I have reallllly bad gas pain / bloating and it's not fun at all. For me, it's not even something I care about for aesthetic purposes, it's literally just UNCOMFORTABLE
@S P HAHAHAHA I LOVE THAT FOR US!! also happy new year!!
@S P same! I just almost never comment. Its almost like “hey, I know him/her.”
@S P me too! Always on madfit but I love it😂
I totally understand!
Same. I get it so bad that I get nauseous and can't sit up straight which makes me feel like vomiting. It's not “just bloating.” It can be so painful and make you sick
My mantras in the new year. Anything worth doing is worth doing half-assed. Better is better. Perfection isn’t necessary. Better is more than enough.
This concept has helped me a lot. Love it
Totally!
Love this!
I needed this so bad right now
As a future dietitian I can only aspire to be as knowledgeable AND sassy as you Abbey💕
Thank you so much ❤️
@@AbbeysKitchen Dearest Abbey, I wanted to thank you for giving me the support to work towards a more healthy and sustainable approach towards my relationship with food. I'm so glad I came across your channel. Stay blessed!
RD here.. I think it comes with the job lol.. Not to patients but with your colleagues.
definitely same ☺️
Hello I m 21 years my problem is I get bloated after meals I am so worried.!so what do you think about Digestive Enzymes are they safe.?
Bloating for me is not about the aesthetic, but literally that I own zero pairs of pants I can comfortably wear when I'm bloated. It's just incredibly painful
I'm sorry 🙁
Yes! Like jeans that fit when bloated slide down in the morning and jeans that fit in the morning hurt when bloated 😭 at least in quarantine, one can wear stretchy trousers all day 😅
Would love a video on Crohn’s disease and diet. Not to “cure” the illness but to make sure your getting enough nutrients and reducing symptoms like gas/bloating etc.
Yes! I've been tinkering with my diet for a long time! Also would like something related to SIBO and digestion.
Thanks for the suggestion
As an IBS-D girl, seriously, how do you fruit/veggie with minimal consequence?
Yes! Crohns and colitis.
@@StayGreenBDifferent Low fodmap is key, and watching fiber intake
“Survival mode” and “mom guilt over taking time to eat” VERY real for so many moms! Thank you for sharing your honest feelings and reality.
I love this video, I enjoy abbey’s normal content, but this feels so organic and natural. The normal “on set” style videos always come across as very stiff to me, not a bad thing at all, just less natural than this one. Love the content love the messaging !
Thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it
It was phenomenal! And amazing timing. For the last 2 weeks all I’ve been advertised on my socials was laxatives and diet pills that claimed to “fix bloat” and I don’t even consume any nutrition content beyond Abbey’s Kitchen so I can only imagine what other peoples timelines look like right now!
Omg you are such a powerhouse of a woman. Your life is so relatable and I'm in such admiration of how well you handle all the quirks and challenges. With so much grace and humour ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much ❤️
You could use a muddler the way they do at bars, to squish your blueberries. Ever try letting the La Croix stand around until the bubbles go away and the liquid is “flat.” Then try it with ice. There are also waters with flavor but without the bubbles. I’ll bet that with two kids the real problem is slowing down when you eat. So, try little bites often during the day. The anticipation of being interrupted also encourages unconscious swallowing of air. Been where you are with the tummy muscle separation too. Relaxation is key and I think relaxing exercise will help too.
Thank you for the tips!
These are good tips - the other thought I could add is to pour the sparkling drink into a cup instead of drinking from the can - easier to avoid gulping extra air from a glass, and naturally "degasses" the drink a little, without having to wait. Thanks Abby- as a dietitian I really enjoyed this one. So nice to see how a) "basic" advice really can make a difference, and b) empathetize with the difficulty of making even small adjustments to the things we enjoy!
"Can't wait for this flat, boring ass water!" 🤣 I. Love. Your. Whining. I am such a fan of you keeping it real about how much it can suck to change eating rituals.
😂I'm glad you enjoy it!
I struggle with IBS-C and I’m bloated a lot but some stuff that helped me was a really good probiotic and getting some movement throughout my day. I love your outlook on everything ! 💛
Thank you for sharing! ❤️
There are some yoga movements that are amazing to help me pass the gas! I would link you the video I use but it's in Italian
I have the same! What kind of probiotic?! Pill/food/drink?!
