SUNFLOWER!! Need to go check if I have enough to make a mix for a large sunflower!
Last night I was playing around, wanting to mix my own Terre Verte with PG18 & PBr7. I liked it even more than my cascade green! I’m thinking it would look great in a background behind some loose sunflowers..AND could pull the violet out for more contrast in shadows…going to play in a few minutes, Thank you for the inspiration!
How wonderful! Please let us know how it works for sunflowers!
I like when you explore a Daniel Smith watercolor family. It shows me how I can use the colors with my palette. How about exploring the perylenes next? They are very interesting to me. Thanks for showing this .
Great suggestion! I LOVE the perylene color family -
you got your two blues mixed up
Good eye 👀
@@watercolorpour Only because I absolutely LOVE Mayan Blue Genuine!
Those little pots you use are perfect for pouring!
Glad you like them!
Thrilled! I've been eyeing the Mayan watercolours from Daniel Smith 😁
It's so good! 😊
Amazing colour, love the crackle effect.
Thanks so much 😊
Loved this pour, I've always wondered about how to utilize the clay base of the mayan colors and I see the unique look that Mayan Yellow and Violet have in your mix. I've had Mayan Yellow in my palette for awhile and just got the M Violet, M Orange and M Dark Blue, so am looking forward to seeing your future adventures with these paints. Thanks for sharing!
They are Beautiful, it’s a pity not see Mayan Blue + Yellow to try a green Mayan version
At this time there is not a Mayan Green. Next time I do a video on this family of colors I can swatch these color mixes - should be able to get a nice variety of greens with these pigments - thank you for watching.
New Word! Cruderific.
😂🤣😆😂 thank you for watching
That was disappointing not to see all of your video. Please do another video using more of the Mayan colors. I have the Mayan Blue and love the granulation.
Yes sadly my camera stopped recording and I did not realize it had. Will add a part two soon - had to share anyways due to the beauty of this yellow/violet poured.
Beautiful colors! is this a set you can buy like the others or did you get them individually?
Yes according to the Daniel Smith website there is a set but haven’t found it in stores. Here is a link to Daniel Smith sharing more info on these colors danielsmith.com/product-updates/mayan-watercolor-set/
I will ask the DS team and get back to you on where to buy
@@watercolorpour Thank you so very much!
@tlembro there will be new sets coming soon to market, keep an eye out for the Mayans!
@@watercolorpour thank you!
Some Mayan watercolors have horrible lightfast ratings.
If there is any question of lightfast or for fugitive colors like Opera Pink I use Dorlands or Gamblin Cold wax as a varnish.
Cold Wax Medium contains no oil, so it can be applied as a wax varnish over a dry painting. 🐝
I just got the Mayan colors and am excited to use them!
The Mayan colors look very nice, but the ones I’ve tried had a gummy texture.
Hi Gloria, what brand were you using was it one of these in this video?
@@watercolorpour Daniel Smith. Very disappointing, I use mostly that brand, and I generally love them. I have the Mayan Blue Genuine from the primatek introductory set.
