      As a little kid I was always told that some god exists, but I never understood why, since there are real and very different scientifical causes which a responsible for most things that people call "proof".

      Edgar Estrada how is not believing in god faith? I actually think the exact opposite. You see if the idea of god was never created you guys would not believe in it. But us atheists wouldn’t have changed at all.

    My whole life, I've believed in God, and my brother doesn't and I asked him why and it made me wonder, and I was upset because I didn't know if I was right or he was, and I have believed in him my whole life, so I was upset because I wanted to believe he was real. But now that I've watched this, you make me believe more and more. Thank you 💕

      Sean Sterio I suggest you look up crucifixion and what they typically did with the bodies of the crucified it gives a very clear idea that the whole tomb with the stone rolled away did NOT happen, unless your god resurrected himself from the feces of animals that would’ve eaten his body, which is what happened unless you got approved by the judge who sentenced you for a proper burial which is also unlikely given that Jesus lived around the Hellenistic period where anti-semitism was rampant in Rome.
      Pilate never approved Jesus to be laid in a tomb let alone a family owned tomb because convicts and prisoners were considered property of the Roman state and it would not make sense for a government who likely had other groups with someone claiming to be god to give a leader of all they knew to be a cult a tomb because of the risk of it becoming a pilgrimage site.

      Im so sorry you have had bad experiences with the church .That truly breaks my heart . Please dont let our flaws push you away from a relationship with Jesus . There was only one sinless person to walk the earth and that was Jesus I personally didnt grow up in the church and understand where you are coming from . I too had same feelings when i didnt believe . Then Jesus proved Himself spiritually first to me then Logically blowing away the lies of mainstream science . Then He blew me away by the complexity of the Bible . For the last 8 years i have been crushing studying the Word of God . As a Former radar tech for the US Navy im used to complex reading but this takes the cake . I have never seen anything like it how 40 different people wrote it over 1500 years three continents and it is all intertwined with prophecies that all have come true . But anyway back to your comment sorry . as far as appearance do you mean clothes . Because Jesus would not care if you came in shorts and flip flops . Why do you was the outside of the cup when the inside is filthy ? Jesus talking to the Pharisee of the time . We are all sinners we all have fallen short of the glory of God . We are told to love even our enemies and this is a hard one . Pray for those who persecute you . i have done this and its not easy . But when you read the word and attend church you are washing your mind from all of the filth that we had exposed it to in our past . We start to sin less . we will never be sinless but we will sin less . Every person who claims to be a believer isnt . Jesus even warned us that wolves have even entered the church dressed in sheep clothing . So we have wolves and we have people trying to be good and following Jesus but we are inherently bad . The thing is the only way to heaven is by accepting Jesus's free gift of salvation . We all have broken Gods law the 10 commandments and the punishment for it is death . So Jesus paid the price for our sin on the cross . What that means legally is have you broke the speed limit and got a ticket . When you go to court you can plead guilty pay a fine and the judge can legally let you go and still be a righteous judge because you paid the penalty . When you stand before God on judgement day if you have excepted Jesus's gift of asking for forgiveness and salvation? Jesus will kick in the doors of the court room and say your honor He or she is with me i paid the fine on the cross . Now fyi Jesus is God in the flesh so technically He wont have to kick in the door He will be the Judge !

    What a genuine, lovely person you are! Enjoyed your enthusiasm. If I may, I have a few questions. NONE of these are meant to be "gotcha" questions. I am truly curious to get your thoughts on these:
    2:54 Can you think of how it might be different to say "we know gravity exists because we see the effects (and we can even calculate the speed of falling objects and predict their trajectories)" and claiming "God makes the sun rise"? Does it take faith to believe in one and not the other?
    4:09 If we had natural explanations for all the things you mention (sun rises, ability to breathe, etc.) would that affect the confidence of your belief in God?
    4:30 Is someone who doesn't believe in God, able to forgive?
    4:46 When someone's organs fail, is God involved in that as well? Or is he only involved when they work perfectly?
    6:20 In 2015, nearly 6 million children died before age 5. Is it appropriate to say God worked everything out in my life, when it clearly hasn't worked out in so many other people's lives?
    6:51 If the prayers of a Hindu are answered and she attributes that to the monkey god Hanuman, and if you attribute it to Jesus, how could we know who was correct and which God was real?
    I'd love to learn how, when and why you FIRST came to believe in Jesus. It's fine to use these reasons, but I think you meant to call these "Why I STILL believe in God". I'd love to learn how and when your belief first began. Does that make sense? Again, I'd really love to get your thoughtful responses to these! Best wishes to you.

