Thanks for the mini review, I’m considering getting the new 2023 Xmax 300, I’m getting bit Older and haven’t been riding for over 20yrs, i never thought i would consider a Scooter but now I’m looking forward to riding again …

The best way to eliminate the buffeting from the screen is remove it and replace it with the sport screen. This will make your ride more enjoyable and alot quieter, and as a bonus will make it more stable in side winds 😀. Regarding the rear shocks, wait until you've got 2000+mile's on it before thinking of replacing with after market. Most scooter suspension is hard when brand new. Same with the seat they improve after a few miles as well. Glad you did an update video 😀
I’ve had several motorcycles/scooters thru the years and I’m 6ft 3. I’ve tried many many different screens, factory and aftermarket and could NEVER find a screen that eliminated buffeting on my head so my policy going forward is, I’ve given up on screens and eliminate them. Just get the one closest to the instrument panel and be done with it. Get clean air flowing over the body and that’s as quiet as it gets. Most of the screens like most of motorcycling today is all about creating an image and marketing to push products. One thing I appreciate about the royal enfield classic is, it’s an honest bike, built by engineers long ago to do what it was designed to do, get you comfortably and quietly from point a to b. It does nothing great but everything well. Everything is a compromise but that’s life and they knew it going in and kept things in the sweet spot for driver and passenger not to furthur an image or sell parts. Imo.
Hi Thanks for that. Yeah put a deposit one today. Have a Harley but no good for the stuff I need to car to work. Nice looking scoots and interesting what you said about the Forza.
Did about 40min at 110km/h riding yesterday, not a problem at all ( I'm sure the Xmax can do 110Km/h all day long).. You can push the bike much faster without any effort. Very stable ride..!!! Much more stable than I was expecting. Yamaha have done a nice job with the bike. My body weight is about 98Kg, for comparison.
I'm going to test ride the 2023 xmax 300 at Ultimate Yamaha Springwood, Brisbane today. I've learnt a lot from your comparison videos and your summary on what best suits you, so a big thanks. Having ridden smaller cc's motorcycles when living in the land of the Enfields I gravitated towards sportier motorcycles, but the aging man in me reasoned in on a scooter. Will be using it primarily for commute from Garden City to the CBD. Hope to someday bump 🛵🛵 into you, not literally 😂. Thanks again.
thanks great scooter. another great little commuter is the cb125f. nice little bike to ride with good pickup in first 3 gears. gets away from traffic pretty easy
Thanks for the review, I've been looking for 2023 model videos but there's not many around yet. If you could get the 22 at a discount vs the 23 at full price, do you think it's worth the extra for the screen and new seat?
what you mention seat and screen...NO! but lets go deeper on the new model. 1. the digital dash is pretty smart that is when i get it working i think i have phone issues. plus it gives the weather/phone calls/music plus gps. 2. from front on the new design headlight is very cool 3. tail light revised too. 4. seat has been trimmed down a tad and doesn't spread your legs. at 5.9 i can flat foot and not so on old model. my legs were too far spread. 5 much better mirrors compared to older model and new design too 6. indicator moved higher for better visability 7. new design screen. really i dont care how much i save all i want is the latest model. for that reason alone its worth buying. add up what you get compared to the old and in the end sure you saved a few bucks but in reality your riding the old model thats been out for 5 years. now im not knocking the old unit. i had them new in 2021/2022/now 2023. if money is not an issue go 2023 or you'll think later i sdhould have bought that one. if i had one real complaint its more like i don't go much on this colour scheme

Nice review, Warro. The only scooter I've owned was a Vespa 125, back in 1962! There's been lots of motorcycles between then and now of course, and I'm still riding. Given that I'm 77, I'm starting to wonder if the Xmax might not be a bad bet for me, due to comfort and weight. I almost never go off-road.
lets put it this way on this clip i did run it down the dirt road a bit to get closer for the photos. i'd rate the xmax 300 off road/dirt about 0 out of 10 wheels too small and its a very bad ride indeed. the scooter adventure bikes and i did have the honda adv 150 it was bad to ride in all areas and not worth doing an actual review on. the xmax is a sealed road runner where the enfield can cover everything but back to the xmax on the open road its a very easy scoot to ride, has far more power than a enfield 350 or the bigger 500. they will easily do $140 they would have bo chance against a cb500x or even the ktm 390 adv but neither can carry all the goodies under the seat . the only thing i really dont like about mine is the colour. who knows i might get bored one day and spray it red or blue or some other lively colour...lol is it worth buying. i'd say yes indeed for sealed roads and later i plan to fit my performace roller kit which will give it more get up and go and probably run with the forza 350 on the pickup side.
