"Nothing Else Matters'' was covered by a cello quartet called Apocalyptica, who actually started out playing Metallica covers. You may have heard some of their more recent collaborations with mainstream artists.
Ajax the gorgon didn’t ask Enid to the dance because it was one of those dances where the girls ask the guys. Technically Enid didn’t ask Ajax. The other girl asked Ajax, and he probably said yes bc Enid didn’t ask.
"You rang" is one of Lurch's iconic lines from the 60s TV show. I love this cover of Nothing Else Matters. It's a beautiful song in its own right, but this version in particular is FANTASTIC.
Don't wanna sound like a dick, I think the dance-scene is great (and Jenna Ortegas performance in general in this show), but being as old as I am, I think the hype about that scene is pretty funny. It's basically how a lot of the girls danced back in the 80s/90s in indi/goth/underground clubs. Again, no disrespect, she nailed it, and I would have never imagined back than that a Cramps-Song would ever make it into such a TV-Show. It's just strange when something that was "normal" in my time causes such a hype now.
@Mr TV Eye I agree. These types of dances were being done at the prom in the mid 90s. But they gave this kid free rein to create her own choreography and she blended just the right balance of each style to make it work. I guess the part I'm most impressed with is she seized an opportunity and nailed it. Not a lot of today's young people would have pulled it off on their own.
@Metzwerg74 that's my point. She did pretty good for someone in a generation of everything old is lame. I saw each of these styles at my highschool dances in the 90s.
According to Jenna Ortega herself, she put together the whole dance the day before the where scheduled to shoot the scene. She said, in an interview, that she had been so busy in the weeks leading up to it doing "cello and fencing" that she never got around to it.
'that guy was evil and they dedicated an entire town to him' - Stalingrad, Columbia/Columbus, Edison, Puerto Cortés, Sutter, Ferney-Voltaire, Ettelbruck, Bismark, Napoleon/Bonaparte, Stonewall, a lot of the time being a good person is a matter of audience and even then it may not matter
What is more impressive than having a straight face for some of it, is the more impressive face that she made a point to not blink during any scenes and her tenacity is impressive. I found out after like the 3rd episode and I paid attention for the remaining episodes and i counted like maybe 10-15 blanks for the remaining episodes....once you notice it it's hard to miss. Her and the Siren ( I can't remember her name) she also doesn't blink in many scenes.
What more impressive is she doesn't even blink when the red paint is running over her eyes. I'd like to think they cg'd that effect but knowing jenna it was probably real.
@@DocDarkness it was kind of weird to be honest, and you're right, even with things near her eyes she doesn't blink much. I saw the short (youtube short) showing her talking about and and the remaining epi's I paid attention and only counted I think 20 blinks. Bianca didn't blink much either, but she also didn't look conscious or focused on it, but Jenna made one hell of an effort.
@@Daremo6969 she did an interview in Brazil where the crowd challenged her to go as long as she could without blinking, she accepted the challenge and lasted close to 2 min, to the point her eyes were watering and started tearing.
As mentioned below, the reason why Ajax didn't ask Enid to the dance was because this dance was a "girl ask boy" dance. Xavier did not ask Wednesday he stood there and hinted till she asked him and then after they had there little fall out Bianca asked him and Enid was mad at Ajax for standing her up so she did not ask him and we don't know if the other girl Ajax showed up with at the dance asked Ajax before or after Enid and Lucas decided to go together. Also if you remember Weems telling Thornehill that when she attended this very same dance when she was younger that the guy she asked to the dance had already been asked by Morticia.
I felt like there was at least one good throwback in every episode (other than the first one which was just crammed with them) to something from the IP. that fans would recognize. In the second episode, it was the *snap snap*.

16:43 Yes, Nothing Else Matters... performed by Finnish metal cello quartet Apocalyptica 🤘 Official music vid: ruclips.net/video/mjvGjUovxPU/видео.html
I feel the one misstep the show made was around Wednesday's motivation around investigating the prophecy/vision about her destroying Nevermore Academy. Rather than it because she sees it as a "wrong" type of evil (which feels somewhat arbitrary), I feel it would've made much more sense if Wednesday was trying to stop it purely in objection to it being a prophecy/vision in the first place - i.e. if she is going to destroy Nevermore Academy, she is going to do it on her terms and not because of someone else's prophecy/vision. 😁😁
Wednesday is many things, but she'd not really a bully though. Bullies target underdogs. Wednesday is protective of underdogs (like her brother, Eugene, and Enid). Bullies manipulate people to feel powerful. Wednesday manipulates people to get the information she needs to save the school (she literally calls it "my biggest nightmare" to be the cause of the school and students getting destroyed). Bullies humiliate people to look cool and powerful themselves. Wednesday humiliates people as revenge for them mistreating underdogs. Some people think that with socially unacceptable behaviour, motivation doesn't matter, but I think it does.
5:30 "she has great skin". The show is consistently using type of face smoothing filter not dissimilar to a snapchat filter to create the aesthetic of the show. I noticed it right away and I just can't unsee it. I think it's fine and the show looks good. Probably is a bit overused though.
I love the message of a black man (of all people) as mayor celebrating a pilgrim in the same way the US celebrates slavemasters in real life. Nice touch! Her rendition of Winter as the statue burns was absolutely perfect! 👍

💗I Love this Show💗
chaga is made of mushrooms but it tastes like coffee.
Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
10:43 Lurch call back to OG TV series.
37:00 I think they meant unreliable as in unpredictable. They always come true, but they strike at the worst times.
So much fun! Great job
Greta is even badder than Wednesday. She sent Andrew the pizza.
@12:33 "She's a child."
*Tell that to the vatican.*
@12:52 "That guy was evil!"
*V, you may wanna read a non-USA history book about the pilgrims...*
5:30 "she has great skin". The show is consistently using type of face smoothing filter not dissimilar to a snapchat filter to create the aesthetic of the show. I noticed it right away and I just can't unsee it. I think it's fine and the show looks good. Probably is a bit overused though.
The idea of pilgrims being jocks and bullies is hilarious. 🤣 However, those Santa belt-buckles and knee high pants don’t give them any street-creds.
Shame so many people miss the Uriah Heep reference.
Uriah Heep is the name of a rock band from the late 60s and 70s
Demons & Wizards is my favorite album. 😁
@Jacob Zumbrennen I was particularly fond of the Abominog Album
The stupid buckle shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Crazy but it's true.
She looks like a more attractive Beverly Mitchell. If you don't know who I'm talking about she played on 7th Heaven as Lucy Camden.
I can see it
10:24 Like all guys... He's not psychic.
Physical is a banger, I cast shame upon you.
He didn't ask another girl. Girls asked the guys to The Raven.
I love the message of a black man (of all people) as mayor celebrating a pilgrim in the same way the US celebrates slavemasters in real life. Nice touch!
Her rendition of Winter as the statue burns was absolutely perfect! 👍