@@frankiefavero1666 I'm also curious!
I love this realistic look at balancing your symptoms with all your different priorities.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
What works for me? Cut back on sugar (especially sugary cereals), get more movement (walks are great), and peppermint tea in the evenings or whenever my gut's being cranky.
Thanks for the tips!
I just watched amberlyn's reaction to your review of her diet and it was so great to see that it helped her and was positive because you were so careful about the way you were addressing her issues. I appreciate your kindness towards her.
Thank you ❤️
Honestly to me bloating causes a lot of psychological distress and makes me just wanna starve myself
I see your handle is realist so please be real and truthful with yourself - bloating is normal and no reason to restrict/starve. I know the feeling but it will just lead to a vicious cycle if you keep that mentality and act on it. you need to eat whenever you want and whatever amount you want without restrictions . I think this is the best remedy for your bloating is to honor your hunger. When you don’t honor your hunger and you restrict then your whole digestive system gets confused. The best thing you can do is to honor your hunger and never starve yourself. It will bring health to your body and your mind
If you’re still struggling with making water drinking a habit, one thing that really helped me is pairing it with using the bathroom. I keep a small cup by the sink, so after I wash my hands I fill it partway up and take a few swigs of water. Since you’re guaranteed to be in the bathroom a few times a day, even a few sips each trip can add up pretty quick!
Genius
Make sure your water is filtered to be extra careful it could be harmful 🥺
Keep it covered so that germs don't get in there when you flush the toilet! Otherwise good tip :)
I feel like this was a mini masterclass on surprise side effects of pregnancy! Always incredibly informative and helpful.
Yep
I’m a nutrition and dietetics student AND and a mom of two. This was SO relatable! Regardless of nutrition/dietetics background, motherhood can really make eating well complicated. It’s all about shoving in food whenever you get an uninterrupted second! I can’t even tell you have many times I’ve quickly eaten my kids plate leftovers 😂
I loved these simple suggestions that don’t involve making extreme dietary changes. Thanks for this and hang in there! ❤️
The things mothers go through, bless them ♥️
❤️❤️
I’m so sorry you are dealing with this but sending you lots of love! Thanks for another great video
Thank you! ❤️
I like the different type of format of this video! Happy New Year’s Eve to you and your family 🎉
Thank you! Happy New Year's!
I really appreciate your honesty in this video especially with balancing priorities and being self-compassionate because changing habits take time! It needs to be realistic with your life right now.
Thank you! I'm so glad it's helpful
My pharmacist recommended taking Altoids when having gas pain during pregnancy because the peppermint oil helps. I still use it whenever I have pain in my stomach. It feels good for nausea too.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Yay those tips make me feel vindicated lol. If I’ve got trapped gas pre or during PMS I look up “yoga for bloating and gas” and it really helps release it. I also switch the bubbly lime water to squeezing a lime (my neighbor has a massive lime tree lol) over ice and tap water, or I have the Le Digestif tea from David’s tea (it has mint and orange peel so it’s pungency helps me focus on something else besides the trapped gas). Hope you feel better soon!
I'm so glad they were helpful. Thank you!
These are helpful suggestions, thanks thegiddyowl!
I would like more of these, where you talk about your diet and experience! I find you talking about what you eat, your habits as a dietitian more helpful than what celebrities are doing and what not to do. :)
Thanks for the feedback!
It honestly took me a minute to realize that the sign in the background of Andrea Hardy's shelf says "EAT" and not "FAT" 😂 I just thought: What an interesting adornment to have in your room. Must be a dietician thing lol
😂
Your comment about feeling mom guilt just eating a meal is so relatable! I think mom guilt shapes our decisions way more than we realize.
This is so interesting I have DR from my two pregnancies and have also had a lot of digestion/bloating issues perinatally but never thought they could be related. I am so sorry to hear that your DR is so serious, it can be really destabilizing (like, literally). I know you know it can improve and heal with the right support. Takes a while. I didn't get a chance to take that care of myself right after my second was born but I'm doing it now (she's 22 months) and everything is still salvageable. Mom of two toddlers here sending lots of love, love your channel! xo ps. this brought me to tears, this is my life! so many things on the list when they sleep, feeding yourself properly doesn't feel like a priority.
