I was a kid when Robert Smith was on tour, and I remember watching him on TV, and just being in total shock with how much power he had. He was like a super hero.
This was among the best talent bowling has seen. He did things on the lanes I havent seen since. He was a terror even in juniors well before he turned pro.
The Right Lane, That was a fantastic upload of the Best Moments of Robert Smith. Also, The Best Moments of Robert Smith that stood out were the Title Matches of the 2000 U.S. Open against Norm Duke and the 2002 Japan Cup against Chris Barnes. Also, The Other best moment that would also feature was the Title Match of the 2002 Empire State Open against Jason Couch. Also, I am looking forward to the next best or Worst Moments from the Bowlers from the past Seasons on the Pba Tour that you are planning to upload next week.
Thank you for doing this on Robert smith, and you know what the odd thing is? He's just now back into the game it seems, although he's no longer with storm - - he's with Brunswick and advertising Ball Reviews on their channel.
I will attest that Tokyo port bowl has some weird pinfall. The lanes are really old wood. I saw Barnes pick up a 7-10 to make a telecast there a few years back.
How can a one handed bowler that uses his thumb max out at 740 rpm's? Un-freakin'-real !!!! Why doesn't Randy Peterson mention him when he mentions high rev rates and ball speed?
Ej is maxing out at 525. Ej brings it every time. Robert smith in his prime was 580-600 all the time and could get to almost 700. That is 15% more on average and 30% more when he really hit it. Only one hander who has the rev rate even close to maximum bob is Anthony Neuer who is 570-590 usually and can get to 650-675. But now with 2 handers, I’ve seen many kids as young as 15 with 600+ revs consistently.
Do a video on the Pete Weber Light versions of the Bad Boy of Bowling comprised of Brian Voss, Danny Wiseman, and Brad Angelo. I think Voss is my all time favorite bowler. Just like the werewolf who was drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's, Voss' hair was perfect. Still is. He's got a perfect head of hair.
@joedirte6525 incorrect. 30 years ago an avg rev with reactive didn't have NEAR the advantage as these boy loving 500rpm 2 handers with very little skill but the revs make up for it.
if you compare average rev rate, i.e. what they actually used most of the time, ej is equivalent. robert's max is higher of course, you can't really beat having longer levers at this level of biomechanical efficiency, but he never actually used it. what ej doesn't have is robert's ability to throw it 20+ mph. ej maxes out at like 18, maybe 19. robert could literally throw it through the back of the building at 21 mph DOWN LANE. however, i think this is more a testament to ej's foresight, rather than a critique on his physical capability, in prioritizing finesse and shotmaking early in his career over maxing out every shot the way robert did for a long time. i never learned what exactly happened to robert, if his injuries were bowling-related or not. i remember on, i think it was the chicago one where he was lofting, one of the commentators said something about snapping hip syndrome.

Two classic lines from Maximum Bob in one game, "it just popped" and "cant hook in the air"
You forgot "Welcome back, Bobby"! 😄

The Bo Jackson of bowling. One of the GOATs of the PBA. 💯
He always wanted to borrow my blue hammer back when he was 13 years old bowling in juniors.
2002 Empire State Open is my favorite show of Robert

Yup, and he’s still cranking it! Probably not 600+ anymore, but I bet he still touches 500-550 revs easy.
@@MPIEMDRailfan4 He has a vid on his channel measuring his revs, he can still hit 600+ when he really cranks on it
Interestingly he recently started posting on his RUclips channel and it's nice to have him back.
He sounds like he could be a voice actor now.
He was a very powerful man. The revs he put on a ball were incredible. He made mark Roth look like he threw a not very powerful ball. Fun to watch.
Bob made the pins tremble in fear with his power and speed.
You should consider adding "Maximum Bob" to the title. Might increase views!
He was fun to watch with so many revs. It would’ve been a treat to see him against EJ in a finals match.
It is worth mentioning that in all three segments, the scoring conditions were clearly very tough.
Yeah that’s pretty cool forced to make a 3-10 to win, I miss those half the time I shoot at it so I wouldn’t want to be forced to make that

Day 4 of asking for the best or worst moments of Kyle troup's career
Robert has a pro shop at my bowling alley I go to. I have gotten balls drilled and gotten inserts.

Maximum Bob is my hero!!!!!
Maximum Bob is still a BEAST! 🤔
Maximum bob baby👍👍👍
Maximum Bob 💪
Isn't EJ Tackett rev count similar?
Nope. EJ is in the high 400s.
Ej is 510-530 so yeah similar rev rate
No, ej is low-mid 500's.

I wouldn’t file Wiseman as a “Bad Boy”, more just edgy. I’d sub in Patrick Allen in that slot.
MAXIMUM BOB son
Revs WITH a thumb, making revs the right way not like these little limp wristed beta 2 handers of today.😅

Also one handers who don't use their thumb but I rather watch one-hander thumbless than two-handers.
@@thebriangroves Cry me, and all 2 handers a river.
