Handel is a blessing to Mankind...
As Dr David Starkey says, I "worship at the altar of Handel."
This was sung for my mother's funeral. I get a little teary eyed when I hear it now.
This is a heart -felt performance of this great aria by a lovely soprano and a single violin a duet with a wonderfully spare accompaniment.
Her rendition is lovely. So pure and true.
The violinist’s tone and playing 😱❤️
Had this played at my mums funeral, just beautiful ❤️
I am living proof that my redeemer liveth. He brought me through the valley of the shadow of death. I will always love, adore and worship him.
Like Job in the Bible, who said those sacred words, "I know that my Redeemer liveth," I also know that My Redeemer liveth, because He lives in my heart. I thank Amanda for her beautiful rendition.
Like? Uh ... I thought everyone knew this was straight from the Bible. Learn something new every day.
1st ever written book of the Bible, Job, even before the Merneptah stele, the 1st obituary of Israel. The Jew and the scriptures especially the Dead Sea Scrolls are evidence of God. It amazes me how Job knew of the bodily resurrection and that gives every believer hope. Amanda's beautiful voice conveys praise to God and the message of hope in Jesus, The Messiah.
🥱
Right on! We also know that he lives because the resurrection is evidentially provable.
@@KevinGenus I think you missed his grammatical usage of "like."
What a masterpiece composition ,such words penned down some centuries ago continue to usher the same powerful message today as they did in that epoch.
Exactly, it should be that way! It is The Word Of God- Ever Old and Ever New!! Happy Listening!
No matter what she sings, she gives me gooseflesh. A wonderful, wonderful singer, so passionate!
Yes my redeemer lives🙌Soon resurrection day, reminds us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and that that he shall stand upon the earth again one day❤️
And the evidence for this is where? Get real.
Sublime inspiration. The music of Heaven fit for angelic voices.Great job!
I could listen to her voice forever. I never tire of this piece.
Very beautiful and touching! Thank you for sharing.
I know that my redeemer liveth
And that he shall stand
At the latter day, upon the earth
I know that my redeemer liveth
And that he shall stand
At the latter day, upon the earth
Upon the earth
I know that my redeemer liveth
And he shall stand
Stand at the latter day, upon the earth
Upon the earth
And though worms destroy this body
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
I know that my redeemer liveth
And though worms destroy this body
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Shall i see God
I know that my redeemer liveth
For now is Christ risen from the dead
The first fruits of them that sleep
Of them that sleep
The first fruits of them that sleep
For now is Christ risen
For now is Christ risen from the dead
The first fruits of them that sleep
Love
Thank you!
Run short of words to describe this presentation of God's word in music. The lyrics sooo touching. _. hard to imagine how Job could be so resolute inspire of the pain he had to bear. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece.❤
I’ve heard this so many times: in draughty Yorkshire churches, echoing cathedrals, over the radio and telly and even my dear sister warbling about the house. It’s always simple and fresh like all of Handel’s best-remembered melodies: Amanda Forsythe and the Fire would have won his approval.
It's always beautiful to listen to Amanda Powell
She tutored me in voice in 2020 and since then i Have touched many lives on community as a singing voice coach.
Many thanks to her
What an incredible performance.
Congratulations to Ms. Sorrell, Ms. Powell, Ms. Novom and Mr. Schiffer on their tremendous artistry and musicality.
May you have many more fine successes
Love the Scottish folk sounding fiddle and slow tempo and skill of the singer.
I LOVE just a very expressive violin and cello...as opposed to a full orchestra!
What a beautiful voice...
Indeed I know that my redeemer liveth ❤️
Superb ! Many thanks for sharing ...
Great/Perfect performance by both the orchestra and the soloist Amanda Powell! Thanks for sharing this video here on RUclips!
Just love the chamber quality of this interpretation!!! Soloists are fabulous! Thank you!
Wonderful. Thanks.
Such beauty! What an amazing and peaceful interpretation! Brilliant!
Om goodness how inspiring how absolutely wonderful🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Beautiful performance by Amanda.
So beautiful - thrilling music and soaring voice!
The soloist is astonishing, a unique talent. She has a voice bigger than that hall.
Blessings from Taiwan 🇹🇼😇🧧💖🥰
What a BEAUTIFUL song 💖 to REMIND us that our redeemer lives so we will have ETERNAL HOPE 😇🥳
Hope EVERYONE will VISIT Taiwan when the pandemic is over. 🇹🇼🥳
Excellent performance, tonal balance, and audio fidelity. Cheers!
E' sempre molto coinvolgente ascoltare le cose eseguite da Apollo's Fire e la voce di Amanda. Ancora congratulazioni.👌
Wow just wow sometimes there are no words❤
Her version is simply the best it puts my mum to continuous tears
Gorgeous !!!
"Porque eu sei que o meu Redentor vive, e que por fim se levantará sobre a terra.
E depois de consumida a minha pele, contudo ainda em minha carne verei a Deus,
Vê-lo-ei, por mim mesmo, e os meus olhos, e não outros o contemplarão; e por isso os meus rins se consomem no meu interior." (Jó 19.25-27)
Got to see Amanda perform this past Saturday with Apollo's Fire... wow what an incredible voice!!
That was AWESOME!!!!!
Wonderful!
Aah those musicians heavenly
Perfect childlike soprano voice for this Baroque piece.
Not childlike. A thoroughly trained and perfectly controlled clear voice free from the blur and wobble of the 19th century romantic tradition, perfect for Handel.
@@RalphHancock You either misunderstood or are just trying to be contrarian. The voice has a childlike purity. Not debating it. Toodles.

