Looks like a fun tool if you have little snow. I just finished blowing snow our light snow over night just two feet and drifts up to three. 10 1/2 HP and had to run it in first gear and do some spill out clean up. I think I’d still be searching with my shovel to find this thing. I live on the plains of Canada 🇨🇦.
@wocookie2277 just think you could've woken up to a cleared drive with a yarbo! It'd work all night long to keep clearing the snow as it falls. Idk where you are in Canada and how much annual snowfall is there. In Silverthorne, CO at 9000ft elevation where this was filmed it averages 13.1ft/yr. 😏
@ it’s a dream to actually find a robot to do my driveway. 1600 sqft and takes about an hour when over a foot deep with a $1700 snowblower. And my drift cutters are four feet high and I use them them yearly. Would be handy in Ontario or the west coast. But our snow drifts get hard enough you can ride a quad over without sinking no problem.
How about the ability to tune the area to be cleared? Adjusting the right side of the drive (looking at the house) and having it get tight to the garage door.
yes, that is fully programable when you set up the boundaries. We intentionally did not get close to the garage doors on this video because there was a 6in thick ice mound from snow melt from the little decorative roof above the garage.
Ya call that a snowstorm? Here in Newfoundland we call that Monday, we just had a snowstorm and it dropped 36 inches of snow, that little thing wouldn't stand a chance!
Per a generic google search Newfoundland averages 9.8ft of snowfall/yr. In Silverthorne, CO at 9000ft elevation where this was filmed it averages 13.1ft/yr. Not that different! 😏
The point is, it works on it's own, so it can be sent out multiple times to stay ahead of the storm. Yeah, if you had to get up 4 times during the night to run it, or use a lesser snow blower, it would be a pain. But you don't - set it and forget it. My bigger concern would be the ease with which someone could steal it!
Heck I'm in Colorado and was thinking the same thing, That was barely any snow at all. I understand it can o out many times but depending on how long the charge cycle is, it may run into well over a foot of snow. I'd like to see it with some more impressive snow depths.
Very interesting. I spent a few years shoveling snow before I moved to warmer climates where this is not an issue. Part of me is impressed, part of me is concerned. Snowblowers are sort of dangerous. Pets, pet chains, leases, snowplows shovels, bown debris, and more could cause an issue for the snowblower. Shoveling snow can be dangerous too; slips falls, broken bones, hurt backs so these could be real benefits. The little vaccums cleans roombas have been very popular, in a few years maybe a bunch of people will have these. These could be real beneficial for larger snow removal companies that need parking lots cleared. If something like his were outfitted with gas power, or multiple changable battery packs, -so it can keep on working- it could clear a large locations like a shopping center or school continuously saving a lot of money on manual plowing. Putting in Electric heat and heating the driveway is expensive on the power bill, but cheap compared to the cost of hiring it done each time.
It's designed to work in the cold and special treatment is done to keep the battery happy when its subzero. More info on the battery can be found on their website.
Also, it takes a super long time for batteries to come down to temperature that is ambient. It doesn't have to be stored out in the cold when you're not using it. And a little bit of heat is generated when you are.
So what happens when it’s out working and it’s still snowing and the charging station gets covered with snow and it needs to recharge? How does it get any juice when the charger is all blocked up? Just asking.
I remember this part of Silverthorne before this development was annexed, It supported elk, deer and moose herds. Now it supports parking lots and cars.

It seems like it would way more effective being larger. Maybe not quite the size but definitely larger. Seriously considering this for my mom.
Nice video thanks! Seem that the tech is all there, but still needs more brute power to tackle the places that someone would've spent almost 7k CAD on it. For the same price, you can buy a lawn tractor with the snowblower attachement and clear that easy, and use the tractor all other 3 seasons ( just like yarbo proposes)
@graffix11us its electric so quieter than a gas snowblower. Probably about as loud as a plow truck plowing. dont get me wrong, its not quiet but I dont find it obtrusive
The problem with snow blowers is (usually) after the snow is blown there remains a little layer of ice that is more slippery to walk on than the snow was.

