Wanted to add on to tip 5, yes there are no “banned” names but most of the fandom has collectively agreed not to use the suffix -spirit. The only canon cat with the suffix is Brightspirit who is a character named after an actual fan, Emmy Grace Cherry, who passed away in a tornado accident.
So yes technically -spirit isn’t banned, but just don’t be surprised if it rubs people the wrong way if you use it for a character.

Lol I have a hard time making stories centered on one character. I had an idea for a story longer than a novella by shorter than a super edition that centered on once chapter- a timid cat that was never meant to be leader named Larchstar. He’s ThunderClan leader during a time when ThunderClan is about to fall apart, when a dog attacks him and his deputy, killing her and badly injuring him- which takes one of his nine lives. Twolegs save him and he finds himself in Twolegplace, where he gets a group of cats that are willing to join ThunderClan (which is very small now and needs new warriors), one of which he falls in love with. He was going to come home to a Clan that was barely held together y his medicine cat, a random warrior that he makes his deputy, and his apprentice that was ready to be given his warrior name. It’s probably going to be a full super edition, tho, because as I was making the allegiances list, I chose the name Mossflower, a calico she-cat with long fur, and Frogfoot, RiverClan’s deputy a green-eyed white, polydactyl tom.
Mossflower is a young warrior and 1 of 6 active warriors. Not long after receiving her first apprentice (Sandypaw), there’s a fire in ThunderClan territory. As they’re escaping, a flaming stick falls on her upper back and leaves a huge burn scar across her shoulders that leaves her with limited mobility of her front legs- if she moved them too far or too fast, she’ll be in pain. She has to retire early due to this, but Sandypaw refuses to be taught by anyone but her because she and Larchstar are the only adults who ever accepted him as a trans tom.
I wanted to expand on her, so I had chapters where she was trying to help around camp as best she could and trying to convince Sandypaw to give his new mentor a chance. She meets a three-lugged loner named Rosie who offers to help the Clan hunt and makes Mossflower question if retirement was the right choice.
When Sandypaw’s new mentor is sick, Robinpaw- Larchstar’s apprentice that’s ready for a warrior name- convinces her to try let him help her train Sandypaw. She agrees and they find that Sandypaw learns best when he’s given a demonstration of a move and an explanation of it at the same time, something that’s hard for a single cat to do. While this is going on, Rosie teaches Mossflower ways she can hunt and fight that won’t hurt her. Mossflower gains more confidence in herself and slowly starts to take a leadership role in the Clan when Frogfoot comes to them with news that RiverClan plans to attack ThunderClan.
She leads the Clan in setting up traps and preparing for the fight, in the middle of which, Larchstar- who gained a lot of confidence after his adventures in the Twolegplace- leads the cats he’s bringing back into camp, where they help drive out the RiverClan cats.
After heading what happened while he was gone from his medicine cat, Larchstar talks with Mossflower and they come to the agreement that Mossflower still has much she can give to the Clan and that she should be made deputy so she doesn’t have to overwork her injury. Frogfoot is exiled from RiverClan for betraying them, but he’s welcomed into ThunderClan, where he, Larchstar, and the cat Larchstar fell in love with- a Norwegian forest cat named Conor, but is given the warrior name Houndheart- become a happy, gay thruple. Robinpaw and his litter mates are finally given their warrior names- they passed their assessment the day Larchstar was abducted- and Robinpaw becomes Robinsong because of Mossflower starting he was her “voice of reason” when she felt lost and confused about her place in ThunderClan. Rosie stays in ThunderClan and she and Mossflower start a relationship as well after realizing how close they had become. The story ends with it being made clear that Sandypaw and Robinsong are going to get together someday.
And that’s how a few names made me go from novella to super edition, which is going to lead into a series that revolves around the kits of a a few cats, Robinsong and Sandypaw’s kit included. (Sorry for the essay, I just started typing abs couldn’t stop)

My Warriors Oc stories take place in a different area than the five original clans, only consisting of two clan like societies being The Caverns and The Cliffs
The Cavern Cats have a different way of naming cats that happens often, that being their prefix may become their suffix at their warrior ceremony
This happened with SmolderingAsh, previously Ashpaw, DriftingRobin, previously Robinpaw, and LittleFlame previously Flamepaw. I think it’s fun to make up your own rules when it comes to naming especially if your story takes place outside the original clans. I mean, it’s your story, go wild with it!