Thanks for all these tips, keeping it real and fun. I have been struggling with this bloating and pain issue on and off for a year now. Through trial and error with lots of support from different health care professionals I have found a path. I am in no way healed but healing. Pretty much gave up all the sparkly and coffee and ( not always) as much as possible sugary foods as well as many meats. Following you and my advisors I am almost back to my original pre- self employment, 60 hour a week working mom, meaning I actually hear my body and listen to what it wants from me. Thank you for sharing so much here and thank you for making a difference in my life. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2021. 💖With love from Santa Fe
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Best video you've ever made!! Showing the struggle and what compromise looks like for you us truly so helpful.
Thank you, so glad it's helpful!
Thank you for this Abbey, it's a real struggle for me since i struggle with gas/bloating whilst recovering from an ED. I'm just not in a place where i can cut out food groups. Thank you again
I'm glad it was helpful!
Oh my god, this is exactly the video I've been wanting whenever I go searching the internet for bloating tips! As a vegetarian with a veg- and bean-heavy diet, I get such painful trapped gas. My best routine for relieving it is drinking warm herbal teas (any will do, but I avoid coffee or black tea as I take them with milk and that does nothing to relieve the feelings) and gentle ab exercises like squats, bridge pulses and moving in and out of the pilates/yoga 'child's pose'. Though even a light walk really helps when I'm in extreme pain. I find that alternating my body from a straight position, like standing, to a bent position, like sitting in a chair or lying on my side in a fetal pose, is also incredibly helpful as the curling and unfurling of the bowel area creates pockets of space for the gas to move through. This video was great!
I'm so glad it was helpful! I also have a video about vegan/vegetarians and digestion if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/MbIndxzisag/видео.html&ab_channel=AbbeySharp
Oh man! I’m no stranger to trapped gas. So painful! Cat cow pose works every time and finish with child’s pose.
Totally! Thanks for the tip!
I adore how real and raw you are !! You are so relatable and it makes me love you more xo
Thank you! ❤️
As a person with Ibs I don’t eat until my bloating goes away and do cardio. I usually just need to fart a lot and need to be alone
I get that!
This was such a realistic look at what a challenge it is to try to manage/figure out the factors affecting a health/body issue while having other life responsibilities too! Having patience and trusting this process plus making changes are some of the hardest things in my experience. This was so helpful.
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Happy New Year Abbey!! 🎉🎊
I love how you stated wanting to 'add' more foods into your diet rather than eliminating them!! Hallelujah! I think we have way too many restricted diets out there.
Totally! Happy new year! ❤️
Can you do a video about what is nutritional yeast? Is it just hype or actually good? How do you use it? What does it taste like? I would really appreciate it!
Thanks for the suggestion!
I don't know about the value of nutritional properties, but it adds umami, salty, cheese-y flavours to a meal. But it can be an acquired taste for some
@Kaylee Faltys nutritional yeast does not contain any b12.. unless it’s fortified.
@@RosesAndIvy most nutritional yeast is fortified tho at least the most popular brands
@@nissemilka I’m guessing you live in the US? Cause where I live it’s not usually fortified
Key takeaways:
-drink sparkling water when you are very active so the gas doesn’t stay in your belly
-eat slowly
-veggie soup is a great way to eat slowly and you can batch cook
I am really happy to hear a lot of folks in the comments discussing how many of their issues are psychological, as I feel this contributes to many of the issues I have. That, and I sure do love a sparkly beverage 😩
For sure! So glad it's helpful
she said "chew your food well" right when i had scoffed down my dinner lmao and taken my last bite 😂
😂
same
Omg the coincidence! I’ve been dealing with so much pain recently (more than my usual bloating due to my IBS-c), it’s so painful and a huge discomfort...
and you came out with a video about it, thank you so much!😘
I'm sorry, I hope the tips in the video are helpful!

holy moly, her face symmetry is on point 😲🤯
True!
LOVED THIS VIDEO ❤️ Your situation is SO similar to mine in every way (except for babies) and it was so refreshing to see more of your human side because it normalizes what some of us are going through.
I also enjoyed the close-ups; you are so pretty, even from up close. It goes well with the vlog-style format.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS. They help me stay sane in this wibbly-wobbly ED recovery, which is not easy even after 10 years recovered.
