  • Kelsey Grammer went to Juilliard on a scholarship, but still had to work two jobs to make it through the year. He would work nights at a hotel, and then immediately go to his job working construction. Grammer still struggled to make ends meet, even sleeping in the park for a few weeks. He describes the financial lessons he learned from that time, and the moment he realized he had to quit working if he was going to make it as an actor.

    Thinking about him being basically homeless, working 17 hours and then becomes one of the most successful television actors of all time. Inspirational.

    • @ATINKERER
      @ATINKERER 4 года назад

      It may be awe inspiring, but I would hope no one finds it inspirational enough to believe that this is the way to be a big success. Very few can ever make a living in the entertainment field, and not even one in a million becomes successful at it. It's hard enough to become successful in ANY field, and betting it all on the dream that you'll become this or that, just because it's your dream job, is a big mistake. That follow your dream at all costs mentality has destroyed more people and caused more heartache than cancer ever has.

    My parents favorite show before they passed away was Frasier. My parents, being more intellectually minded appreciated the smart wit not found in any other comedy. When I would come home for Christmas and join them, the one line that caught my attention was when Nigel said, "a handshake is as good as a hug." This was perfectly apropos for my upbringing. To let you know how we McAleers are stiffs, the first time I told my mother I loved her she giggled like a little girl.

      Frasier began when I was in my mid-teens and I absolutely loved it. I still watch reruns to this day. But my former teen friends found it boring, so I rarely hung out with them when it was on. If I had to choose between friends (who don't compromise when it came to the TV remote), and Frasier, I chose Frasier every time, lol!

    Kelsey looks great. Better than years ago. When he mentioned doing laundry and those other chores that made me smile and chuckle. I love doing those kinds of things and drove my parents crazy because I found it very satisfying, even as a young child to help out and see the end result of my hard work. There is something so satisfying to me, even to this day, about doing laundry. Dry and fold. Iron if necessary. I’ve been ironing for 50 years. Thanks for teaching me mom! I used to polish the family shoes too. Dad was in the military and taught me the proper way...um, a little spit was involved.

      I don’t know anything about the YT algorithm or money making side of this but I figure his channel would blow up with subscriptions if he would post the full length interviews & upload them. No one I would think likes watching the fragments. I’ve watched all the episodes on Amazon Prime but YT would be way more convenient for current vids. His show comes on at 130am where I’m at and I’m not staying up for that.

      @@justadudeintheworldman.120 I do, I used to have a decent channel. You get paid $1 for every 1,000 subscribers. So when he makes 20 videos, he makes close to 20 times that amount.

      Well you subscribe to the channel right & not the videos? So the subscribers to the channel is what pays? He would have a lot more subscribers if he posted the full interviews. If you get paid for views as well as subscribers, then I could see where that makes sense.