Another tip from an expert namer (WCUE player). I had an OC once, that I just didn't know what to name. She was an elegant, ruthless and hardworking she-cat with a long tail. She had short, pointy white fur, with a grey cape and darker grey stripes. She looked gorgeous, but I had no idea what to name her. And I personally don't like common names such as Ice, Feather, and stuff. So, I took some examples of the Warriors characters. For her, I chose: Bone (cuz.. stripes and white) and Ice/Snow. Then, I tried to think of "uncommon" words that are related to that word. For Ice I had Iced and Glazed (Cuz her fur was shiny). For Bone I came up with Ivory. I lovea the name Ivory. Because I had used her appearance for a prefix, I was going to dive into personality for the suffix. I wanted to say something about elegant and the slight hint of kindness that was burried deep in her. I thought of Song first, but decided against it. Then, I knew it, Petal. So, now, I have a beautiful name: Ivory'Petal. It even (kinda) makes sense.

      Heyy, WCUE gang!
Also, I have an oc named Everlasting`Eventide. I chose it through pretty much the same way as you.
I made an elegant-looking calico molly with severe anxiety. I wanted a kind of symbolic name, (tee-hee) so I chose the suffix word as "Sunset", because I thought ``Oh, Sunsets are pretty, but it's actually the fall of the sun!``. I then thought about "Forever" as the prefix, but "Forever`Sunset" isn't very catchy. So, I thought of synonyms for the words "Forever" & "Sunset". I couldn't come up with one, so I went to Thesaurus, where I found Eventide. Then I was like ``Oh! Wait! Everlasting`Eventide!``
Also now it's a joke between my friends that, since her name is so long, we all just type "Eveveveveveve" when referring to her, lol.

My OC who I am proudest of is probably Sunberry. I love how deep the relationship between his name and his sister's (Nightshade) goes.
Firstly there's the obvious difference between Sun and Night to show that the littermates are nothing alike (Nightshade is cruel and sadistic where as Sunberry is your typical "good boy"). But then there is also something I learned shortly before naming him: there is another plant of the nightshade (or if you prefer the latin name: Solanum) genus that is known as sunberry.
So the names of the siblings are at the same time almost opposites of eachother and almost the same. Which fits the theme of these characters perfectly.

I really like the inclusion of the “if you like it then keep it” rule. Honestly my favorite warrior OC has a simple name, Eggfur, and while I didn’t like it at first (randomly assigned during a roleplay when I forgot to plan her full name, I used to hate how boring it was that she got fur as a suffix and thought Eggfur didn’t flow at all) and I spent some time trying to think of a new name, I ultimately started loving the name Eggfur. It somehow felt so fitting of her in a way I just couldn’t explain. Then came when I’d talk about her with my friends, and they’d give me looks when I said her name is Eggfur, even the ones that were Warriors fans as well gave me that look of “that’s the name you’re going with?”
Of course I came to the conclusion I shouldn’t let their opinion of her name change how I view it, but I think some people just need that reminder of how it’s supposed to be fun for you yourself to make the character and as long as you the creator are happy with the character, then there’s probably no need to change any part of the character.
Now if you’ll excuse me I need to draw Eggfur because she’s my favorite and it feels like forever since I last drew her.

@@Milaa9987 Tysm! This comment made me really happy :) Here is a pretty long summary of what the story is currently (it is a bit cringe)
Basically, when he was a literal kit, he got a prophecy from 4 leaders (Badger’star, Rabbit’star, Wolf’star, Gloom’star)who together rule Moonclan (basically fancy Starclan) the leaders were best friends ever since they were apprentices and they all became leaders. A fatal war against all clans led the leaders to die together. When they died they were gifted a special clan to rule together, Moonclan. The only problem was they didn’t have deputies. They all chose a kit to prove their loyalty throughout their life and if they are loyal to the clan and Moonclan, they get to be the deputy. Oak’kit was given a prophecy by the leaders, telling him to follow the Riverclan river until he finds an abandoned twoleg camp. Oak’kit was eager enough to follow the prophecy. He didn’t know which way to follow the river and a patrol was approaching so he followed his gut until he found the camp. He then learned his role at future Moonclan deputy and BLA BLA. Fast forward a couple moons, he is an apprentice and friends with the 3 other future deputies (Brook’kit, Small’paw, Light’paw) One normal dream (they meet up in dreams together and hang out), the clans have another big war including them all. Shadowclan and Windclan plan to invade Riverclan and Thunderclan. Oak’paw and Small’paw play fought to prove they were loyal to their clans yet loyal to each other. As Oak’paw pins Small’paw down, Small’paw’s mentor, Cold’claw grabs Oak’paw and ends up killing him. Oak’paw is greeted with a panicked Wolf’star and since he doesn’t want what happened to him to happen to Oak’paw, he give Oak’paw another life, knowing Starclan may remove him from Moonclan for doing this. Oak’paw awakes in the med den, everyone thinks he has survived crazy injuries but it’s his secret of what really happened. A bunch of stuff happens that I haven’t written yet and now he gets his warrior name, Oak’tree. More stuff happens that I haven’t written and he becomes deputy. As he is traveling to Shadowclan to deliver a message, he gets hit by a monster/car. He is able to live in Moonclan living his best dead life :) *THE END*

