- I thought this was such a great picture of Michael Brecker (28) and Stan Getz (50) having lunch together at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in 1977 I tracked down their two performances from that gig and edited them together. Brecker plays an amazing solo on Pick Up The Pieces, with a huge all-star band, and Getz plays a lovely samba. Enjoy!
Would have loved to of heard a video performance with Bob Berg who I went to school with at the high school performing arts in the late 60’s
Stan is the man...sentetivity,soul,beauty..play...
crazy amont of range from both of them
Ok, what happened to Mike's glasses? He was wearing them, fixed them, and then a few dozen bars later, they are gone.
Where can you find the full video of pick up the pieces ?
Try RUclips.

But the rhythm section is also great ,difficult do some great solo without it!
The rhythm section gets in Getz's way. He is forced to play hard, leaving out his more sensitive playing that the rhythm section covers up.
Chalk and cheese
Frankly this picture is a fake, it is obvious. Ridiculous.
why do you Say that?
@@pierfrancescovalente It is obvious the light on the two bodys is completly different, it's a rough edit.
I don't know who did that, probably somebody who dreamt to see two masters of sax sat at the same table.
Is it Buster Birch for more subscribers ?
It's childish. Believe me , if this picture was true, it would be well known for a long time.
Let's concentrate on music, and nothing else
