when I first heard of this an hour ago and saw the contraption I couldn't figure out how it fed the pellets into the grill. Now I see that it doesn't. You are basically turning your grill into an offset with the device being the firebox. Thank you.

Only know personally about pellet stoves for heating as opposed to wood stoves but for cooking in theory a truly amazing product as combines best of both pellet and woodfire without being either. Not an expert on Traeger Grills but love the reviews I've seen would an understatement. *"The Flattop Grill Wars"* definitely now well underway would appear.

I like the idea of this because the pellet fuel (and ash!) is outside the grill. That gives you roughly 25% more cooking space compared to using a charcoal pile inside the grill. Then there is a hassle of adding charcoal during the cook. I've cooked about 10-12 whole turkeys over the years via Weber charcoal and it is a challenge adding fuel and cleanly getting rid of the ash. Usually I cover the turkey with foil while dealing with the ash, but it's a hassle that I think this device would solve. Also with the charcoal pile inside the grill there's just not enough space on the cold side for more than like a 16 lb turkey.

Great timing, tom! I got the email from Them about the sale. Am really contemplating it. I was thinking of putting it on the side vents so if I lift the kettle handle enough, it will still roll around. Haven’t seen anyone post a video of the 22 hooked on the side, yet. Also, I see your unit has a 275 option, whereas other videos I’ve seen, it goes 250 to 300 degrees.

I think the spider 22 is extremely well engineered and built. That said… I don’t really know where their market is. A fully functioning pellet grill for a few dollars is cool, but you can get a complete z grill, or pit boss, etc for about the same money these days. And then you have a shiny new grill too. I really like mine and like the idea, would reccomend to anyone. But I just don’t get who is buying one of these.

I have been looking for a pellet grill but really didn’t want to have another appliance laying around. I have a Weber Smokey Mountain and a Weber kettle that I use 90% of the time. Problem where I live is later in the summer we always have fire restrictions so we can’t use charcoal or burn wood in a smoker/grill. We can however use a propane grill or a pellet smoker. Thinking this might be my answer!

  • @josecarrasco2007

I LOVE my Spider-22 Pellet Adapter!❤️How much?🤔 I'm on my second one after three years. My first original one is still working well!🔥🔥🔥
Of course it doesn't taste like food cooked on a traditional wood/charcoal smoker/grill. It will always taste better with charcoal/wood to you, if that is what you are used to. No doubt about it!
    I keep myself aware that:
•It is an attachment to the Weber Kettle, not a grill by itself!
•It is a different source of fuel: WOODEN PELLETS, fed through the Spider-22 Pellet Adapter, attached to the well stablished, time tested Weber Kettle Grill!
•It tastes as different as when you cook with gas, electric or other non
    conventional wood or charcoal methods.
But you could have it both ways with the Spider-22 Pellet Adapter and the Weber Kettle. Don't get me wrong. I own both an offset and a Weber Kettle grill, but not a traditional pellet grill ($$$). I love the flavor of my offset and my Weber Kettle. I can switch from the pellet adapter to the Weber Kettle (charcoal mode) in a few minutes if I want. But I also love the convenience of using my weber kettle as a pellet grill with my Spider-22 Pellet Adapter (no tools required to attach/detach), for those quick, small gatherings, no time to mess with charcoal, tired from working all day, away from rain, cold, heat or windy situations. Miss the distinctive offset or kettle wood/charcoal flavor? Nothing that a backyard's "pit master" little creativity and/or a smoke tube couldn't fix. Not the same, but fairly close.😋🔥