My main warriors OC is Sunclaws! I’ve found that it’s a clever way to stay original, as I’ve seen two “Sunclaw” named OC’s, but never the plural version like I have. I try and name my cats prefixes based purely on appearance, and the suffixes based on personality traits or skills. Even then, I end up with cats that have the same name as cannon (ex. Nightstar) or as someone else’s OC sometimes. And that’s okay! I know that my Nightstar is unique and different than all the other ones, and that’s wonderful. I love seeing fun and unique names for peoples characters, but I am content with keeping it simple for mine. Great video!

Whenever I made my OC Rubyflower, I took insperation. It's not too bad to take reference from other sources. Maybe your OC has silver fur, with black splotches. You can go the normal route and name them Shadowspot or Shadelight or whatevs. Or, you can take my route, and take reference.
Maybe you want to make an OC based around your favorite character from another series. Or, in my case, a ship you ship. (Flowby, a BFDI ship, is what Rubyflower is based around)
I wanted to talk about personality, but I'm going to hold it off for if you make a sequal to this, titled 'How to make a personality for your Warriors OC' or something like that. I would love to see more of these kinds of videos so that not only can I share my OC with these people, but also read what their OCs are. I like reading other's material because I'm interested in what their OC is based around, whether that be the story, their personality, or, like Rubyflower, insperation from another series.