Buy Vespa GTS 300 - that new 2023 model. It kicks ass of both Honda Forza 350 and Yamaha XMax 300 regarding quality of suspension on bumpy roads. I was shocked how good it is compared to others. I know previous models were better then my PCX 125, Beverly 300/400 and various other scooters. But this 2023 model is really different level now. And yes, it has 12" wheels. Vespa shows that size of tyre is just myth and that are way more important things at play. Vespa Cosa 200 which I had in the past was with 10" wheels and it was better then ANY 14"/15" wheels scooter I tried at the time - front suspension I had stock, read was sporting one, but not expensive on. Anyway after todays testing of Honda Forza 350 I can say that it clearly suc...s , windshield horrible in all positions, suspension let's say average, that stupidity under left handlebar for phone handling prevent me to use front floorboards and is dangerous (maybe they should learn in Honda that such stuf is supposed to be handled from handlebars, not from some external box below them), engine was great and protection from neck down too, seat is crap and after hour it was noticable. So yes, Xmax 300 is way ahead if you compare with Forza 350 and you do not plan some offroad (some road to camp or such you can drive on anything, even sportbike or Harley). Next week going to test ADV 350, seems more promising.
@@puffybodie5282 as far as i know this model hasn't arrived here yet but it may be. i once asked about a vespa gts 300 and the price here was aud$13K or $3k more than a xmax or forza 350 price was not the issue as i buy many bikes but i was concerned if i had any vespa issues its a 500 klm round trip to the closest dealer. if by chance one was local or say 50 to 100 klm away i'd give it a try and see what i think. overall though i'd still rather ride an outright motorcycle but i did buy a performance roller kit for the 2023 xmax but not fitted as yet. forza was just a bit more responsive in that pick up dept
@@ridewithwarro Yeah lack of dealer close to you is a problem when buying new machine as you need to go there for those guarantee services. Then of course one must look for the best in other marks. However here it seems Yamaha do not have ANY scooters for testing, only motorbikes. But that's part of another problem trying to make 2 wheels like something luxurious only and scooter does not fit in that schema with its practicality even as they sell some of that (but far from Honda with its PCX).
yeah and i was parked pretty close to it too. say if i forgot got on and rode foreward....it would have been all downhill for the first few metres...lol
at this stage no. the new model has a slightly revised seat and your not sitting spread legged as much. where you'll find the main issue if the roads are rough and the rear suspension isnt too kind to you ...more a jolt. the last one i had i put better rear shocks and touring seat. touring seat was pretty good and looks good too. tried to fit it on this and no go. im gonna try again and see if i can modify it. on my last one i did get a sore back while trying out the feet foreward position when i hit a bad bump and the shock went right through me. don't like that position at all.....lol
Heres the best thing about the 23 model compared to earlier models THE headlights are very bright and they have a WIDE BEAM which allows you to see all of road in front of you.....great for night driving UNLIKE PREVIOUS years .....they were horrible ...just ask antone that had both !!!! That alone makes 23 worth buying rather than previous year models !!!!!
