shay mitchell is so on point. her mindset is everything, and i love the way she carries herself with grace. love her to death and forever an icon in my book
Spot on in every way. "And I hope you're happy. If you truly love somebody, you want them to live their happiest life, and if that's not with me- I don't want to force that". Loving someone is wanting them to be happy, with or without you. It's not clinging. Forcing never works and always backfires, getting what you feared. It's not grasping for your own validation and illusionary security through codependency. It's freedom. It's the freedom and flow of choosing each other, with all the space in the world not to. And then you are free too.
I totalllllllly get where Shay is coming from. 10 years ago when I was in my mid 20s, I would have been stressing about guys what they were doing why I didn’t hear from them. But I received advice from my best friend who did long distance for the first 5 years of her relationship with a pro athlete and I asked her how she managed and she said what Shay said. I can’t live my life worrying about if he’ll cheat on me. We’ll cross that bridge if we get there, but for now, I know he loves and wants to be with me, and as long as he keeps returning to me that’s all I’ll concern myself with.
The amount of times I have come back to this video when my anxiety is getting the best of me due to past traumas and wanting to protect my heart. I just need more of Shay in every way.
The " if its meant be it will be" or the it was meant to happen its how I live my life and I love that so much, regardless of how bad or painful my mind always takes me to those conclusions and I can move on.
Jealous and anxiety in relationship is not normal... Let none normalize such.. relationship is about bonding and growing,romance.. anxiety and jealousy is on the darkside( no winning in this).
I don't ever think I've heard this woman speak before now in my life, and I've never watched any shows she's been in, but this just made me an instant fan of her. She's so on point and I swear everything she just said just like.... changed my brain chemistry lol. Thank, you Shay 😩😭🩷
Most know her from playing Emily on Pretty Little Liars lol That was her first acting gig and Wow, has she come a long way in terms of self-confidence ❤
Literally I think the exact same way as Shay and that how I’ve lived my life since I was a little girl. For me it was a trauma response to the disfunction and chaos in my household. I couldn’t sit there worrying abt what “could” happen. And when shit went down it didn’t break me bc I kept it moving and then I heard the saying “everything happens for a reason” and to this day I live my life by that and I love how Shay literally brought that up bc it helps with soo much in life even when bad shit happens, it was for a reason to bring you where you are now. God is always here and just bc shit isn’t going well doesn’t mean he isn’t here, it’s his plan for you.
I love Shay but her response here was a bit off. The way she was repeatedly saying "I am ok if some "deceit" happens cos I'll be ok, I'll co-parent" etc gives the gist that she may have slightly fallen out of love with him and has already come to terms that the relationship might not last. The "he is living his own life and we are just 2 people who came together and had kids" at 1:18 makes it sound like having children is the main purpose of their relationship rather than them being each other's companion for life.
I agreeeeeeee! I was wondering who else felt the same way about her responses. I'm sorry, but if my man, whom I adore, father of my children, etc...cheats...my life will fall apart. I'll be broken for a while, and not be okay. It's okay TO NOT BE OKAY. But that doesn't mean, that you will NEVER heal from your pain. There may be scars but the recovery will take time. Deep emotional feelings don't work like an on/off switch. Shay speaks all typical woman power motivational speaker (which is fine) but it felt out of touch and unrelatable.
@@MJ-fk2ko Shay is saying everything is cool even though it clearly is not. She repeated herself multiple times to almost try and make her self believe that she actually feels that way. You know what is really cool. Being fully invested in your relationship and caring wholeheartedly.
@@MJ-fk2koshe never said it wasn’t okay to not feel okay. When she says things like “if I have to fight for him he’s yours” that means not lessening herself for anyone which is a healthy mindset. There’s nuance in her statements but it comes off as very relatable and not outta touch at all
I am so I love with him you will learn a hard lesson about that like Shay said love yourself more this isn’t a movie. Yes of course it will hurt but the difference between me now and my 20s is I let go faster. We can’t control the outcome and I say now who really cares
This is the first episode I’ve watched of this podcast and was drawn to it because of Shay Mitchell. I have to say I was a little creeped out by the interviewer. They mention wanting to make Shay Mitchell drunk as she’s really well media trained so they would need to get her drunk to get stuff out of her. Almost like a creepy guy trying to get a girl drunk. Towards the end, the interviewer mentions how they want some “tea” because everything about Shay Mitchell so far has been too positive. Is the aim always to draw on an individuals negatives? Seems a little strange. Can’t speak for whether Shay Mitchell felt uncomfortable, but certainly felt uncomfortable to watch.
I understand what you're saying but I think it has more to do with how Shay was fake-positive AF and that's annoying for a show that's all about being real. It's frustrating when people refuse to open up, like why are you even here to begin with?
I feel these questions didn’t allow her to shine through she’s so fun free spirited relaxed happy and her relationship is amazing just watch the video of when they went to Vancouver I felt she was a little on defense because of the interviewer
When you're being interviewed, there's always this tendency to come across as self-assured and as though you've figured life out. I find it boring and cliche.
all I could hear was "he's having fun" which clearly means he's stepping out multiple times. it seems she's chosen to accept that he will never be loyal to solely her... sad to see, but I hope she realises that life can be shared with someone who wants the same things as her
nah I don't think so. She's just using stoic principle here. Deal with things as they come. It's no use to be hurt by imagination that might or might not be real.
The reason it bothers you is because it has nothing to do with something being meant to be. There's no overseer making things happen unless you're in a movie so things don't happen for a reason or because they are meant to be. If you're living real life, then the reason it bothers you is because you know, whether consciously or not, that if you both leveled with each other and made it happen, it would happen and the fact that maybe you want that but your hoped for partner doesn't or isn't behaving like they do makes you jealous and annoyed and all sorts of other things. If we're truthful with each other, these problems go away.
She also doesn't care for marriage or have those "labels"... which is fine, to each their own, but it all makes her responses here make sense. She makes it very clear that she does her stuff and he does his. Sounds like a big divide in a relationship lol. Where's the "we" ? He's the "love of my life" ? Nowhereeeee
@@9crimes87 if she's providing for him then she has someone on the side and that would be why she loves what they have. Women don't respect a man they provide for.