    Actually I am muslim. Obviously I believe in god. I am 20 and I have been in doubt since I turned 18 and went to college in the US. As you know US has many atheists. However, every time I look around, I see a bird, a cat, or any creature, I tell myself how could this thing create itself? or how can "Nothing(noun)" turn into a bird, an animal, a human being, Water and etc? There must be a creator for all these things. That is because nothing can evolve from " Nothing " It is just weird. Maybe some atheists will say, then how god created himself from nothing? Well he is "God" Our brains have limits. It is like programming a computer, you set limits to that computer, rights? Exactly how our brains work. You cannot imagine how big is our universe. We can only imagine its size by reading numbers. That is exactly how we cannot imagine how god created himself because he is basically a God. He set limits to use. If god reveals himself then whats the point of creating us?
    I understand how hard it is to believe in something you cannot see. It is super difficult but we have to work with it.

      KWT an important point to make is that the bible teaches that God is eternal. He has always existed. He never created himself. Not only that, but he created time. Indeed, this is unfathomable. Yet, it makes sense if we think about it philosophically.
      Imagine a very long chain of dominoes. Now imagine you see a part of the chain, where a domino is falling, leading to the next one falling which leads to the next falling etc. It would be logically impossible for that chain to not have a beginning domino. There must be one. It cannot go back into infinity, because then it would never reach the point you saw the dominoes falling.
      This is what we call the impossibility of an infinite regression of causes. In other words, it only makes sense for there to be an uncaused first cause.
      And that's what the bible teaches about God. He is that uncaused first cause. He has stooped down to our level in Jesus, demonstrating many things including his love for mankind, his power and justice.

      Also another thought about when people ask "how did God make himself" is that He isn't subject to time like we are. He doesn't adhere to the laws of science like we do. He didn't have to be created because He "was" before all time and matter therefore there was no specific time he was "created". He's just always been, if that makes sense

    I don't know why, but the more I look up into science, the more I see, the more I look of those extraordinary things our world can do. It only makes me believe more and more... Our world is really perfect man, how nature works, how even the animals food web have a balance and a meaning, how every animal have some kinda of purpose, how our bodies works, ecosystems, our minds. All of ours emotions. How the whole earth works... It's truly perfect and balanced to give life. And by knowing all of that, it makes me believe more that God exists. We can not prove him, cause our minds can not even process what a god is. A comment said something "it's like our minds are a computer programs, we have limits" something like that. We can not even image how big the universe is, all we have is numbers. Those things only makes me think more and more that God exists. That's my way of looking at it. Not believing is faith, and believing is also a faith. No one truly knows, but we definitely have a reason to believe.

    great video, and great example using the drawings! I once saw a video explaining it the same way but with the idea of a video game world instead of a drawing.
    it's awesome that God is always working in our lives and the world. it's also been a huge faith builder for me to see God at work in every way. there were many times when I have noticed God protecting me in dangerous circumstances, and seen Him ancwer my prayers. ever since I was a child God has always been very real to me as real as my family and friends. even when I was angry or in a rebellious phase I knew God was real even though at the time I did'nt want Him to be.
    your videos are always a good encouragement and reminder, and your smiles when you talk are a gift from God to you to cheer people up. thanks again!

