What's better than bowling a 300 game??
In my last video I did a recap of one of the best PBA seasons of all time. I had a suggestion to do a recap video for the 2008-2009 season as it was full of shocking moments and record setting victories.

WORST Mike Scroggins moments on TV | PBA Bowling Rewind

Mike Scroggins is a PBA player that I think doesn’t get anywhere near the credit he deserves. During the 2000's he was regularly making shows and finished his PBA career with 8 titles which included 2 majors. His style might not have been flashy, but it got the job done. He was incredibly consistent and always seemed to put himself in the mix during PBA events. But in this video, we are going t...

Bill O'Neill aka 'The Real Deal' certainly had his struggles on TV as it took over 80 tournaments and 11 TV finals appearances to finally win his first PBA title. But once he got his first, more came quickly after and he's been a consistent winner on the PBA tour for many years. However, in this video I'm going to be looking at the times when things didn't go so well for him on TV. Which player...

Ryan Shafer is one of the most underrated players of all time on the PBA tour. He was incredibly consistent and had a long and successful career, regularly making telecasts over the years. Casuals will say a 300 is a bigger deal, but longtime bowlers know that an 800 is way more impressive.
People who actually bowl for money know that a perfect or an 800 aren't necessary when all you need to do is beat your opponent/place high in the field.
did she bowl a 300
no
FULL VIDEO HERE: ruclips.net/video/lDcIFlJtcIs/видео.html
Is it bad that I’ve shot 800 but no 300
Have thrown a 300 with a plastic, urethane, and reactive. its a rush every single time.
Wait isn't 2009 Long Island Classic the first title Belmo got?
A 900 series?
In my opinion, bowling a 900 or getting the 7-10 converted is I feel like better than a 300.
Well of course 3 300s is better than one
@@quinnbostic uh huh
I agree about the 900, and agree the 7-10 is more rare, but I’d take a 300 over a 7-10 any day. Last time I got a 7-10, nobody was even watching….haha
Would love to see 2001
Hey thanks for doing this at my suggestion! Great video! 😁
Small error at 6:12, Barnes actually won the Don Johnson Eliminator Championship and the Match Play championship back to back. The Long Island Classic was won by a first time winner... some guy named Jason Belmonte, wonder if anyone's heard of him?
Answer: Jason Belmonte won the long island classic in 2009.
Maybe do a recap of 2006-2007 pba Season
1997 is easily the most interesting season in PBA history. Here are some highlights: TEN different players won multiple titles 3 first time winners (sort of… because of the subsequent reclassification of the Masters as a PBA title) The outrageous ToC telecast with 5 lefties and the plethora of machine malfunctions including the sweep actually hitting a ball resulting in a do-over The emotional final show ever on ABC sports A 300 game back when it was still rare to see one The final run of the King of the Hill in its original format (before it became a silly made for tv mockery where the players just get chosen for no reason) And the US Open… did not exist. Anyone know why?
The Ultimate Scoring Championship was one of the worst ideas the Tour ever had. I remember the intro basically saying they expected multiple 300s on the show, and then the longest string to start a match was only front 2, because when good players bowl on a cliffed pattern guess what: it gets MORE cliffed. What a shock. Also, a lot of people probably don’t realize this, but this was the only season Wes Malott ever won more than one title.
Such a memorable season for me. A few things i remember vividly. Rhino's 4 count to lose to PA and Pa's reaction. That face gets me every time. Danny Wiseman's reaction after losing to John Nolan made me a FOREVER fan of him. So genuine and humble in his loss. He finished his 10th frame was obviously disappointed but looked at John and said "You, You are a Major Champion" and gave him a double high five. Just a true sportsman through and through. Also if i remember correctly John was battling quite the wrist injury which ultimately left him unable to compete on the tour through his earned exemption. Bowling actually being on pardon my interruption when Wes Mallott skipped the plastic ball championship and the drama that caused. And Jeff Carter winning and in his post match interview saying he was more comfortable because it was pete he was competing against (meaning cuz they knew each other so well) and it coming off as he was glad he beat pete which was funny. Also finally seeing him on a tv telecast after the season before he set the average record (which still stands)