It’s usually the opposite with me lol I make a name and then a story falls into place around that character. The only exception I can think of off the top of my head is Flameheart, a mostly blind ancient ShadowClan cat from the old territories (pre-SkyClan’s exile).
I have a hard time writing stories for 1 or 2 characters, so I like to have a character from each Clan as a main Character so I can write a 6 book series with 25-30 chapter a book and 5-6 chapters a character. Makes story telling easier for me, so I can figure out time lines, conflicts, and things like that better. I plan the story for the chapter 1 character and I know that their chapters are 6, 11, 16, 21, and 26, so their story needs to fill out those chapters and line up with chapters 2 and 5 characters because I write the characters going in a circle (I start with ThunderClan, then go to either SkyClan or WindClan and continue for there). So is the ThunderClan cat hears something going on in WindClan or SkyClan territory at the end of his/her chapter, it gets explained in the next chapter of the WindClan or SkyClan cat.
Well, usually I have names all set and ready to go for each Clan, I just need a story for them to flesh out what I want to write. But ShadowClan is always hard for me because I know where I want that character’s story to go, I just can never NAME the character. I’ve been wanting to write a ShadowClan apprentice who loses most of her eye sight after something happens (not completely but she can only see lights, shadows, and can vaguely see colors if they’re bright enough) and is given the choice to either retire earlier or become a medicine cat. Instead, she chooses to leave and goes to Twolegplace, where she meets a loner she-cat that helps her learn how to work around her disablity. The reason I want this to be a ShadowClan cat is because, when she comes back and saves the Clan at the end of the first book, part of her speech about why she should be warrior is that “ShadowClan may live in the darkness, but none of you know how to make the darkness your own like I do.” (Bane, I know, but I love that “I was born in darkness” line!) she was going to be a black cat and the she-cat she meets was going to have such a brightly colored pelt that she (the blind cat) could somewhat see her. But like, that’s kind of a stupid reason for why she can see this cat or this color and not another cat of the same color if the cat wasn’t a glowing neon sign, so that was difficult to figure out.
I started a fanfic that takes place in the past at the old forest rather than in the future by the lake and had names for all the main characters except the ShadowClan one. Stoatpaw/frost/star of WindClan, Strikepaw/foot of SkyClan, Hazelpaw/branch of ThunderClan, and Bluepaw/stripe of RiverClan. So I decided to throw in my blind character and have her eyes damaged in a fire. That led me to the name Flamepaw/heart. In the end, the story behind the loss of her sight is this:
Flamepaw is the trans daughter of Palewhisker and Talonflame, and sister of Shrewpaw.
The snakes at Snake Rocks have bred out of oc trans are now spilling into other Clans, making them a big threat to everyone. At Flamepaw’s first gathering, it’s decided that the Clans will send small battle patrols to Snake Rocks together to fight them and kill as many snakes as possible. ShadowClan’s leader decides to send Flamepaw and Shrewpaw, despite them haven’t trained for only a moon. They’re excited, but their mother (Palewhisker) calls Darkstar out on this. He did something similar with Talonflame- his previous deputy and brother, and Palewhisker’s mate, the father of her kits, Flamepaw and Shrewpaw- sending him to fight rats alone which resulted in his death. She brings up the fact that Darkstar had wanted to be her mate but she chose Talonflame over him. Darkstar’s current deputy, TalonFlame’s best friend and Flamepaw’s mentor, Stonebrook, asks if he is hoping to erase Talonflame from the Clan by killing his kits. Darkstar pulls rank and basically tells them to shut up and deal with it. This is when Flamepaw learns that she was named after her father and her brother was named after his favorite prey, this makes her proud of her name.
During the battle with the snakes, things go wrong when a warrior is bitten and starts screaming in pain. It startles Flamepaw and when she turns back to the snake she’s fighting, it spits venom in her eyes. The last thing she sees is the snake getting ready to strike her and her brother getting between them. When she wakes up, she’s in the medicine cat den of the closet camp (ThunderClan) where she hears her mother arguing with Darkstar over the event, upset that her son was dead and her daughter was in such critical condition. She’s comforted by Hazelpaw, ThunderClan’s unwilling medicine cat apprentice. She tells Flamepaw how her mentor is very old and had no successor. With the other Clans not having any spare medicine cats, she threatened to retire without a successor if ThunderClan’s leader didn’t make the next appearance her apprentice. He agrees and Hazelpaw now has to live a miserable life she didn’t want.
Palewhisker stays in ThunderClan with Flamepaw, helping with hunting patrols and Flamepaw’s care. When Flamepaw final goes home and is given the choices of retirement or medicine cat training, she remembers Hazelpaw and how unhappy she was, so she leaves ShadowClan with Palewhisker. They stay in Twolegplace and meet a family of loners, one of which, a fluffy black she-cat named Storm who has yellow eyes so bright Flamepaw can vaguely see them. They become close.
Bluepaw has been having visions of being in Twolegplace with Flamepaw, Stoatpaw, Hazelpaw, and Strikepaw. At the next gathering, he overhears a couple ShadowClan cats talking about Palewhisker and Flamepaw leaving and he finds the other apprentice to talk about it. Hazelpaw, who knows they are part of some prophecy, says it must be a sign from StarClan and they make plans to meet at Four Trees the next night and go to Twolegplace at dawn. Hazelpaw is caught sneaking out by Squirrelpaw, an older apprentice who is looked down on for having a father that isn’t from ThunderClan. He goes with them and becomes close to Hazelpaw and Strikepaw, a cat who’s mother was running from Twolegplace when she found out she was pregnant. They find Palewhisker and Flamepaw and convince them to come back, but are attacked by Twolegplace rogues led by the main villain, Shred, who is revealed to be Strikepaw and Squirrelpaw’s father.
They’re chased into some drains, where it’s very tight. Palewhisker tells Flamepaw to be strong before facing Shred alone, sacrificing herself to make it impossible for him to get to the apprentices without taking the time to remove her body. The apprentices find their way out and are found by Storm. Her family take care of them for the night and Storm decides to join ShadowClan so Flamepaw won’t be alone.
The apprentices go home and Flamepaw tells Darkstar that she WILL be a warrior whether he likes it or not. Too heartbroken over the loss of Palewhisker, Darkstar agrees but tells her she’s on her own for figuring out hunting and battle skills, giving Storm (now Stormpaw) to Stonebrook to mentor.
And that’s what I have worked out so far.

Thank you! This really helped because I sometimes get stuck with stuff like that. Choosing a prefix and having the suffix be kit or paw and having the story start as they're younger and developing their character before choosing their suffix also helps. Because after you get characterization, names come easier.

I named my tom OC "Brokentail" and some people just said "change his name rn! There's already a Brokentail in the series!" I was like, but this is the best name who suits him! When he was a kit, he didn't played and speaked that much, like if his heart was "broken". They would name him Brokenheart, but at a fight against RiverClan in Sunningrocks (He is a TC cat), he lost half of his tail, so they named him Brokentail. Till this day some people hate on me cause of this, but, like you said, it's their problem then.