Again, ❤️ THANK YOU ❤️
for the breath of fresh air in this stinky, rotten world.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy them ❤️
I'm catching up with all your videos and I just love how you always keep things real! Thank you for all the interesting content!
As someone who HATES sparkling water, I deeply cannot relate to this normal water hate 😭😂
😂
I said "amen" a lot during this video. This was so helpful! These suggestions are much more sustainable physically (and emotionally - that's key) than just completely cutting out foods or beverages we enjoy. Thanks for sharing :)
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Completely agree about the emotional component. There's a reason we crave what we crave; those foods affect the way we feel.
*me sitting here bloated after having a malt knowing damn well I’m lactose intolerant
😬😬
Also literally I’ve had gas pain worse than getting my IUD
😂😂
And malt has wheat in it too..... FODMAP....
Yeah, same. (well, I'm not sure I'm intolerant. It just makes me a little gassy, bloated and ehm... Runny.)
Loving this blog content Abbey! I'm so here for it 💕
First of all, thank you for speaking on diastasis recti. I do think its largely unheard of by the general population. I had it after my first (big ) baby and had no idea my stomach was the way it was. Then I got pregnant with twins I carried to 38 weeks.. so yeah its worse now lol
I'm sorry. I'm glad that was helpful
It is so interesting to hear you say you want to be kind to yourself and not be strict. But being strict in this aspect seems loving since you will alleviate the pain of bloating and getting better sleep which is essential for a good quality way of life and essential for your babies. It seems like over all your best option is to cut out food groups that cause bloating but if you still feel like it might cause you to get back into an eating disorder, it only means more work needs to be done mentally. Reality is that some foods are beneficial, others are not. If we can not balance that, we need not doom ourselves to being unhealthy for the sake of eating what ever makes us emotionally happy but physically unhealthy. We need to accept that more mental work needs to take place in order for us to mature in our palette and eat the nutrients that will strengthen our immune systems and enjoy it.
This was such a relatable video and I love the transparency of balancing caring for yourself and your child. I am chronically ill with 2 kids one who has down syndrome and a pacemaker. I'm having to learn to balance everything so I can manage my health ❤ great video
Thank you for sharing! I'm glad it was helpful
HOW DID YOU KNOW I NEEDED THIS VID SO BADLY
I would like more VLog Style videos of you. I just discovered your channel and can't get enough of your entertaining and information packed videos. Thanks you! 😊
The water will probably taste better if you let it infuse overnight in the fridge. If you have a larger pitcher or half-gallon glass mason jar you could make enough for the day. Also, hibiscus and peppermint makes a great iced tea. I love my soda stream though.
Thanks for the tip!
I don't often drink infused water or fizzy drinks, and usually when I do it's super warm outside. I've found the best way to do it isn't with the personal type of water bottle, but a jug, large jar, or pitcher and leaving the contents in overnight. Mint, basil, rosemary, ginger, and lemongrass(I use powder usually because it is rarely available fresh where I live) can really take the flavour up a notch or two with very little effort and money especially if it is home grown. I often either just give the herbs a good crush or slice, sometimes with kitchen scissors if I'm being extra lazy. I definitely squish my blueberries too, trying to get all out of them that I can. I don't think there would be too much flavour without them! If they're in season, stone fruits and melons are fantastic ways to get some flavour also. If not, any type of citrus fruits also go a long way, as your intuition has told you.
Some of my fave and super easy combos are:
Grapefruit and rosemary
Basil, lemongrass, and ginger
Lychee, pear, honeydew, and blueberry
Simple lemon and mint, or mint and strawberry
And omg so many more.
My most enthusiastic advice for infusing water is to not forget about those delicious herbs and spices! They can really go a long way.
I also make kombucha, and it has helped my son with his gi issues(along with dietary changes), with the added bonus that all my kids and myself love it. It has a little less bubbly than a seltzer water or other fizzy drinks, with the added benefits of live cultures. The biggest downside is the time it takes, though I make a gallon at a time(for my household of 5), and it takes a total of about 3 weeks including infusing the flavours.i also sometimes use chia seeds and it makes it more filling and more snack-like(or heck, you could germinate some chia seeds and stick them in your lacroix if you don't mind the texture). I use the above flavour combinations and many more in my kombucha. I like to use a 1/2 black tea, 1/2 green tea, and sometimes vanilla red rooibos in thirds along with the others.