Hello. A few days ago i bought this model 2023 xmax 300 in gray color with blue rims. The scooter is great but a bit hard. Maybe because it's new. Before it, I had a larger and heavier 2015 model with 400cc. Compared to the 2022 300c model, I don't notice any difference in cycling, except for the appearance and LED lights, GPS and TFT screen. I don't know what it is like on some longer trips because it doesn't stop raining here in Europe, so I don't have a chance to try it 😀 Greetings from Bosnia
two things you can do. one is order yourself the touring seat and this mod alone softens up the ride so worth buying as your sort of riding on a gel type seat. the next would be yss rear shocks. cheapest version not the piggy bag style - i had those and touring seat on my 022 model and they improved the ride. new model has smoother lines in the plastics and didfferent shaped screen. the screen is no better than the old one but a very cheap add on wind delector from ebay does a very good job as i bought one and tried it
@@ridewithwarro I just bought the 2023 model and after several rides here in Winnipeg, Canada (bumpy roads here) my back just aches. Rear shocks are very stiff. I just put it to the lowest/softest setting and it got a little better, but still hard over bumps. What model of yss shocks do you recommend (so many choices out there) and is the comfort seat taller? or same height.? thanks
still got the xmax and honda cb125f. just waiting now for the suzuki vston 250 sx. it should have been here in march but now delayed till may. it arrive when its nearly too cold to ride it...lol
scoot off...lol yeah i wouldn't like to ride that xmax on a serious dirt road i think it would be severe agony. much like the honda adv150 i had but it was no good even on sealed roads...lol in fact the worst ride ive ever been on. this is great on the sealed roughs. enough power to move one along and overall it would make a good commuter plus a few long haul runs too
I had an ADV 150 also, at 6ft 3in. I found the seat torturous after 30min, and the straight handlebars got to me also, I tried different risers, moved them fwd and aft, finally installed pcx handlebars and that looked crappy but helped greatly. And the windscreen I never had any hopes for, just left it in the down position. Overall it ran great and fairly smooth on the road but I knew it was just a scooter not off-road capable really. But the engine ran great and it pivitoted differently than it’s sister the pcx , because I bought the pcx after reading tons of glowing reviews about how much smoother it was than the adv, not so, the new pcx rides like a pogo stick and beats me to death and I feel more cramped on it than the adv. if scooters could get rid of the step seats and make them flat and thick and put a deep storage underneath I think they would sell a million of them and with the best suspension and shocks available as well.
I like the look of this Yammy scooter Warro. It looks very much a tough little unit 🤙 Talk about a busted up road! Was that the result of floods some time back? It’s obviously blocked off, but any plans to repair it? Ride safe⭐️
i'm planning to upgrade from a nmax to xmax. Almost bought the old xmax 400cc model, but i heard the new xmax 300 is better. Soo i think i'm going for the xmax 300.
i had a honda pcx160 so its about the same power as an nmax. i think you'll find the upgrade to 300cc pretty good. nice power and if you want more just add a set of high performance rollers
@@ridewithwarro have you added those HP rollers to your bike yet.. Would be great to get some feed back on the ride and performance benefits. So far, very happy with the Xmax 300 2023, i also have the bike in Grey.
yeah i tried to get mine working but i go a failed message on the display. i only have a samsung 8s i think not sure if thats an issue. i was looking foreward t the gps side as ive never had a bike with gps...lol
I just bought a leftover 2022 in the crate. I think yamaha did a great job redesigning the front end, but what were they thinking with that horrible gold trim 🤮. Black would of looked sooo much better
@@christopherchapman7453 yeah i might give it more thought on a colour change. that colour is pretty boring. the previous model i had with blue wheels looked pretty good really. new clip up later today. on final run now
Best mirrors were the Forza 350 -- from a year or two ago on back. But Im a Yamaha guy, can't believe the new windscreen sucks. damn. Color scheme sucks, should have been silver.
forza had the more sportier mirrors but when i owned both and tested them i thought the xmax was the better scooter.in my history you'll see i too didn't like this colour and pulled all plastic and painted it blue
yeah but i suppose thats how yamaha will get a few extra bucks selling accessories that may fit one bike and not the other. plan to have a crack at maybe a slight mod to see if i can get it to fit. worth a try i think so time will tell. meanwhile im still working on the complete colour change and have all plastic pulled from the bike. all good there.
Haha thanks for the review Warro. As we have spoken about I got the Dark Petrol colour about 2 weeks ago. Due to the rain here in Sydney I haven’t been out much at all. Actually the one time I did I got caught in a massive downpour, and the scoot actually keeps you very dry when compared to even my adventure bike. I’m just shy of 6 foot and that screen gives me a lot of buffering even at the highest setting. I can’t find an after market due to it being so new. I’ll pop a little wind deflector up but I’m not a fan of the look. I think I might just prefer your colour way. I feel mine stands out too much. What do you think of the stock seat? It’s meant to be new and improved. Is the aftermarket a lot better? I took it through some twisties and I kept hitting the centre stand whilst cheekily trying to keep up with the big sports bikes. I was hoping it would have a little more clearance. Ride quality on the suspension is fine if you pick your line on rough roads, I think. Plenty of pick up, more than I need. I also purchased the CB125f at the same time (got the white as well), which I’ve been riding in the rain to work everyday. That is a fantastic bike. It blows my mind how good it is for the price. Much better than the specs say.