One of my Warrior Cat’s OCs goes by the name of Flintfeather. Basically, she was deputy of Thunderclan. From a young age she had been following the voices of the dark forest as they had been promising her supreme power. Flintfeather had been told by such voices to poison the two newest kits of TC, being told if she did so all obstacles of success would be out of the way. She had been so power driven her entire life she couldn’t resist. Flintfeather also enjoyed chaos. She was thrilled to see the scene unfold when the kits were found dead. (dont ask how she became deputy lol). However, one of the kits were managed to be saved. The kit told on Flintfeather. She was exiled. Soon after, Morningfrost became the new deputy. Heh, quite a coincidence he is also power hungry. Though, unlike Flint (flintfeather, now exiled from the clans, goes by Flint), Morningfrost has his limits. One night when going out on a walk he encountered Flint. While his brain told him to chase her off the clan’s territory, the rest of him wanted to know exactly what Flint did. He was intrigued. Overtime, the two got closer & became secretly mates. At some point, flint became a queen. One day, she had a master idea. Since Morningfrost was deputy, if the current leader, []star died, Morningfrost would become leader, then allowing Flint to rejoin the clans and care for their kit(s) in a proper, safe place. Flint came to the conclusion that the two could kill []star. Morning lured them out for a “chat”. Flint then ambushed them & fed them deathberries (flint’s specialty). Morning, of course, could not bare to actually attack his leader. Everyone in the clans knew him as a loyal, honest cat. Soon enough, he became leader. When Flint came back to the now Morningstar to pay a visit to let him know she had given birth to their one, singular kit and that they would be ready to rejoin the clans, Morningstar slashed at her, killing her. He has gotten what he wanted; control of TC. He wanted to change for the better, to help TC. Flint would not allow him to do this. He did, however, take in the kit in some sort of Oakheart way. Yeah. Very messy. But cool imo. I’m obsessed with villians lol.

another tip I'd like to put out there is:
names don't have gender! you don't have to name a female cat after a flower or a harmless rodent all the time, and you don't have to name a male cat after birds of prey or big strong animals all the time. i have a molly called wolfscream and a tom called cicadabuzz for that reason! personality should always be prioritized :)

Since everyone's talking about their OCs, i'll hop on too :D
My main Warriors OC is a SkyClan she-cat called Sparkheart. She has a gingerish-brown pelt, which is why she was given the prefix "spark". She was given the suffix "heart" because she's headstrong, determined, charismatic/charming, mischevious and persuasive, and her way of swaying other apprentices to agree with her or take place in a practical joke has been observed and compared with "a spark starting a fire". Also, I really love the name :>

I have a OC named Bantersong.
Bantersong’s personality is quiet, and respectful. Take it as reverse psychology, if you will.
Her personality as a kit was bashful and loud, which earned her the prefix Banter.
When she was at the edge of her apprentice phase, she was calm and gentle, like a beautiful bird’s song. This earned her the suffix Song.
Bantersong might be a good lawyer, but we haven’t tried that out yet.

Some of my OCs' clans have certain naming rules that differ from clan to clan.
Torrentclan: Give cats a prefix based on the first prey they catch as an apprentice. Leaders get the suffix -soul.
(e.g. Roekit - Roepaw - Salmonleap - Salmonsoul)
Cavernclan: Some cats get one-word warrior names. Leaders get the suffix -shine. (e.g. Cricketkit - Cricketpaw - Cricket - Cricketshine)
Vineclan: A cat's prefix becomes their suffix once they become a warrior. Leaders get no suffix changes, but medicine cats get the suffix -vine. (e.g. Berrykit - Berrypaw - Cloudberry - Cloudvine)
Some OCs i've created via these naming systems:
    Brookkit - Brookpaw - Codstripe
Sunkit - Sunpaw - Morningvine (would have been Morningsun if she'd been a warrior)
    Glowwormkit - Glowwormpaw - Glowworm
Also a few characters that i made for a warrior cats au of a series i liked:
Shadedjasper: Named after his personality and his appearance. Was an ominous, black-furred cat (shaded) with green eyes (jasper.)
Rubyspring: Also named after his personality and appearance. Was an energetic cat (spring) with a red torso (ruby.)
Hedgehogflight: Named after the phrase in the books "When hedgehogs fly." Gets into a lot of strange/unlikely situations with little to no explanation as to why. No clue why he would have been named that outside of that reason though, haven't come up with anything.

