My uncle recently died of alcoholism. Sad to watch. I think he had a lot of unresolved grief and a broken heart. I shuddered when I heard Mr. Grammer say that.
My mother-in-law's mother was abandoned by her alcoholic husband back about the same time as Kelsey's grandmother. My mother-in-law's mother told everyone that she was a widow. It was easier to say that vs. saying that she had been abandoned.
I have a disease called Autoimmune Hepatitis - if not diagnosed and medication taken, it can cause cirrhosis of the liver. And I don’t drink! (bummer)! There are no outward symptoms of this disease so I haven’t a clue just how long I’ve has it or where it came from - I has a liver biopsy (can’t remember why) over 20 years ago and boom! So I take medication for it. On the other hand, my great grandfather died of cirrhosis of the liver (about age 60) because he was an alcoholic!
From a previous video, Ellis actually left Genevieve in 1905 (the same year that Evangeline was born). Basically, the couple were married in early 1905 and he left her in November of the same year. So it's roughly been an 9 year gap between abandonment and filing for divorce.
In codifying its laws in 1872 the one operating at the turn of the 20th century, California provided for six divorce grounds: adultery, extreme cruelty, wilful desertion, habitual intemperance, wilful neglect, and conviction of a felony. There wasn't a waiting period (sometime called a cooling off period) as part of this.
All I know about my grandfather is that he had a heartattack after too much smoking and he was 10 years older than her and that they had 5kids( 2 girls 3boys) the"baby" in the family was born after his dad died (one of the sisters was my mother) and now I've got one uncle left and we don't ever talk to him and I mean"we" that's my cousin's,his ex-wife,his kids and me and my sister he's such a stubborn man
at 2:30 you can see the document says Charles Blair Geddes was born in Picts County, Nova Scotia and below that Amelia Rebecca Farr(?) born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The side of the document is off-screen so I'm not sure who they are in relation to his grandmother--could be next of kin?
So he didnt meet any of the Dimmicks... so unitressting show and I guess he is really ignorant and reqlusive as he appears . Should I guess He tld the show I dont want to meet any relative since the show is about me only
I have always liked watching Kelsey act, he is a phenomenal actor and artist, musician - love him In Frazier and movies.

My grandfather was an alcoholic, he died when he fell on the street where he was walking, 1934.
From what I learned from my Mom's situation, if your spouse deserted you, you had to wait 7 years for a divorce decree. This was over 60 years ago.

Cirrhosis of the liver isn't always alcohol induced

So true, my dad had cirrhosis and didn't drink
Diabetic people can get Cirrhosis of the liver just from the sugar in the body fermenting over time.
True
She didn't say it was the only cause she said it was the most common.
Love that man he's amazing
Didn't historically people had to wait seven years before filing for divorce for abandonment? I know my grandmother did.

I'm a 21 year combat veteran currently suffering from alcohol induced liver cirrhosis. It's a pretty sad existence.
🙏
You really should put Part numbers on all these videos if not putting up the entire video. Cant find the Oakland video after this one.
Hepatitis also can lead to cirrhosis of the liver.

Kelsey Is a Great Guy. Kelsey And I Are Friends Now. ☺❤ I Live In Ripon California
Ahh Kelsey, genetics run in cycles. You of most people should have known that your weaknesses did not start with you alone.
Interesting to see parts of the old Bay Bridge in the final scene. It is completely dismantled now
La cirrosis no tiene por qué ser causada por alcohol. Puede ser por contagio de hepatitis, por otras enfermedades e, incluso, por medicamentos.
I saw there was mention of Nova Scotia in the Death Certificate, I'm very curious to know what that Canadian connection is?

@@allyson9188 I think that they were Genevieve's parents so his grandmother Evangeline's maternal grandparents.
If it's on the left hand side, it would be her parents
It's Pictou County not Picts County, typo on death cert.
I noticed that too. Hope this surprising location gets explained. (My paternal ancestors from there.)
Early 1900s party girls were known as "flappers".
The 1920s...
@@MeMeDaVinci That's the early 1900s, do you think I have to be referring to 1900-1901?
🥂 Cheers!
Gemevive was born in Merced County? Who was born there?
No more Sherries
F. A. S. in the family?
Sounds like she couldn't hold her liquor
That wasn’t even clever. Are you a trainee troll?