@@florme6494 yeah i might take the cb125f out this weekend. like i said in the clip doesn't matter that much if its forza 350 or xmax both screen fail...lol quite a few think the forza is ahead but my thoughts if it was i'd kept it...lol i found the scoot rode better with the yss rear shocks. not the expensive piggy back version.but the cheaper gas type ones. i think they retail for $500 compared to the blackline piggyback for $750 stock seat is a tad different to the old model and doesn't spread your legs like theolder unit and more easy to go near flat foot. i think the touring seat not only looks better but is better as it has a gel insert. i kept the touring seat and thought it would fit but not so on the new model. i may be able to modify it and see if i can salvage and get it on. again i like the look of the touring seat as it makes the xmax look more classy.
yeah in a way. i really would have liked the other colour. who knows depends on how things go i might even repaint it red or blue or something. that will depend on the day and how i feel...lol
yeah it could be a one way ride...lol getting the enfield 350 river ride clip together now. hopefully up later. doing it in 2 parts one in and the ride out
I’m glad to hear this guy say it’s not as good as a motorbike lol I was trying to justify how I could spend $6,000 for a xmax vs just getting several different motorcycles for the same price.
i tried it on the previos xmax and it helped but those $30 ebay deflectors don't look too inviting.....lol i might hook it up on this shortly and raise the screen and see how it goes.

@@puffybodie5282 as far as i know this model hasn't arrived here yet but it may be. i once asked about a vespa gts 300 and the price here was aud$13K or $3k more than a xmax or forza 350
price was not the issue as i buy many bikes but i was concerned if i had any vespa issues its a 500 klm round trip to the closest dealer.
if by chance one was local or say 50 to 100 klm away i'd give it a try and see what i think.
overall though i'd still rather ride an outright motorcycle but i did buy a performance roller kit for the 2023 xmax but not fitted as yet.
forza was just a bit more responsive in that pick up dept
@@ridewithwarro Yeah lack of dealer close to you is a problem when buying new machine as you need to go there for those guarantee services. Then of course one must look for the best in other marks. However here it seems Yamaha do not have ANY scooters for testing, only motorbikes. But that's part of another problem trying to make 2 wheels like something luxurious only and scooter does not fit in that schema with its practicality even as they sell some of that (but far from Honda with its PCX).
Nice little scooter Warro. Hate to be the first person blasting along that road before washout found.
yeah and i was parked pretty close to it too. say if i forgot got on and rode foreward....it would have been all downhill for the first few metres...lol
@@ridewithwarro it's not the downhill bit u worry about its the sudden stop at the bottom that is the problem ha ha.
@@daintree2455 plus a bit of drama getting back out too. providing one could...lol
the river ride clip on the 350 will be out later today
Could you tell me if your back gets sore while riding. I’m 6 ft 200lbs. 67 Yr old.
at this stage no. the new model has a slightly revised seat and your not sitting spread legged as much. where you'll find the main issue if the roads are rough and the rear suspension isnt too kind to you ...more a jolt.
the last one i had i put better rear shocks and touring seat. touring seat was pretty good and looks good too.
tried to fit it on this and no go. im gonna try again and see if i can modify it.
on my last one i did get a sore back while trying out the feet foreward position when i hit a bad bump and the shock went right through me.
don't like that position at all.....lol
Heres the best thing about the 23 model compared to earlier models
THE headlights are very bright and they have a WIDE BEAM which allows you to see all of road in front of you.....great for night driving UNLIKE PREVIOUS years .....they were horrible ...just ask antone that had both !!!! That alone makes 23 worth buying rather than previous year models !!!!!
great to hear
I don't know what it is like on some longer trips because it doesn't stop raining here in Europe, so I don't have a chance to try it 😀
Greetings from Bosnia
two things you can do. one is order yourself the touring seat and this mod alone softens up the ride so worth buying as your sort of riding on a gel type seat. the next would be yss rear shocks. cheapest version not the piggy bag style -
i had those and touring seat on my 022 model and they improved the ride.
new model has smoother lines in the plastics and didfferent shaped screen.
the screen is no better than the old one but a very cheap add on wind delector from ebay does a very good job as i bought one and tried it
@@ridewithwarro I just bought the 2023 model and after several rides here in Winnipeg, Canada (bumpy roads here) my back just aches. Rear shocks are very stiff. I just put it to the lowest/softest setting and it got a little better, but still hard over bumps. What model of yss shocks do you recommend (so many choices out there) and is the comfort seat taller? or same height.? thanks
I want the one with blue wheels 💙
easy one there. just get a rattle can and start spraying...all the best
@@ridewithwarro found the colored panels and wheels on Google. 👍
I thought you'd got rid of everything except the Enfields?
still got the xmax and honda cb125f. just waiting now for the suzuki vston 250 sx. it should have been here in march but now delayed till may.
it arrive when its nearly too cold to ride it...lol
@@ridewithwarro Maybe ask about the plug in thermal suit?
