Sawbuck for flat wood. I have a similar, though V shape top for cutting my wood turning blanks. And yours is much nicer made than mine, though mine is designed to be out in the weather.

I had no clue what it was for untill you pulled out that saw. Never even heard of one before. STRANGE as i try to know at least a little about everything from sub atomic physics to to cross stitch with side trips through paint formulas, cooking, carberator rebuild, navigation ect......Thanks for making me think in new ways.

Could not think of the name of that …saw bench … rip bench. I was pretty sure that’s what it was when you sat it on the floor.

So ... Now, I get to comment on your use of short strokes with the saw. Shannon Rogers would say -- "Use full long strikes for the best cuts and faster consistent results and keeping a sharper saw by using all of the teeth .." ... Yada yada yada ....His videos on using a sawyers bench and a saw are really great ... You will get good use of the bench if you have it handy all the time.

YAY, I knew a thing, lol. When you started assembling the legs, I figured a workbench, 'till I realised, no, it's too short. Once you started adding the top, and noticed it was split top, I knew what it had to be.

Rip bench? 12min in. You sir are very inconsiderate. Making all these cool woodworking project videos that inspire me to go to my ice cold woodshop and freeze my fingers off.

@@DIYwithUncleCy I built one of those out of scrap from old furniture. I had a very similar design thats why it was easy to spot it. That thing has been very useful for alot of things thru the years. Even used it as a step stool when renovating my house haha. I have the same v shape in the end. Perfect for drilling on. I used it mostly with a circular saw running thru the middle because im too lazy to rip with a handsaw haha. The middle groove is perfect to clamp things also whereever your piece needs support. Mine does not look as nice as yours tho so need to make one out of decent wood one day also.
