Like Job in the Bible, who said those sacred words, "I know that my Redeemer liveth," I also know that My Redeemer liveth, because He lives in my heart. I thank Amanda for her beautiful rendition.
1st ever written book of the Bible, Job, even before the Merneptah stele, the 1st obituary of Israel. The Jew and the scriptures especially the Dead Sea Scrolls are evidence of God. It amazes me how Job knew of the bodily resurrection and that gives every believer hope. Amanda's beautiful voice conveys praise to God and the message of hope in Jesus, The Messiah.
Yes my redeemer lives🙌Soon resurrection day, reminds us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and that that he shall stand upon the earth again one day❤️

I’ve heard this so many times: in draughty Yorkshire churches, echoing cathedrals, over the radio and telly and even my dear sister warbling about the house. It’s always simple and fresh like all of Handel’s best-remembered melodies: Amanda Forsythe and the Fire would have won his approval.
What an incredible performance. Congratulations to Ms. Sorrell, Ms. Powell, Ms. Novom and Mr. Schiffer on their tremendous artistry and musicality. May you have many more fine successes

Not childlike. A thoroughly trained and perfectly controlled clear voice free from the blur and wobble of the 19th century romantic tradition, perfect for Handel.
Beautiful. Reminds at age 18, I accompanied a great soloist at organ on Easter Sunday, Jabalpur, India. I am now 69, New Delhi. Violin accompaniment is great
As a lapsed Catholic, the eternal wonder of how music like this came to be is the biggest piece of evidence of the divine keeping me from being a full on atheist. “Yet in my flesh, shall I see God.”
Praise the LORD who sent His Son to come and live our example, and then to suffer and die for us to redeem us from sin and give us His promises! And send us His Holy Word in the Holy Bible so we can be ready for that day of His return, which is drawing very very near! We shall behold Him in all His unveiled glory! The day every heart longs to behold! May each one begin to turn to His Word before then so that they will understand the times and prepare their hearts. Read John chapter 14, the best is in the King James version. Be blessed and be searching for that love above all loves, the love of God.

He lives, He lives, who once was dead; He lives, my everlasting Head. 2 He lives triumphant from the grave, He lives eternally to save, He lives all-glorious in the sky, He lives exalted there on high. 3 He lives to bless me with His love, He lives to plead for me above, He lives my hungry soul to feed, He lives to help in time of need. 4 He lives to grant me rich supply, He lives to guide me with His eye, He lives to comfort me when faint, He live to hear my soul's complaint. 5 He lives to silence all my fears, He lives to wipe away my tears, He lives to calm my troubled heart, He lives all blessings to impart. 6 He lives, my kind, wise, heav'nly Friend, He lives and loves me to the end; He lives, and while He lives, I'll sing; He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King. 7 He lives and grants me daily breath; He lives and I shall conquer death; He lives my mansion to prepare; He lives to bring me safely there. 8 He lives, all glory to His name! He lives, my Jesus, still the same. Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives, "I know that my Redeemer lives!"

I found this recording while searching for a version to be played at the funeral of a dear friend, by her request. I think this lady, whom I didn't previously know, has an absolutely wonderful voice, and sings with great feeling. The accompaniment is simply outstanding and most unusual, it is minimalist but highly effective. The version I would have chosen is the 1941 Isobel Baillie recording which I have known for more than 50 years but it has very poor sound quality. Isobel Baillie sings this song straight, pure and simple, and straight from the heart. Grace notes are not, and never have been, to my personal taste, and, very unfortunately, as this performance progressed, there was a positive rash of them, spoiling my enjoyment and rendering this recording unsuitable for my purpose. I have since discovered the version by Lynne Dawson, with whom I was also previously unacquainted. This is the current front runner, but the search continues..... In the meantime I shall look out for other recordings by Amanda Powell.
