I cooked a 7 lb turkey breast today with my Weber 22 / Spider Venom. Lightly seasoned the turkey breast with oil and garlic salt. Set the unit for 300 degrees and cooked it in a cast iron skillet for 4 hours until turkey breast internal temp of 150, then wrapped it in foil, cooked to 172, then took off grill to rest covered upside down for 2 hours. Fantastic.

Got it about 4 months ago. Love it! A “set and forget” grill/ smoker. Highly recommend it for anyone who smokers on their Weber. And a lot less expensive than a pellet pooper!

    1) First cook with one yesterday. Amazing! Rock solid on the temos sst at 275*. Did spike to 296* when I took the lid off to spritz, I closed the top vent until it went bsck to 275*, stayed there.
    2) 40 minutes to get the thing on. Fustrating. Worth it though!

I just installed mine. 1)Couple things to note: keep track of your vent handle. If it is not quite right, you will need to mark the NEW vent door to show 0% & 100%. 2) wear heavy work gloves. When you have to muscle the venom into place for the clips to work, you will be putting all your weight on a somewhat sharp edge. All while using a screwdriver to bend the flex tabs into place.

My spider venom holds about +/-3 degF for 6+ hours using the minion method (fill up the offset coal holder leaving a space on one side for about 10 coals and let the coals burn from one side to the other).
Install was easy. I really like it. Turns a $100-200 Weber into a legit smoker. Webers smoke OK with a snake method you baby sit them, but the venom makes it soooooo easy.

Honestly, I own both, and while I love the SnS Kettle, assembling it is a MAJOR pain in the butt. So it wouldn't be that simple just to take off the ash catcher and put on the spider venom, on the SnS. Also the SnS comes pre drilled with a hole where you can install a regular temperature sensor / fan kit. The Weber kettle doesn't, so this is perfect for that.