Green eyes help too and the fur can pass for bark. "-Cover" part was given to her for her protective and caring nature. Okay, here is some lore for my main character in my chapter book I'm making. His name is Dusk'Abyss, with some lore.
    Kit Lore
    -----------------------------
When he was born, Dusk'Kit was named after the warm, orange colored sky that his mother, OrangeTuft, experienced the SunDown before he was born. Dusk'Kit in this period of time was a quite energetic and swift tom, loving the other kits in the nursery. He would quite often chase his brother, Grass ' Kit, for the fun of it. Dusk'Kit also has a best friend named Storm'Kit. He was very excited when he turned 5 moons, because he wanted to be an apprentice.
    Apprentice Lore
    --------------------------------------
The leader at the time, Red'Star, would name him and his brother to Dusk'Paw and Grass'Paw, as well as StormKit got renamed as Storm'Paw. Dusk'Paw was assigned with the mentor of BlueHeart, who is a kind-hearted she cat who unusually has a blue colored pelt. RedStar also makes one of the apprentices, Sun'Paw, a warrior, naming him Sun'Spot. When Dusk'Paw starts his training, BlueHeart was really proud of his work as an apprentice. He would get freshkill for the elders without being asked, and much more helpful stuff. Unfortunately, DuskPaw crossed the border of ShadowClan, and got attacked my another apprentice that was quite large, therefore giving him a permanent scar on his shoulder and back. On the day of his warrior ceremony, the deputy, LightningLeap, called a meeting, as RedStar and HollyPelt didn't come back from their patrol. Then, HollyPelt makes an appearance at the enter ends of the camp, holding RedStar's body in her jaws. After sharing tongues, Dusk'Paw is named Dusk'Abyss, Storm'Paw is named Storm'Flurry and Grass'Paw is named Grass'Blade.
    Warrior Lore.
    ----------------------------------------------
    LightningLeap chose the Deputy as Sun'Spot. Dusk'Abyss had a bad feeling about the golden cat, and would later develop trust issues. DuskAbyss came back from a patrol, and LightningStar asked him to tell apprentices that they were going to a gathering. DuskAbyss told all apprentices except for the two cats, SoftPaw and FadePaw, and later finds out the FadePaw wanted the same suffix as Dusk'Abyss. After that, SunSpot came back with the body of Tree'Claw in his jaws, claiming he got bit by an adder/snake. {Also, forgot to mention this, but they are in ThunderClan} ThunderClan went to the gathering, while nothing exciting went on, and when they came back, two apprentices that were BrackenPaw and FadePaw were named BrackenTail and FadeAbyss. FadeAbyss later reveals that she wants to be mates with DuskAbyss, and he agreed. Later in the book, DuskAbyss figured out that SunSpot killed Tree'Claw, as well as he killed RedStar{He hit Red'Star with a branch}, but it was already too late because Lightning'Star dies due to GreenCough. SunSpot then becomes leader. SunStar would do horrible things like host raid parties and force two cats into battle, even with kits that need to become apprentices. He didnt even appoint a deputy because he though only he should rule ThunderClan. Dusk'Abyss and Fade'Abyss decide that they would go to WindClan and ask to drive him out, with promising WindClan they would fight side by side. Then comes WindClan, with some ThunderClan warriors so scared of SunStar that they fought beside him. SunStar eventually gets driven out. The medicine cat, Monarch'Wing, had to choose a new leader to lead , and she chooses DuskAbyss , which was a surprise {Totally.}
    Leader Life

      Leader Life
      ----------------------------------
After getting named as the leader of ThunderClan, he appoints his deputy as WhiteFoot. There was not much at the time because of the recent exile of SunStar-- Now known as SunSpot again. DuskStar also has 3 kits with FadeAbyss, with their names being Oak'Kit, Opal'Kit, and Bronze'Kit. After a few moons, rouges invade the clan territory and steal alot of prey, leading to little to no food for warriors after elders and apprentices were fed. DuskStar has had enough with this nonsense, and decides that he would send out a patrol to find the rouges and attempt to drive them out of the forest. DuskStar also decides he would lead the patrol, since he would probably be the strongest out of most cats to fight. They don't find any rouges the first patrol, but when DuskStar lead another, they found the rouges who were challenging him and the party of cats to a fight, which leads to the loss of his first life. On his second life lost, it was due to GreenCough, as it was winter. The third life lost was a battle with RiverClan because they found many fresh scents of ThunderClan on their territory, and losses his life. The forth life however was due to an infection in the lower leg. The 5th, 6th, and 7th were unknown, and the 8th and 9th was in "The Battle'
      "The Battle"
      ---------------------------------
A patrol found some scents of SunSpot on their territory. DuskStar was scared, as it was his 2nd to last life, and couldn't decide whether or not to declare battle on SunSpot. Many cats convinced him to make war with the exiled cat , and he ended up doing it. DuskStar didn't know how many cats that SunSpot would have , so DuskStar only took Half'Whisker, White'Foot, BlueHeart, and StormFlurry. This ends up with DuskStar losing his 8th life because of the unexpected amount of warriors that SunSpot had with him. StormFlurry would sadly die. DuskStar would be taken to camp to get more warriors to fight SunSpot's army of cats. Monarch'Wing, the medicine cat, would try to convince him into staying in the camp while he would get better after his 8th life being lost, but DuskStar insisted that he has to go, and that is an honor to die for the clan. With almost all of the warriors in ThunderClan, DuskStar's party was almost as big as SunSpot's. They fought and SunSpot had tackled and pinned DuskStar down, teaming up with a huge black pelted she-cat.
DuskStar would end up slashing Sun'Spots throat, then nearly killing him. The black she-cat would end up killing DuskStar with a few hits. DuskStar's last words were, ' ' You will make a great leader, WhiteFoot... or should I say WhiteStar.."

