I forgot this was already coming out. I enjoyed it during the Next Fest, but I guess it didn't impress me enough to remember it was releasing... or I've just been way too distracted by Helldivers 2...

Impressively middling. Is this our first flat 3?
I had to look it up, but Cartel Tycoon was the only other flat 3.0 haha. Winter Survival also got a 3/5 but with a number of 4s and even a 1 mixed in.
Games like this make me wonder if for a game nowadays it is enough to be mediocre. I am somewhat certain there are at least 15 new games worth playing releasing every month and mediocre just leaves you with no new real sense of satisfaction.
There are plenty strategy-games that absolutely glue you to the screen with hours upon hours of riveting brain-wracking , there are multiplayer-games that encourage you to partake in the community or camaraderie of the match and there are simulation-games where can be or create whatever you want. Sure the prices range from single-digit euro prices to "train-simulator is more important than my credit rating" but you will most certainly find a great game for a price you are willing to pay.
With bad games you know these aren't worth your money. Props to steam with their return policy and demos. You will most likely refund those bad games and will learn another thing you didn't know about yourself. Namely what you didn't like about the game which helps you find the good games.
And then there are mediocre games. This awkward middle ground where you are not sure whether it was worth it or not. And this game right here is aggressively mid.
Great comment! Mid-tier games like Ereban are arguably the hardest to review-crafting an interesting review script is effortless when I'm motivated by a game that either blows me away or sucks eggs, because there's so much to praise/critique... but how do you create an engaging review for a game that in no way stands out? I'm always left with a sense of "What was the point?" after posting reviews like this one to RUclips 😂
