Thanks Gary! I was a bit nervous myself if it would be enough.. thats why just to be sure I bounced around using it sparingly until the end where whatever was left I’d spread out more in that last area of the camper. Worked out good. I first told him 12 yards would be enough but I only thought he wanted the spot by the road and by the camper done.. I’m glad he decided to get a little over 15 yards because he had other areas in Mind that he wanted me to fill when I came back so it all worked out. Thanks for watching!
This is a perfect video for me with great content. I absolutely love the process of spreading topsoil and grading it afterwards for the leveling of the ground! I also love the skid steer usage as well... Great Job and share more please and I'll be all over your channel!
Thanks Aaron, glad you enjoyed it! I agree, there’s just something about watching topsoil being spread and grading work being done for us men haha. I still have another big job I wanna get done before winter comes so stay tuned, thanks for watching!
Thanks Mike! I’m glad you noticed.. I am pretty OCD too and like to do the best job I can for people. It would drive me nuts to not fully finish or rush my work.. when I leave I want them to be as happy with my work as I am. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks man that’s great to hear! I have a few guys like you who really pay close attention to the way I set my bucket and my movements and I think that’s great, I really need to make a video explaining and breaking down my movements. I’d like to explain each different tilt of the bucket I use and why and for what reasons. Hopefully I can make a video like that soon. Thanks for watching!
@@BiffsEquipment , A video like this would be extremely helpful. Most instruction videos never give the explanations about why the bucket is tilted a certain way. I have always been impressed with what you are able to do with your bucket.
@@mikewinters9212 thanks man, I agree.. the worst is when a guy who doesn’t truely know how to use the loader himself is trying to teach people lol. Those videos drive me nuts.
Thanks Joe! The BX is one heck of a machine.. I am blown away to this day at the amount of work, punishment and abuse this tractor has been through and continues to this day to grin. 1,200 hard worker hours and she doesn’t leak a single drop of oil either. Gotta love em!
That’s great! I’ve got a 23S and I’ve had it a year and a half and got just over 500 hours on it. I’d be lost without it, it’s my third bx, so handy! Love your videos, keep up the good work!
Thanks Will! The garage has been amazing.. so glad we build it. One of the best things I ever did and it gets a lot of use. Just did a full service on a John Deere 1023e in it yesterday. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Trevor! It was nice stuff, it sucked it rained a few of the days previously before I was able to get up there so some of the topsoil was chunky and wet but as the day progressed it started to break up and got easier to spread and use. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Ron, we were actually all talking about you at the end of the day.. Matt brought up that you commented on the last video and I was telling John about it haha. Hope you’re doing well!
Thanks Mark! It had rained before I was able to get back there so underneath it was pretty wet and chunky but as the day progressed the sun dried it out pretty nicely as things went on. Hope you enjoyed 👍🏻
Haha thanks David, I sure will. I actually have a nice aluminum grading rake that I was gonna bring with me but said “eh I shouldn’t need it” then I greatly regretted not brining it at the end of the day haha.
Morning , I'm looking forward to see what mods you do to the trailer. I'm sure u want to paint it badly and there are things that u want to do to it . Well that topsoil went far I think . Looks great. Good job
Thanks Todd! Yes I def want to paint it black at some point.. would look alot better cuz it’s in great shape aside from the paint. I also still need to wend hinges on the ramps so I can just pivot them up and not have to carry them to and from the back of my truck each time.
@@BiffsEquipment I would weld a few more pieces of angle iron on the ramps, so your front wheels don't bounce through each low spot. Or weld on some expanded steel over the top. That's what I have and it makes it nice and smooth to drive on.
Great to see more from you I’ve learn a lot watching your videos. I can’t remember if you mentioned what brand oil do you use and filter I’m in northern mn
Looks good. On your Back Drag, it looks like you are setting the bucket angle. Then going to Float. Is this the case? I need to do this in my yard. I take a beating on my Zero Turn.
Hey buddy, yes that is precisely what I am doing most of the time.. as I drive up to an area I am about to grade, I take a close look at the grade and the material.. I then set the bucket angle exactly where I feel it will be best to do what I want with the material and then I click it into float, dropping the bucket at the exact spot I’m looking at and then once the bucket touches the material I start moving backwards.. depending on what I’m trying to do I either anticipate the bucket drop and start moving backwards before the bucket hits the ground, or I will wait till the bucket hits a certain area before back dragging and moving backwards.. I also will often click in and out of float during the same backdrag.. just depends on the ground, the grade, and the material and what I’m trying to accomplish. Hope this helps! I need to make a video soon breaking down my process
Haha your German father was right! Finishing work off by hand always leaves the best results.. you can’t be afraid to get off the tractor every now an again to do some manual labor. These tractors sure do keep that to a minimum though! Thanks for watching!
Great question! In this video since I was working mostly with light/softer dirt I mainly just used float.. but often I will also click it in and out of float during the same backdrag.. just depends on the pressure that is needed at the time to be able to get a smooth backdrag.. also I am constantly changing the angle of my bucket depending on how far I want to move the material.. if I want to move it far I will have more bucket angle.. if I want to move it less and leave more material behind I’ll use a more flat bucket.. and sometimes if I need to be somewhere in the middle I actually like to curl the bucket upwards because on the BX there is another great bucket position if you have it curled up just right to where it does something a little different than the other 2 positions I just said and I’ll use that one quite a bit also. I plan to make a full video on this in the future for you guys. Hope this helps!
@@Jtwizzle oh gotcha, glad you watched the tips and tricks video.. I need to do more of those “video review” videos this winter when my side work dies down and the weather turns to crap. I’ll see what I can do 👍🏻
Great question! I was actually just telling a friend of mine yesterday that “the Kubota bx has really decent ground clearance with the deck on and because it is hardly in my way that I’ve just been leaving it on lately when doing my side work” so yah that’s basically why.. it just hasn’t really bothered me to leave it on during the summer months and makes it easier for me to leave on as I use it to mow my lawn every other week so I’m not taking it on and off constantly. Soon it will be coming off and staying off for the year tho as winter is approaching
Hey just wondering how its going with the wheel spacers? Any issues with axle or transmission? I have a new BX23S and dealer said it will be a warranty problem if something happens but I want to improve stability I know you work it hard and know what you’re doing so appreciate your opinion Im thinking maybe 2 in spacers from Bora ??
Hey Mark, great question.. the wheel spacers absolutely should not hurt your tractor in any way. I have 2” spacers on the back of my machine and I’ve quite litterally beat the thing to death.. I have not had a single issue with the rear axle, its bearings or its seals.. many other people run them with out issue as well.. and if he’s saying it can be a warentee issue.. If you ever did have an issue with the rear end id just remove them before taking it to the dealer.. because odds are the wheel spacers did NOT cause the issue in the first place so I wouldn’t even feel bad about it hiding them. Hope this helps!
