forward to these videos was just what the doctor ordered... 😊
These wintery videos are so therapeutic. The sounds, the sights, the camera work. I know it's probably way more work than any of us could imagine, but it looks so cozy and like a wonderful place to spend the holiday season.
I did my first snowshoeing this year at Baker Mountain Washington. I really enjoyed it. I hope you and the pups have a Merry Christmas. Thanks for sharing your life with us!
Losing the 20 will make you feel like 20 years younger... and you’re all set for your own personal restart... enjoy! (From a 76 yr. old) Merry Christmas!
So sad ya'll think you can't do this. You can. I was 40 when we moved to Alaska. Don't be in your city apt. In your 80's regretting you never did it. And I'm still over weight. LOL
Just a thought collecting the wood, if you had a small sled pully on rope you can do two trips in one, carry a batch pull the full sled in, after you at at the house, Happy Christmas guys
Your my favorite homestead channel, just mainly since I love the vides, get inspired by something every episode. I enjoy that you show everyday life in Alaska on a homestead, even just a short part of it. The recipes are fun too, the way you use the wood stove to simmer the food while your out and about is economical. Looks very cold though, not for wooses.
Although you are working hard every day, I want you to know that your videos bring a calmness to this widowed 74 year old's life. ( and a little envy ) When our children were young, we had a 15acre farm. They were the best days of our life. I especially love your cooking segments, a fond reminder of all the from scratch cooking we did. Now I cook for one. Enjoy this wonderful time together for it is all too soon gone. Blessings.
Merry Christmas guys. I’m in Missouri now but I cry missing Alaska so much. After living there for 20 years that becomes home and it will always be home to me. Have a wonderful Solstice.
I got my calendars today, they are fantastically gorgeous! Had to drive from Wasilla to Eagle River, roads were crazy icy and I’m glad to be home, but I STILL haven’t gotten to snowshoe this year, my very favorite winter activity :) Thank you for another great video,
Thanks so much for the undiluted joy you bring us! No politics, no diseases, just life at it's fullest! AAAAAAAAMEN! You are a blessing. May you be blessed this Christmas and into and through the New Year!!!
Merry Christmas from Belleville Ontario Canada. I have snowshoes the same as the ones you have. I went out and got some of the old wooden ones for the really deep stuff.
I work in the woods in upstate NY through the year. I’m no pro, but I’d recommend 36” shoes regardless of weight. The more powder, the more displaced your weight needs to be. Crusty or packed the snow requires less. Really admire you guys and wish you the best.
One of my favorite days of the year ... winter solstice. Every day from here on in gets longer. I despise winter. Well, except I watch of RUclips videos to see how people survive this brutal season. Somehow makes me feel better. Maybe I'm a sadist. Thanks for posting and Happy Summer.
I live 12 miles from them - We're having a solar minimum this year (and for the past several years), so there haven't been any great displays, at least not here in the Susitna Valley. Hopefully we'll see them in the spring!
Re: snowshoes. The "size" of snowshoes correct for a person has most everything to do with depth and type of snow to be walked on. And since manufacturers have no control over that, they sell them by a person's weight which has little to do with it. So having a reasonable idea of what kind of snow you will typically be on is helpful but also bound to change at times. When we get a fresh new dumping of snow here in Maine, I have an older wooden pair of shoes that are 4 feet long! (but are still quite light weight). These "float" the best in new deep snow. We use these to break out our trail. But even on the very next trip on that trail we'll use the shorter modern metal type which because they are shorter will still sink in some more but not as bad as if we had initially used them. As the trail continues to get packed more and more it can even get to the point of not needing any snowshoes. Terrain can also be a consideration for shape of snowshoes. Those four footers may not be so nice for use trudging through tight small spruce as opposed to a trail. So IF your snowshoeing would commonly be on virgin snow, you might consider longer ones. Good day to you both. Peter, just stuck on my wife's account.