    Also there is a movie and its on Netflix that my Sunday School teacher told my class about. It's called the case for Christ. I have only seen the first 20 minutes of the movie but basically it's about a couple and the husband doesn't believe in God and I think the wife is unsure but comes to believe. The husband gets sick of arguing with his wife about God's existence so He sets out to disprove God. But the cool thing is by trying to disprove God he ends up proving God exists. This is based on a true story as well and I encourage people to see the movie and I hope to have some time to continue to watch it as well.

    One of the main reasons we can based our faith in God is the way He miraculously changes lives, there are many amazing wonderful surprising testimonies of Christians around the world watching which makes our faith stronger and our walk humbler before our Lord. Of course there are logical, reasonable arguments for the existence of God, but once His Spirit is left us because of our unbelief and sinful lives we begin to even doubt those logical and reasonable arguments for His existence. Unbelief is after all like addiction or disease, if left unchecked it will be difficult to get out of it.

    Hi Becca! I love your videos so much. I became a Christian about 2 years ago. It would be great if you could make a video about being a Christian when your parents aren't, because it's a situation that I'm in. They are completely accepting and my friends are Christians so I'm very lucky. Thank you so much for making amazing videos and sharing your passion for God !:)

    I *want* to believe in god. I really do. But these arguments for his existence don’t make logical sense.
    *Provable* science explains every single point that’s brought up here. We can prove science. We can prove that gravity influences things. We can’t prove that god is influencing or causing any of these things.

      Connectid Tech I think how people come into a relationship with Christ is different for everybody, we all have different circumstances and problems. In a world so chaotic and random we just come looking for answers to questions like “God why I am in this situation, I’m in so much pain”, some pray to God to relieve their worries (which is better and healthier than suffering alone and coping with it in ways that will never satisfy them).
      Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
      Sometimes all the proof a person needs to believe in God is their own experience and how He answered their prayers.

      @@arilynstarks2977 The way we know he exists is because we are way too complex compared to every single other creature. We were made and designed from God, he gave us a conscience so we know what is right from wrong. If you want to become more faithful, read the Bible (King James Version is the best version, not the New King James Version). We know the Bible is true because it does not contradict history, it complements it, there is evidence of Sodom and Gomorrah, where only the one spot in the world which the Bible says rained brimstone, has geological evidence that it has the highest concentration of sulfur than anywhere in the world, and there are still remains of the homes. The Bible also prophesied Jesus' Crucifixion, and the rise of the many kingdoms such as the Greeks, Romans, and Alexander the Great etc. years and years before the idea existed. Please read, there's literally nothing more important than getting close to God.

    • @rogue_ingenuity
      @rogue_ingenuity 4 года назад +4

      You actually can’t validate “scientific” evidence to explain the creation of everything. It’s all based on probability, even in biology textbooks extrapolating the bing bang theory or symbiotic evolution, everything referenced has to be probable because humans weren’t around to legitimize anything. So upon realizing that, it’s one’s own personal conviction to believe science or believe in God. For me personally, I’ve come to the belief that this world and it’s physical/natural forces are too distinct and accurately apportioned to just be happenstance. It is evidence of a divine being and creator for me. And I am in awe of God’s power every single day:)

No one truly knows, but we can definitely have a reason to believe.

      You're so welcome Becca, I also really like when you told about the boys question in the science class. The question and answer is one of the biggest arguments on the creation evolution debate. It's so sad when these young kids grow up in church learning the Bible and help from their parents and other people, living for the lord and the first year of college their not sure what they believe anymore. Anyways thanks again Becca.

    Some people who don't believe in God ask the question about "If God created us then who created God" But like the piece of paper thing Becca just showed. In our world we live with cause and effect. Everything that happens has a cause therefore we need a creator, but God is not of our world in the sense that in that realm there is no need for cause and effect which means there is no need for something to create God. This is sometimes hard for us to wrap our minds around because we can only really understand our world. The only thing we know is our world of cause and effect. But God is beyond our world.

    Yes, I can see how "God" is working in the lives of children in Africa that die of starvation on the order of around 3.6 million every year, consistently. Truly amazing power he has to end the suffering and pain these children needlessly go through before their death. But remember, "God works in mysterious ways".......