One of my OCs is called Tigressstripe (a pale-ginger she-cat with darker stripes, large shoulders and green eyes). Though I like her name a lot, the excess of Ss on her name bothers me.

Some of my OCs names (with meanings included)
Frostfeather - Her pelt is the colour of frost and she is as gentle as a feather
Darkfur - Her fur is black
Mistyleaf - He is blind so all he sees is mist, and as an accessory he wears a leaf in his ear
Goldenlight - His pelt is golden, and in his medicine cat apprentice days, he was able to help his sick leader, and was seen as a light to the clan
Sparkmoon - His fur looks like lightning, and in my universe, leaders are given the suffix moon
Leopard - His pelt has leopard markings
Shadowflight - Her mother put a bad image on her, but she was able to get away from her dark image
Cinderflame - His fur is the colour of cinder, and he is a strong warrior
Lynxclaw - He is strong and as fluffy as a lynx
Twigheart - Her stripes look like twigs, and she is quite kind
Swifttalon - He is quick and fiesty

I have two main warrior OCs, GoldStripe ( placeholder name) and OwlGaze. OwlGaze was named because her fur/coat looked like a brown owl, like the Tawny Owl, and gaze because her eyes were quite sharp and reminded some clan members of an owls eyes. GoldStripe…he’s mostly for the WCUE game on Roblox. He has a dark cape coat with brown stripes but as the stripes go away from the cape they turn more golden. ( he lowkey reminds me of like the McDonald’s logo xD )

See I go pretty simple with my Warriors names. Shimmerpelt is named that because she has a mutation that makes it look like her fur glitters. Troutjaw is named that cause he has an underbite that makes him kinda look like a trout. Almost all of my OCs have prefixes that relate to their appearance since that would most likely be what their parents notice about them. There are exceptions like with Iceberry who was named after the mender that saved her and Talonstar who renamed himself to be Extra Cool (he is a horrible evil cat), but most are named after their appearance. Suffix usually has to do with ability (Hareleap), personality (Otterwish), or just appearance again (Badgerstripe)

    • @Milaa9987
      @Milaa9987 2 года назад +1

I totally agree, in my opinion "simple" is the best way to go. It's when you try super hard for a unique name that they end up sounding weird. For me, it's not the name that makes the cat, it's the backstory/personality. That being said, there are some great unusual OC names out there!
(also, Shimmerpelt and Iceberry are ADORABLE names!!!!)

In my story the villain is named Cloudstorm. He got the prefix ‘cloud’ because his mother was a loner living in a group, and she was white like him. However, Cloudkit was stolen, and given to the Clans, said to be a ‘lost kit in the woods’. Cloudpaw was very bratty and arrogant as an apprentice, and sometimes took control of his friend, Mousepaw, who became his mate. (for a short time)
Cloudpaw was named Cloudstorm for his fighting skill, and the prophecy in the story says, “Beware of the storm ahead”, meaning Cloudstorm.

My main's name is Dragonsong. The prefix Dragon is because she lived in a rogue group as a kit, named Dragon, but was kicked out at apprentice age for being too soft, and went in my clan's territory. She was allowed in as Dragonpaw. The suffix 'song' is due to her kind, gentle nature

  • @ghostpelt

My main OC is Ghostpelt (yes, the one who gave the name to my channel/account). She was a rogue as a kit and was named Ghost because her mother thought she was dead when she was born. So when she gets adopted into a Clan, they kept her name as a prefix. The "pelt" suffix is because she is incredibly good at hiding/hunting at night and other cats jokingly say that she's like a ghost and they do not see her until it's too late. So "Ghostpelt". I actually came up with this name years and years ago, and it just sticked. Btw she's a mostly black she-cat with some white points (ears and one paw)

I often do too much research for these names. I got bored of naming characters something like "leafspine", so I did "Quilled Brachylophus", brachylophus being a species of iguana being leaf-eating fauna. You say the best names are ones that is most likeable, and I have a thing with the names "Ivory" and "Zephyr", so names could be "Ivorymelody" or "Zephyrblood". If I have troubles with naming, I always find or give myself an outline in which I will fill, so one named "Snowcloud" can be "Cirrostratus Swarms"; "Smallmoon" would be "Deimos", or one of the smallest named moons. Then there's "Canopy Webs of Brachymyrmex Ants" I got from "Antshade". Sometimes creativity may be more fun than uniformity? For personality, I take a name like "Hazel Winter Storm" and find what comes to mind thinking of such, or describing the character's personality being something of tyrannical and an uncomfortable voice and there comes "Twisted Dragon". Thank you for such inspiration.

