Hi, I liked the video very much. It has been years since I tested my French skills. My scores in order of your tests were 8/10, 8/10, 5/10, 4/10, 3/10. I need to understand the foundations again. Thanks for your nice video. 28/50 - I passed, but barely. I am not sure if I should attempt a course taught all in french or not.
Thank you Nancy for commenting your score. It's a tricky test, it's all about the irregular and exceptions so 28/50 is actually not that bad 😉 To answer your question for the course in French or not. I usually say that it's more about how much you can focus more than the language itself, especially to brush your foundations. If even in English you can't focus more than 30 minutes, then take a course in English. If you have a great attention span and can focus easily, then go for French. I hope it helps 🙂
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I do have good concentration. When I really want to learn something, I am able to put my mind into it. I listen to music on french stations, love French bands and singers. I would love to read a novel in French as well. I suppose the best way is to have my french/english dictionary handy when I read. Never too late to start learning.
@@nancybryans8165 trust me, do a full French course! I went from not understanding one word or grammar rule in French to bring able to at least get my ideas accrocs in just 3-4 weeks!

When I was 30 I started to learn English and I am happy with it. Now I am 50+ and I started to learn French this February hoping that it is not too late to try. :) I did your test and got 38/50 (6, 9, 5, 9, 9) and it gives me hope that it is not too late. Thank you. :)

A very good and needful test for me as a beginner. Though I scored 38/50, I discovered I need to review my lessons because I ought to score close to 50 as I have gone through all the aspects of the questions, but I have not reviewed most of them for quite a while and was not sure which option to choose. I'm really surprised! I got 41/50 for the whole test, broken down like this: Pronunciation - 6/10 Grammar - 9/10 Spelling - 8/10 Translation - 9/10 Conjugation - 9/10 I'm re-learning French. I passed my GCSE 'O' level over 50 years ago but never spoke French again until about 18 months ago when I began to try again using the internet and CDs - but I didn't try very hard until just a few months ago. Thanks for the quiz - I feel much better about my progress now!

I found this video by chance. I have not learned french since 2 years ago. I wanted to see how much I remember. Pronunciation: 5/10 Grammar: 5/10 Spelling: 8/10 Translation: 5/10 Conjugation: 5/10 Total: 28/50 I feel embarrassed but there were some words I was not taught and therefore I guessed. This has inspired me to learn french again. I hope I can be good enough in some months to get all the questions right.😄

To answer your question for the course in French or not. I usually say that it's more about how much you can focus more than the language itself, especially to brush your foundations. If even in English you can't focus more than 30 minutes, then take a course in English. If you have a great attention span and can focus easily, then go for French.

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I do have good concentration. When I really want to learn something, I am able to put my mind into it. I listen to music on french stations, love French bands and singers. I would love to read a novel in French as well. I suppose the best way is to have my french/english dictionary handy when I read. Never too late to start learning.
@@nancybryans8165 trust me, do a full French course! I went from not understanding one word or grammar rule in French to bring able to at least get my ideas accrocs in just 3-4 weeks!

I have to say that the pronunciation was very specific, more of an intermediate level.
A very good and needful test for me as a beginner. Though I scored 38/50, I discovered I need to review my lessons because I ought to score close to 50 as I have gone through all the aspects of the questions, but I have not reviewed most of them for quite a while and was not sure which option to choose. Very happy with this result considering I've been learning French for 2 months now by myself at home. So it makes sense that I struggle with prononciation because I don't do much talking lol