    • @FarAwayDistance
      @FarAwayDistance  7 лет назад +12

      It breaks my heart that people still don't have clean water & are starving. As soon as I graduate, I am going to go to somewhere in this world to help those people as much as possible - whether it be the DR or Uganda. I believe it is our job to help those people & to get them what they need when it comes to food, water, clothes & shelter.
      As hopeless as this world can seem, there are amazing people in countries like Haiti and Tanzania building water solutions and feeding the hungry. Compassion International is my favorite non-profit organization because they are constantly helping people in all of the countries they can. I would be in Haiti right now helping people, and I'm going there over spring break, but I first need to get an education to be able to help them to the best of my abilities. When I graduate I will be going there to hopefully teach those children and give them the food & water they need to survive. People are doing things!! I promise. I know it's unfair that people still die from hunger, it breaks my heart and makes me so angry. I'm doing what I can and that's the best I can do for right now!! But those people (in third world countries) are some of the kindest and most generous people in the world even though they have nothing. God may seem absent, but many people living in poverty in those countries have hope that He is real & that He loves them despite their circumstances!!

    • @OtayNZ
      @OtayNZ 7 лет назад +4

      *****
      This is my point. It is people that make the difference, *people!* God doesn't seem to care less or be present in any demonstrable fashion, yet folk like yourself will claim God is healing, working and present in their lives all the time. Helping find things like their car keys, coincidental occurrence that end favorably and make them feel good. However, where is he when it comes to situations where he actually needs to be present? Children constantly dying of AIDS, malnutrition and no access to drinking water? These people/children are almost certainly believers, just like you, who in an almost statistically predictable fashion, do not have their prayers answered and die slow painful deaths of enduring suffering
      It is great that you wish to go and help these countries, I am involved through donations to non-profit secular organizations. These organizations are completely non-affiliated with any religious belief and solely are doing this good for the sake of wanting to help people. God is not working through them and before you claim he is, you'd need to prove it is the case. I don't work for God nor do I do anything "good" in any fashion for such a belief. I do good because I understand I am a human that can suffer just the same as anyone else and I don't want others to suffer too. Your God supposedly believes and wills the same thing but purports infinitely more power than I, yet I seem to be making a bigger difference than he does, go figure.

    • @FarAwayDistance
      @FarAwayDistance  7 лет назад +4

      And that's awesome! It makes me very happy that you care and are helping to make a difference!! Not everyone does care so I am really glad about that! I wish I could talk to you in person about suffering & why God allows it and everything because that is a HUGE can of worms! It's a super tough topic, too big to discuss over a comment here, but even with suffering, I still believe in God. I am not saying you have to or that you are wrong for not believing! I respect you for what you believe! I will be making a video over this topic soon, it just might now be for a couple of months sadly.

    • @OtayNZ
      @OtayNZ 7 лет назад

      I would be happy to discuss over skype if you like?

    • @OtayNZ
      @OtayNZ 7 лет назад

      Or if not I am happy to discuss it here.
      As an ex-Catholic, I don't really think the problem of evil is entirely an issue. You can easily prevent further criticism by just saying "you don't know the mind of God, he could be doing this all for something that you cannot comprehend". Much like how a parent has their children do/not do things the child does not understand but is for their own good. Whilst this is quite unsatisfactory, especially when we witness things that we, even as infinitely less intelligent beings, deem as unnecessary. It does prevent further criticism.
      However, I think the problem of Divine Hiddenness is but greater of an issue. Where it does not comport that a God who wants to have a personal relationship with people does not readily communicate or make himself aware to people so that anyone can have a relationship. Instead he remains hidden and gates access to this relationship with using a completely unreliable method for reaching "truth", this is faith. To any skeptic or person who is a rationlist, this method prevents belief in not only the biblical God but also ghosts, spirits and all the gods of other religions (the ones you likely do not believe in either). This is not how to have a relationship and is in clear contradiction with his own decree. I do not see why a damascus road epxerience is good enough for Saul but not good enough for the rest of us...