"Beautiful" Silverthorne, Colorado? I've lived here in the area for almost half a century and what the short sighted town council and commissioners have done to the town is criminal. Turned a once peaceful fun town into a shithole of condos, hotels, parking garages, and the like. And what is it with all the flat roofs in the ongoing construction? This is supposed to be an alpine environment and yet all the new commercial and residential building all heve flat roofs. WTF? Countless traffic lights (all untimed), congestion, crime, you name it. So if you really wan't to stretch your imaginationa and call this "beautiful", be my guest.
So many people there are bitter and rather vicious towards anything new, completely ignoring the fact that they can leave whenever they want if it’s too much to handle
If I was your neighbor it'd be like having a crack or a meth head next door working on their shirt starting at 2 in the morning and going all night. Blower running, lights on running back and forth like a 24-hour job site. has your neighbor ever mowed his grass at 3:00 a.m? did you think it was awesome? How long does that thing keep up with a two or three inch an hour storm that goes all night? It would be handy as a Suburbia toy if you had a small perfect concrete driveway or some type of sidewalk I could work on . Shovels are cheap and they provide good exercise. Lol
Spending hours plowing the driveway isn't exactly good time management. We already have effective technology for that task , shovel or radiant heat, pick one.
Pro tip, why bother clearing the driveway? I bought a 4wd truck so I don’t have to shovel, just drive out. If it is so bad I can’t get the truck out, everything is shut down anyway. I would have spent the money on a nice vacation to a beach destination instead😂
@@rustneversleeps01 My driveway is two cars wide, 60 feet long. It is about a mile of road that isn’t plowed/serviced by the city to get to a street that is. Spent 18 K on the truck 2015 Tacoma (purchased 2016) It serves multiple functions, commuting, hauling for property clean up and materials for property improvement and gets me up into the mountains for outdoor recreation. 4WD allows me to get away from the crowds, the Subaru drivers and their yippy dogs.
@@kevindowell6003 Pro tip. I also have big 4th trucks that laugh at snow, and clear my driveway and sidewalk religiously. Letting snow sit all winter is a fools game, it warms and almost melts and refreeze, or sits and get snowed on again, if you haven’t already you WILL fall. Nope. Plus it’s relaxing to go out with a snowblower and clear, it’s like men’s zen. That’s why we have power tools. You let your grass grow uncut too?
@@wyo_garage20 Foremost my post was intended to be tongue in cheek and not taken too seriously. Sometimes humor is lost in text. And there are other factors that come into play that may not be present for everyone. I get enough snow, but not as much as others deeper in the mountains. Also My driveway faces east and has clear exposure on the south side so it gets a good dose of sun. From the middle it slopes to either side and slopes away from the garage to the street, so excellent drainage and clearing. I don’t have snow on my driveway all winter. I never have to walk on the driveway, I access my garage from the house. The driveway connects to a road that doesn’t have a sidewalk. I would be at greater risk falling shoveling or using a snowblower, walking on the snow, than never walking on the driveway. I shovel my front walk to the sidewalk and the sidewalk because people walk on it and don’t want anyone to fall. I would rather shovel, now that is a man’s Zen physical activity instead of reliance on a machine, that would cheat myself of the activity and time out in the weather that is enjoyable. Even though I have a chainsaw, I prefer to use an axe and saw to manage the trees on my property. I have it dialed in pretty good with the variety of grasses and clover in my yard, my water and nutrient schedule so that the grass is green but only needs to be mowed every other week. When I mow, (I think my lawn is about .7 acre haven’t ever officially measured it) I use a push reel mower. For the same reason I shovel, I enjoy the activity. There is no need or benefit to clearing my driveway, I can use that time for something else, which often includes a nice walk or a hot cup of coffee enjoying the sunrise, building snowmen, snowball fights with the kids, now grandkids. I enjoy work, but I don’t see the point in unnecessary work. Nor do I see the point of spending money for something that I don’t need. As I age, I imagine I will get to the point a snowblower becomes the best choice, I hope I live long enough a robotic snow blower is desired. But until then I will still poke a little fun just because that is my nature, I will enjoy the manual physical aspect of maintaining my property and enjoy my time that I have because I am thoughtful about what work needs to be done, versus what would just be busy work, enjoy my money by not spending it on things that don’t enhance my life instead spend it on something that does. If the novelty of a robotic blower enhances someone’s life, good for them. If you enjoy the snowblower instead of manually shoveling, good for you. So pro tip, sometimes people are just having a little fun with their posts

Lithium batteries rarely blow up unless abused. They are either cheap Chinese brands, or idiots are trying to get more power out of them. Like gas, if properly stored and handled, they are perfectly safe. But if I ever have a house fire, I'd rather have a bunch of lithium batteries in my garage than a container of gas for my mower/snowblower/string trimmer, etc.
it will only cost you one leg and one kidney
@@TheMusicHeals.kjhjhhg same as 2yrs of snow removal service.
That thing should be able to park itself in the garage. Even open and close the garage door on it's own. Why does it need to sit outside??? Build it a dog house. lol

Less than 2inches WOW
“Yea it’s so terrible that other people can live here, this town is for me and me only!”
So many people there are bitter and rather vicious towards anything new, completely ignoring the fact that they can leave whenever they want if it’s too much to handle
@coloroadomo.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Heat driveway and walks..... fix all that
that's slightly more expensive...
@NaterTater not as bad as you might think.....
Lol
Ridiculous - yet hilarious.
two words.... Heated Driveway.
two words.... Existing Driveway.
Can only do 3 inches at a time. no thanks.
@DManGrand it can do more but with it being automous it makes sense to send it out more often.
Spending hours plowing the driveway isn't exactly good time management. We already have effective technology for that task , shovel or radiant heat, pick one.
that's the beauty of this, YOU don't spend time shoveling or plowing. The robot does!
Pro tip, why bother clearing the driveway? I bought a 4wd truck so I don’t have to shovel, just drive out. If it is so bad I can’t get the truck out, everything is shut down anyway. I would have spent the money on a nice vacation to a beach destination instead😂
@kevindowell6003 how much did you spend on truck ? Is it diesel?
How long is your driveway ?

Lolz...show some real depth....
The point is that this is automatic. You can have it running from when the snow starts until it ends. That means it will never have to deal with "real depth" since you're not going to wait for the storm to end.