You could also try water kefir if you're not kombucha fan to add some delicious, more lightweight bubbly that some people tolerate more easily than kombucha. I love making ginger ale with it. So tasty.
The nice thing about all of these is that it takes little effort, especially when making larger batches at once, however much you and your family can go through. Luckily for me, it's a whole heck of a lot and it lasts quite a long time.
I hope you're feeling a whole lot better, but I figured I'd share my personal experience in case you or others may find it useful.
Cheers! Thanks again for another awesome video!
Edited to add: Beano! My Dad has a lot of bloating and swears by beano! It has a natural enzyme that helps the digestive process when it comes to foods that often cause gas and bloating such as beans or cabbage. I didn't get it as a kid, but boy do I now
Dug this video up to tackle some bloating I’ve been feeling lately. The hardest one for me so far is limiting carbonated drinks. As someone in sobriety, seltzer’s and sodas (ginger beer especially) help me fill that ritual/satisfaction of having a drink that isn’t water and is solely for enjoyment. Gonna try to limit it to one per night for a little bit just to see if that helps.
I had severe pain on my lower left side for over 7 months and I never went to the doctors because of the whole “someone has it worse than you” mentality and it’s probably going to pass. but I went and found out I had diverticulitis and polyps in my bowel. Listen to your body it’s telling you something and I’m only 25. Hope you’re doing well x
Thank you for sharing your experience
Thank you for this! So vulnerable and yet graceful, do more of these!
So glad you enjoyed! On the list to do more of them
Love the blog, I get bloated really badly sometimes I just can’t “fluff” and it becomes hell..walking helps but it’s so nice to know we are not alone 💛
For sure. So glad it was helpful ❤️
I don't know if the beans were part of the frozen soup, but they did study on how to get rid of the part of the bean that makes you gassy, and they found that if you soak the beans and freeze them (without soaking liquid) and then cook them, that works best.
Interesting, thank you for the tip!
Have had some bad bloating lately myself, can’t wait to try these tips! Definitely seem simple enough.
I hope they're helpful!
Great video and easy suggestions to minimize bloat! Also, I'm loving these new format "blog" videos! Thank you for sharing! Happy 2021 Abbey.
I love this content! It’s so nice to see candid Abbey 😍
I was looking at your recipe zucchini noodle carbonara. I'm a vegetarian and I looked up a substitute for pancetta and olives or portobello mushrooms were suggested. Your cookbook is so versatile for people who have different diets I thought maybe if you had a section for substitutes to refer to you recipes would be even more user friendly for everyone. Just a thought because your cookbook is the most vegetarian
friendly book I've seen that also has meat recipes. I just love it and I'm so excited that I'll be able to have a variety of 500 calorie meals. I've found you at the perfect time in my diet journey.
I've tried really restrictive diets to lose weight and it just isn't sustainable and I would eventually get sick off it and eat high calorie foods. Your meals are something I can do long term. Thanks so much.
I'm so glad you enjoy them! ❤️
I love this style of video a lot!!! Examples of how to make small changes is really helpful
For sure! So glad you enjoyed it
i'm so glad I found your channel! I love how kind and flexible with yourself. I think I've carried this identity of being a 'bloaty person' (stems from a judgemental doctor when I was young) for a long time. Embracing and celebrating that my stomach expands could really help. Also, this video was a great reminder to chew slower. One tip that's helped me is to make sure I actually swallow each mouthful before putting new food in my mouth, cause I noticed I would only chew halfway and shovel more in (fellow slob here lol) -- often putting my fork down helps reinforce this habit.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I really feel you on this! I have a chronic illness which makes me extra sensitive to pretty much anything in life, I def have a lot of IBS symptoms and I find keeping an eye on the low fodmap list is very helpful whenever I'm feeling gassy/uncomfortable. I ended up cutting out gluten, really really didn't want to and still longing for proper bread, pasta and pizza, but I'm so happy I'm not in horrible pain every day anymore so it's worth it for me. Now if I have any pain I usually can pinpoint what caused it and can dial back a little bit (without cutting out) on whatever is causing a reaction - which can be different every time lol.
