The Three Amandas remind us of our mortality in a far more pleasant way than the current medical emergency! Beautiful voices all and alluring dance! Apollo’s Fire continue to bring splendid music to us under difficult circumstances. It’s a pity that the ensemble need to wear masks as the facial expressions and communication are a joy to watch under normal circumstances. However the body language still radiates the pleasure of each musician in the making of their music! Jeannette Sorrell you have created something wonderful in bringing together such talented and enthusiastic artists in Apollo’s Fire! Thank you all for bringing your music into our lives. The world is more wonderful because of you!
Seeing the musicians playing with their masks on, it seems incredible and nightmarish what we all have gone through, and I can only revive the emotion I felt the first time we were allowed to attend concerts again

Am I the only one who gets confused between Amanda Forsythe and Amanda Powell? Great performance, and the screens are a nice innovation to keep the music going without endangering the singers.

Although I still think Marco Beasley OWNS this song, it was nice to see it tackled by Sorrell. Having said that, the Amanadas' approach was a bit incongruous to the sobering text, even campy at times - such as the "snake charmer" dance moves.
what is stupid is those dividers. the air still goes out forward. it all mixes with what is breathed. when will people realize that these "precautions" are purely psychological comfort providers for the fear they have induced.... . wake up sheep.

Singers are full of exaggeration, and over interpretation here. The strings arrangement is nice though. Baroque is made for exaggeration - and to call the version you offer "subdued" is not entirely exact. Mr Beasley goes into full theater mode and at times simply stops singing in order to recite the text instead. Nice, but... not "better". No opinion on pronunciation - my Italian's not good enough for that.