@@MrAndrew1953 anything is worth a try...lol next clip out you'll see the enfield 350 in some very steep rough country
That road was in good condition until Warro did a burnout with that Scooter and trashed the road with its Power, true story.
scoot off...lol yeah i wouldn't like to ride that xmax on a serious dirt road i think it would be severe agony.
much like the honda adv150 i had but it was no good even on sealed roads...lol in fact the worst ride ive ever been on.
this is great on the sealed roughs. enough power to move one along and overall it would make a good commuter plus a few long haul runs too
I had an ADV 150 also, at 6ft 3in.
Ride safe⭐️
not sure what they plan to do there but there is now a side track to get past it so thats a plus. still heaps of potholes about too
Good info, think I will just stick with motorbikes.
bikes are hard to beat thats for sure. but i do like the twist and go side plus its fuel delivery is good too.
i'm planning to upgrade from a nmax to xmax.
@@petermsamson in the end i was happy with how it was going so never went further on that idea
gps is working fine mate let me know if you need info about it.
yeah i tried to get mine working but i go a failed message on the display. i only have a samsung 8s i think not sure if thats an issue.
i was looking foreward t the gps side as ive never had a bike with gps...lol
@@ridewithwarro maybe is a phone issue
@@alexandrosr5179could be. i will have to try again

I just bought a leftover 2022 in the crate. I think yamaha did a great job redesigning the front end, but what were they thinking with that horrible gold trim 🤮. Black would of looked sooo much better
yeah i am not too keen on the colour mtself. i might paint it red or blue
@Ride with Warro I thought about doing a vinyl wrap just on the gold part, then it wouldn't be permanent. Keep the good content coming 👌
Thanks! Bummer about the seat
yeah but i suppose thats how yamaha will get a few extra bucks selling accessories that may fit one bike and not the other.
plan to have a crack at maybe a slight mod to see if i can get it to fit.
worth a try i think so time will tell.
meanwhile im still working on the complete colour change and have all plastic pulled from the bike.
all good there.
@@ridewithwarro Looking forward to both! Thanks
x max 300 OR forza 350 ?
xmax
Finally!
better late than never...lol
@@florme6494 yeah i might take the cb125f out this weekend. like i said in the clip doesn't matter that much if its forza 350 or xmax both screen fail...lol
quite a few think the forza is ahead but my thoughts if it was i'd kept it...lol
i found the scoot rode better with the yss rear shocks. not the expensive piggy back version.but the cheaper gas type ones. i think they retail for $500 compared to the blackline piggyback for $750
stock seat is a tad different to the old model and doesn't spread your legs like theolder unit and more easy to go near flat foot.
i think the touring seat not only looks better but is better as it has a gel insert.
i kept the touring seat and thought it would fit but not so on the new model. i may be able to modify it and see if i can salvage and get it on.
again i like the look of the touring seat as it makes the xmax look more classy.
Good-looking scooter.
yeah in a way. i really would have liked the other colour. who knows depends on how things go i might even repaint it red or blue or something.
that will depend on the day and how i feel...lol
Not sure the scooter would be up for that road! Warro, you sure can pick some rough roads!😉
yeah it could be a one way ride...lol getting the enfield 350 river ride clip together now. hopefully up later. doing it in 2 parts one in and the ride out
I’m glad to hear this guy say it’s not as good as a motorbike lol I was trying to justify how I could spend $6,000 for a xmax vs just getting several different motorcycles for the same price.
nice bike indeed
did the wind deflector helps you mate ?
I am 1.85
i tried it on the previos xmax and it helped but those $30 ebay deflectors don't look too inviting.....lol
i might hook it up on this shortly and raise the screen and see how it goes.
No bullshit. Nice one ☝️
thanks...great to hear.