My personal favorite way of getting veggies in quickly is making smoothies - I usually do strawberries, raspberries, banana, spinach (all of these things frozen), greek yoghurt, flax seeds, chia seeds, water and a little apple juice. Delicious and I love that I can really pack in the spinach without it affecting the taste. Another fave is pineapple, ginger, clementine, banana, spinach and kale. :) vegetable soups are also great and I keep my freezer stocked during fall/winter.
Thank you for making this video, it’s refreshing to see a dietician also can struggle with some digestive issues. I’m a Nutrition and Health coach and eat very healthy and give a lot of advice on eating healthy, but started to doubt myself when some of these digestive issues arose. I have learned there will be some foods that always be more of a trigger for me than others. So for example I love broccoli but eating too much of it just doesn’t work for me. So even for healthy foods the rule applies: too much is not necessarily better. Luckily there is a huge variety of healthy foods we can choose from. I also learned it helps to blend my fruits with my veggies in a smoothie (still all the fiber in there, but nicely pre-chewed so the speak) as I’m also a busy mum of two and it’s just hard to find the time to chew everything for a long time. Then the fruit just sits there in your stomach and ferments. Not a good situation lol Hope this helps and thanks for making this video 🙏
Thank you for sharing your experience!
I used to work with Plastic Surgeons while correcting Diastasis Recti, the outcomes are great from the surgery. I love watching your vlogs Abbey!! Registered Dieticians make such a valuable difference in peoples lives, love your work xoxo
Thank you! ❤️
For me raw ginger, yoga, exercise, peppermint tea and mindful eating/chewing well/avoiding overeating at all costs really help!
Thank you so much for posting this! I was dealing with bad stomach bloating and pain. I also eat super fast (mom of two!) and chug sparkling water. It got so bad I was doubled over most nights. What made the biggest difference was limiting the bubble water. I was having around 2-4 a day. I still might have one a week but the difference in how I feel has been worth cutting way back. I think the next step for me is chewing my food better. (Shout out to exercising regularly too)
Like you, I only like sparkly water and can't stand flat water (unless I'm working out or quite dehydrated). I believe I have IBS based on my gas and diarrhea symptoms, so I know I should strive to drink more flat water, but it's so hard to make myself do it, and it helps to know that someone like you struggles with the same issue. Thanks for putting this out there for us, and thanks for showing your methods to make flat water more appealing to you!
I'm glad that was helpful!
have you done a “what i eat in a day” video?? i’d love to see one
Hey Abbey! Loved this video
I'll have a look at that!
Castor oil will definitely get your digestive tract right.
I remember my Granma holding my nose & giving me a big tablespoon full as a kid. With a slice of orange to chase that nasty flavor.
I love this type of more "vloggy" videos ^^ Hope you do more
Glad you enjoy them! Happy new year!
Those were great tips that I will definitely start to employ. I struggle so hard to drink enough water and one thing I’ve found to help me is the app Plant Nanny. It sends me reminders to drink as well as makes it into a little “game”.
I totally get that!
So excited for another Abbey video! I always learn something new 💕 best wishes!
So glad!
Thank you for this, Abbey! Your content is so helpful!
Thanks for sharing about your experience, Abbey! 😊
I don’t normally comment, but something that recently changed the game for me: Belly Comfort tea by Traditional Medicinals! Two tea bags in the morning, plus an extra bag of whole fennel seed tea added to the cup. Helped so much with bloating! Chewing well is also huge for me.
I'll look into that, thank you!
This is just the video I needed! I just found out I’m pregnant and have been dealing with some major bloating. I love sparkling water so I’ll have to try cutting back a bit and seeing if this works! Thank you so much!! Happy holidays! 💜
So glad it's helpful! Happy holidays!
Hey! Try watering down your sparkling water! You can find what balance of flat to sparkling water you like before you don’t enjoy it anymore. Or you can make your fruit water and add just a half can of sparkling water to be able to enjoy it again. Helped me when I was cutting back on soda! Good luck!
Thanks for the tip!
Oh my gosh I needed this so much! My bloated belly looks like I'm 5 months pregnant 😭😭😭 and the pain 😫
Me too
I seriously love channel. I'm so thankful I found you!! ❤
Thank you! ❤️
When I lived in Asia, I got used to having some miso or kimchi soup in the morning as the first thing before breakfast and I realized that I helps me a lot ☺️ sending you love!! 💓
Great idea!