I had an OC just used for a roleplay called Frozentail at one point. Which was only based on appearance.
The character was a white she-cat with ice-blue eyes and grey ears, paws, and tail. I have her as a character who never talks unless it's something important and shows she cares about anyone solely through actions. Though she can be seen as a demanding cat as she's deputy and mostly only talks while sorting patrol. Others probably see her as a cold cat due to the only time she talks is basically forcing others to do something and because she rarely emotes.
She hates the thought of being leader.
Not really sure if it's a fully developed character as I had just quickly made her for a roleplay. Which ended and I barely used her aside from sorting patrols. There was a love interest side plot though.

My main warriors OC is named Thrushstrike. Her father is Tigerstar (of ShadowClan). Yes, that Tigerstar. When Tigerstar takes her from Sasha and brings her to ShadowClan, Tigerstar was going to give Thrushstrike the prefix of 'Tiger' so he could live on in her. Kinda of ironic if you think about the prophecy that follows her and her story of revenge.
Tigerstar ended giving her the prefix name of 'Thrush' because of her brown fur. She earns her warrior name by jumping into a pine tree and striking a thrush down to the ground and killing it with a swift bite. The prefix 'Thrush' means flexible (mentally); appearance of a thrush.
The suffix 'strike' means Sneaky; fierce; good fighter. So these make some much sense.

Duskrunner, who becomes Duskstar, starts his life methophorically and, sometiems literally, runnngi from his problems. however, it's only when he finally confrotns them and forges ahead in his life and gians the coruage to leave their mother and MossClan, that he truly grows and becomes his own cat
Blossomblood, later Blossomstar, was taught her entire life he'dbe nothing without her fmaily (or 'blood') and she needed her mtoher to survive. When she left her mothand formed her clan, she fianlyl elarned independance and that she could stand on her own

before naming her, she was written as soft, intelligent and fast. she has a peaceful nature and is often up early in the morning when dew starts to settle. by appearance, she is some kind of spotted tortoiseshell, but i decided to base her name off of her talents and personality. as she’s halfclan, i wanted her name to link to both windclan and riverclan - dew links to water and runner links to windclan. i feel that her suffix also links to the fast-paced and adventurous part of her personality

Ohmygosh your vids are AMAZING!! I have PLENTY OC's of my own: Newtstrike, Mapleheart, Redsong, Stormypond, Applefern, Mallowfur, Nutclaw, Milkstorm, Galestrike, Nimblecloud, and so much more! You inspired me to make every single one of my OC's, thank you so much Akira! The OC I'm most proud of would have to be Honeytail. I just love him so much! I'll give a brief explanation of his backstory: He was born far too big, and towered over the other kits. One of his sisters, Sweetkit, and his mother, Quailflower, always stuck up for him but his other sister, Sandkit, took all of their father's (Their father's name is Vixenstripe by the way) rumours about Quailflower trying to use him to destroy ThunderClan's camp. As a result of his father's fox-heartedness, Raccoonstar replaced him as deputy. The new deputy, Drippingstem, became Honeypaw's mentor and patiently taught him how to hunt with his giant size. He is technically a descendant of Mapleshade because Vixenstripe actually survived the river. Surprise! However, unlike his father's mother, Honeytail is a lot like Ghost (If you haven't read the Bamboo Kingdom series Ghost is a pure-white panda who was raised as a snow leopard); kind, extremely shy, mistrusted, all of that. He was actually based on a Warrior Cats; Ultimate Edition (A game on Roblox) gameplay that I really liked. Umm... That is not as brief as I wanted it to be so I guess I'll stop talking now lol

My main warriors oc is named SilverMeadows! This is mostly about her fur colors and the, Meadows part came from the fact that her mother wanted her be a med cat, Silver meadows, as a kit, wanted to be deputy one day, so as an apprentice, she went Against her mother and was training to be a warrior, she was trained well and turned out to be a skillful and trustworthy warrior and the current leader of the clan, Amber star, named SilverPaw to SilverMeadows, as a reflection that Silver meadows could be who ever she wanted and that she won’t take someone else’s opinion for her own role within her clan. Lastly, about 24-30ish moons passed and the current deputy, OceanRipple, had passed on to StarClan, the young Tom was killed by a badger during a boarded patrol. AmberStar had to pick a new deputy and so she called a meeting and chose SilverMeadows as her new deputy. SilverMeadows was so happy, her biggest wish since she was a kit finally came true and she is still currently deputy and is a great and thoughtful cat.