The Glory of the Lord shines forward like an everlasting beacon ;the Voice the Violin are so Melodious and harmonious just like our heavenly father Beautiful monster and the Violin glorious Hallelujah and Hallelujah again
Very powerful what Jesus did.❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
I know that my redeemer liveth. 🙏
Dude in the back is feeling the same as me.
Amanda, your embellishments are stunning and moved me to tears. Bravi tutti.
Beautiful. Reminds at age 18, I accompanied a great soloist at organ on Easter Sunday, Jabalpur, India. I am now 69, New Delhi. Violin accompaniment is great
Oh so beautiful. PRACHTIG!!!
Incredible control!!!
I know that my redeemer liveth, for I hear Him in Sorrell’s orchestra and Powell’s voice.
Thank you for posting. So lucky to be able to see AF in performance. Wish we'd been there for this one.
I always enjoy her melodious voice
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Wow wow Amen
I am a lifelong atheist, but this song gets me every time. Simply sublime.
God bless you.
Don't worry, Haendel was probably not much of a believer himself
Hey me too, but I love much of the Messiah and i am a big Amanda fan. great music is great music, talent is talent.
As a lapsed Catholic, the eternal wonder of how music like this came to be is the biggest piece of evidence of the divine keeping me from being a full on atheist. “Yet in my flesh, shall I see God.”
Praise the LORD who sent His Son to come and live our example, and then to suffer and die for us to redeem us from sin and give us His promises! And send us His Holy Word in the Holy Bible so we can be ready for that day of His return, which is drawing very very near! We shall behold Him in all His unveiled glory!
The day every heart longs to behold! May each one begin to turn to His Word before then so that they will understand the times and prepare their hearts. Read John chapter 14, the best is in the King James version. Be blessed and be searching for that love above all loves, the love of God.
I really wish this particular performance was featured on Apollos' or Amanda's spotify. Absolutely incredible
Wow wow wow wow 😳😳
A perfect duett of two wonderful singers.
...la sua voce cristallina, genuflette anche il violino.....
Nicely done beautifully executed.

Very nice

Good one
Margaret Marshall sets the bar in John Elliot Gardner's Messiah, but here we have a fantastic singer, total props!!!!
Muito lindo
I found this recording while searching for a version to be played at the funeral of a dear friend, by her request. I think this lady, whom I didn't previously know, has an absolutely wonderful voice, and sings with great feeling. The accompaniment is simply outstanding and most unusual, it is minimalist but highly effective. The version I would have chosen is the 1941 Isobel Baillie recording which I have known for more than 50 years but it has very poor sound quality. Isobel Baillie sings this song straight, pure and simple, and straight from the heart. Grace notes are not, and never have been, to my personal taste, and, very unfortunately, as this performance progressed, there was a positive rash of them, spoiling my enjoyment and rendering this recording unsuitable for my purpose. I have since discovered the version by Lynne Dawson, with whom I was also previously unacquainted. This is the current front runner, but the search continues..... In the meantime I shall look out for other recordings by Amanda Powell.
look up "the three amanda's"" from apollo's fire. I recently went to a performance of this, my first time and so then went looking for different performances on you tube and this is surely one of the very best. She is magnificent. I wish I could see the entire thing done by them
This, too!
Waaaaouuuuuh!!!!!!!!! SUPER

Does anyone know what version this is? It's different to mine and i love it... thanks

I do video recording myself. While I like the video, this is a very good audio recording. What kind of mics did you use to record the video, if you do not mind my asking? Thanks in advance.
That violin though.
Ressemblance étonnante entre Amanda Powell et Amanda Forsythe ?
Job lived about 500 years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Job got it right!

I Know My Redeemer Liveth
George Frideric Handel
I know that my redeemer liveth
And that he shall stand
At the latter day, upon the earth
I know that my redeemer liveth
And that he shall stand
At the latter day, upon the earth
Upon the earth
I know that my redeemer liveth
And he shall stand
Stand at the latter day, upon the earth
Upon the earth
And though worms destroy this body
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
I know that my redeemer liveth
And though worms destroy this body
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Yet in my flesh shall i see God
Shall i see God
I know that my redeemer liveth
For now is Christ risen from the dead
The first fruits of them that sleep
Of them that sleep
The first fruits of them that sleep
For now is Christ risen
For now is Christ risen from the dead
The first fruits of them that sleep

I didn’t notice it, but I am not a man !
I referring to the nasty remarks about Amanda’s dress, which is not open.
I like her voice sans excessive vibrato. Opera voices are often too much vibrato.