What a great journey to understand your body better!
Totally!
Awww your dog is so amazing! As for bloating, it sucks so much. I mean, I have no idea what it's like to be a mom and trying to deal with your own health, but when I was having really bad bloating, none of the advice ever helped. Besides maybe some light exercise. The only thing that helped eventually is lowering stress and eating more hearty meals. And that, my friend, I'm sure is not an available option for a mega busy mom. Feel better!
I feel like this is my favorite video of yours that I've watched so far. :)
So glad!
I experience severe bloating due to a rare birth defect. It can be excruciating and seriously affect my ability to do much of anything including sleep. Thank you for doing this video! I love your channel! ❤️ P.S. mom guilt is real! I feel ya! But we deserve our attention just as much as our children and it does not make us selfish! Go self care!
I'm sorry! Thank you for sharing your experience ❤️
As a Dental Hygienist, lime and lemon water can really erode your teeth. We also see a lot of dental disease in people who drink fruit smoothies. Blueberries are not bad but most fruit has too much sugar and acid. ✌🏻
I love these vlog/follow you around type videos!
So glad you enjoy them!
Yoga helps me so much, especially the happy baby pose. There are so many good yoga videos on here for digestion and gas.
Thanks for the tip!
I love the video! After years of terrible pain, when I was 16 I was diagnosed with IBS. I went through months of eliminating different foods but nothing seemed to work. Every evening I would look heavily pregnant and be debilitated with gas pain. I now know beans and legumes make my IBS worse and if I'm stressed or have a long gap between meals then I am more likely to be bloated. I used to eat 4/5 small meals a day which really helped but there's no way I can do that with my current job! However, about 5 years ago I started running to loose some weight and discovered that it not only helped with my stress issues but also almost completely rid me of any IBS pain! I have my more gassy/bloated days (don't we all?) but I am never in the pain I used to be in. Plus I've now been regularly running for 5 years and have run 15 half marathons :D

As someone who deals with bad gas pain A LOT, I would suggest eating your veggies cooked - already partly digested, and you can then not have to chew as much - have half sparkling water, half plain water to transition - and my big one - Gas-X is your friend (I buy in bulk on Amazon!), as well as laying on your side if you get a minute when the pain is bad. (and yes, I had 2 boys, so I know how crazy busy it gets!)
Thank you for the suggestion!
After every video all I want to say is Thank you! And I like you so much! So bloody smart.
Loved this style of video. A little bit like a vlog, but with a lot of great advice and ideas.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Years ago I was diagnosed with IBS. It all started with a very bad bloating and cramping, happening first thing in the morning without even eating or drinking anything. It was so frustrating and it was affecting my entire activity during the day. The drugs I started to take were doing almost nothing, because they worked only on the symptoms, not on the root cause. So, my doctor suggested me to start jogging or go for more alert walks (seems like when you do this kind of movement, your intestins are moving in a "gas realising" way too ). For me it worked the best and now I experience bloating very rarely. Also, for making water drinking more appealling, try cold overnight infused tea. It is so good and it is so easy to adapt it to your taste. Hope you the best!
Thank you for sharing what works for you!
Just an idea to get you a little bit of carbonation along with cutting down on as much of it: Maybe letting it sit a little and flatten just a tad. Granted, you're still going to have a little carbonation to cause some minor bloat. But maybe with a tiny bit less carbonation, you'll see improvement in bloat. I like to let mine sit for 15 minutes or so open in the fridge or on the counter to reduce the amount of it that I drink. Mine is because bubbles give me a little acid reflux.
Postpartum is such a hard time to deal with this type of thing. When my 3rd was born my oldest was having nonstop ibs-D. After months of trial and error we figured out that he, my baby, and myself all had fructose malabsorption. With a few small tweaks my oldest stopped having ibs symptoms and his mood improved dramatically (His pain was causing tantrums). My baby stopped spitting constantly/started sleeping better. I no longer had chronic abdominal pain. We still all eat our trigger foods occasionally (apple pie at thanks giving is a requirement ). It was hard to go through the process at the time, I’m glad we did it.