The Right Lane, That was an awesome recap of the events from the 2008-2009 Season on the Pba Tour. Also, The Moments that I enjoyed from the 2008-2009 Season on the Pba Tour were Norm Duke winning the World Championship, Walter Ray Williams Jr winning his 45th Title in Hammond, Mike Machuga winning against Bill O'Neill in the Chameleon Championship, Wes Malott winning 3 Victories, John Nolen winning the USBC Masters, Jeff Carter Winning the Plastic Ball Championship, Mike Scroggins winning the U.S. Open, and Wes Malott defending his King of Bowling especially the 2 300 Games on shows 3 and 5. Also, The Season I would like for you to recap is the 2007-2008 Season on the Pba Tour.
Took me way longer to get my first 800 than my first 300 in league. In fact, I think I bowled 5 or 6 300’s before my first 800. Way harder to avg 266+ across 3 games than it is to get 12 in a row, and that’s a fact as I’m sure you already know from the statistics.
I had 2 sanctioned 800s before my first sanctioned 300 🙃
@@quinnbostic the hard way too haha
I had 7 “practice/open bowling” 300s before my first league 300…haha. I still count them though, I don’t care
Underrated accomplishment
Id rather bowl an 800 series then a 300 game
Agreed. Most non-bowlers don’t understand why, but it is what it is.
Facts, I’ve had a few 300s the last couple years but it’s been 10 years since my last 800
Getting my head crushed by a beautiful thicc Latinas thighs
Simo would get thumped if he did that to a real man
2:03 Those are the kind of strikes that you really didn't strike. The pins saw how awful that shot looked and then fainted from sheer horror. 🤣🤣 They're even better when the sound of it contacting the pins is a lot like a ball hitting a water-soaked tree stump.
Not sure about Barnes timing though with that 3rd step push away.
Regional player John Furey should be included.
No Pete Weber, the devil of the PBA?
Chris Barnes has an average bowler swing, don’t get what’s so special that it should be included on this list
Oh
Yeah
I mean tbf WRW's swing always looked weird to me. That roll of his wrist and huge lift at release. But it worked for him. Not so much for anyone bowling him 😂
William Svensson that plays in the same team as Jesper. His style is pretty special.
Everyone in the comments can say what they want,…. But Pete was, and IS a legend in the sport we love now. He was one of the greatest players of all time. Can’t take that way from the man. Love him or hate him,…. He was THE entertainer and best advocate for that era of our game.
Notably great recap! As it progressed, my brain "Damn, all of these events DID happen in one season!" Quite eye-opening!
I think for Smallwood and Kulik alone it's probably got to be the winner with how much those two events still come up today.
Omg!
I'd buy Norm a steak of he would talk about pot game strategy / betting. He is supposed the greatest money player ever.
Belmonte also made his TV debut this season I believe.
No that’s was 2008-09
Recaps of years would be a cool format. How about tournaments that were won by a certain ball. For example, a Roto Grip Cell or Black Widow.
This channel just keeps getting better! Great recap. How about the 08-09 season? Walter Ray’s 8-10 against PA, Malott’s double 300s and POY dominance, Rhino Page’s 4-count, amateur winning the Masters and Duke taking back-to-back-to-back majors!
I feel like 2022-2023 season are the best seasons for me.
Kyle Sherman's release is insanely smooth
The Right Lane, The 2009-2010 Season on the Pba Tour was both Crazy and the best. Also, My favorite Moments were Walter Ray Williams Jr and Mike Scroggins winning 2 Tournaments. Also, Kelly Kulick making history in the Tournament of Champions. Also, The Season I would like to see you recap is the 1995 Season on the Pba Tour.
I agree with all of your statements. This really was a great season! ❤
Fagan, Hupe, and Cooley are my favorite one handed styles to watch.
Don't rule out Matt McNiel - ruclips.net/video/xVqKNYkVfvY/видео.html&ab_channel=PBABowling
Personally not a fan of Angelo's swing, but liked everyone else's.
No Mike Aulby? Bummer
Walter Ray, the complete opposite of smooth!
3 of the 5 arent smooth at all. Smooth is not just arm swing its how jerky you are getting to the line too and people that crank on the ball are not smooth deliveries. Some of these guys have all sorts of aggressive jerking movements going on. Stutter stepping Brad Angelo makes the list? Good grief. I probably should make my own list after seeing yours be sort all over the map because you cant even put two bowlers in this video side by side without noticing how much smoother one is over the other because they are that different.
Terrible example
Your a sore loser and cry baby
