this was recommended after watching tons of mini reviews and im thrilled to have found it. I write with my right hand very similar to you and constantly have my hand rested on my screen of my ipad. This cleared up my worries about the ipad mini fitting my writing style!!
As a student who just bought the iPad Pro M1 a few days ago, I feel like the mini could have been as good of a purchase for students like me. I was actually considering purchasing the mini, but seeing the actual size of it and holding it in my hands I didn’t realize how small it would be. I wouldn’t recommend it to people who uses the pencil a lot, since your palm will constantly be falling off the screen while taking notes. If you are a student considering the mini because of its low price considering it’s an Apple product, go for the Air or wait for the next Air generation 5 unless you really feel the need for compact tablets. The iPad Pro is also worth the extra 200 bucks if you have leftover budget. Overspec & The premium feel of the pro is worth it trust me. You won’t regret it!
Totally agree here! I still think the Mini is a fantastic option though, I don’t find the palm thing too much of an issue as I lay it flat when I write anyway! My girlfriend just got a M1 iPad Pro and loves it. To be honest they don’t make bad iPads so it’s whatever suits you best! Thanks for the support! 🙌🏼
I love it so far! I just picked it up today from the Apple Store after selling my 8th gen iPad. Been waiting to purchase this for SOOO long! Love the vid!
That was a really well presented and produced video! You have real potential to grow the channel. I've just got the Mini and it is a great thing to have - number one is the functionality to size ratio. If you add a small folding keyboard, you have something that can do almost anything that a laptop can do (admittedly, some at a pinch) but in a form factor that will fit inside a coat pocket!
Such a great review! I enjoyed it very much. As a fellow creative person and student, I love my iPad mini. Some apps you might be Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo work amazing (even tho the interface is a bit small on the mini). Those are quite a good replacement for the adobe programs especially because there is no subscription required! keep up the good work! ps: I'd be interested in a review of your Capisco Puls chair! got my standard Capisco a week ago and I'm so in love with it!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I use the Adobe apps as I already pay for the subscription for my photos and video editing software so it makes sense that I use them. I’ll add a review of my Capisco Puls to the list of videos too! I’m not sure how I’ll approach a chair review but I’ll find a way I’m sure! 😅😂
really thorough review! i'm considering the mini for the same reason - paper is such a hassle to store, and reviewing notes on a laptop gives me back pain. although one question - do you notice the jelly scrolling effect when vertical scrolling? i see a lot of people point it out and haven't gone to see it myself. just a suggestion - add timestamps! your videos are high quality and i enjoyed the review a lot!
Thank you! I definitely will it was on my list to add and I completely forgot! I will add them on. And yes there is a slight jelly scroll effect. I didn’t cover it in this video as I think it’s been covered enough… not really the end of the world in my opinion. Shouldn’t be happening but also doesn’t really diminish my feelings for it or deter my use of it at all. Thanks for the supportive feedback! 😁
Hey Lucas great review. I am a management student and I have about half of my program left. Do you recommend purchasing the mini plus pencil combo now or should I wait for some time as they are probably going to refresh the mini? Thanks, great video
I use 12.9 heavily for my study but when this came out i still want it hahaha. Since i am so used to bigger screen, i can’t decide if its a good decision to buy mini. Even if i bought it, it would just be my media consumption device and bring with me when i go out. But i dont have a spare money for that so i will just stick to my 12.9 haha great video btw, i just subscribed.
@@LucasJohnsonFaustino Finally i got mini a few days ago with 160SGD discount from online authorize shop shopee (similar to amazon) 😂 I was hesitant to buy mini 6 because i used mini 5 before with pencil gen 1 and feel so small, therefore i sold it. Now mini 6 the screen size is a slightly bigger, i do not feel that its small while writing. And now I understand all of the points u mentioned in ur video. I'm bringing it with me everywhere i go. 🥲 Oh and i got 256 cellular, will be using this until it stop operating 🤣🤣
@@chrisdanielfindeisen2755 yeah I guess it depends on how you write or how much you are looking to write! I don’t find it to be a problem but I can see how it may be a little small for some people too!
The bag is from DoucheBags - I believe it’s called the Scholar I’m not certain if they make it anymore but I’m sure they’ve got something very similar. It’s a really solid bag too, built really well, padded and with good sized pockets. Highly recommend their bags! You can also get lucky with a sale or reduced price at certain times of year as they can be pricey!
Everything is great about the iPad but definitely get the 256gb version. 64gb is just too small in 2022, where just One Single movie in 4k can be more than 10Gbs sometimes! I have the whole Pirates of the Caribbean 5 movie set in 4k which is almost 40GBs alone, and with no SD Card Slot, this is a problem.

Of course, my experience was absolutely fine with 64GB but I guess it depends on how you store your files and how many you have! I had 64GB but I stored lots in iCloud because I have 1TB of storage there so there was not all that much on the iPad itself. However if you don’t use iCloud Storage I’d probably recommend 256gb to make sure you don’t run out.
