I have just watched several versions of this aria, and this soprano is the one who made who made it sound the most effortless and lilting, so that the listener is enjoying the lyrics instead of straining along with the soloist. Well done, Francisca Kusi-Ababio. She also seems to be enjoying the message, instead of of just trying to hit notes..

I like the fact that her African accent is coming through in the song just as you would hear an italian accent if done by an Italian for instance. Weldone
Yes! And it adds to her diction coming out clearly, which is a critical aspect of delivery aesthetic. Whitney Houston aways made sure her diction was on point so that people could understand the words to her songs. So many times you hear opera sung in English, but you cannot understand the words. Absolutely stunning voice, with phenomenal control and seemingly effortless high notes. The ornamentation was thoughtful and, in my view, entirely appropriate. To top it all, the orchestra performed beautifully and was very well conducted. A revelation.

Excellent!!! I keep Coming back to hear Francisca again and again. What a beautiful voice she has. GFH stopped over in my home town of Chester, putting the finishing touches to Messiah before sailing from nearby Parkgate to Dublin for its world premier. Could he ever have imagined that a performance from Gramphone Ghana would once be freely available at the touch of a button, world wide, in vision as well as sound? How blessed we are.
