- So we are finally getting into the swing of things here now, and still cracking down on durum. I am right by the farm seeding my favorite south farm 1/4 of land. It has alot history and is very important to me, and because that, it always gets alittle extra love 👌😆🤷🏼♂️

JD was RX 68 db's and the FENDT 1050 had the loud hydraulic whine so it was 69 db's.
I’m watching this on May 7 and see that sw SK is under heavy rainfall warning including the south farm area, expected amounts 2”-3”. Yay for Mike and family! Should help a lot if it really comes down (and doesn’t cause much flooding).
Mike, I can hear you just fine and my wife tells me all the time that I am deaf LOL
I am deaf have been using AfterShock head set works off the bone conduction . I can hear good with them. Dont cost anymore than other head sets. Can get one with a mic for talking also. Great invention before with regular in ear devices i couldnt even talk on phone couldnt hear.
Thanks for the ride Mike.
Brian need to learn the art of cloud seeding 🌨️🌨️🛩️
Thats how Dubai makes it rain on a regular basis.
Mike!!! huge fan from South Africa
drinking coffee watching one of my favorite farming tuber
Glad its pulling better for ya mike!
Man I feel fortunate to have grown up on a farm in the Mid Willamette Valley of Oregon (despite the politics) 1hour from the coastline and 1hour from the ski mountains (snowmobiling for us) and true 4season weather with no extremes.. 40/50s and wet winter with maybe a dusting of snow once or twice a winter 75/85s summer and a 20 mph wind was considered a wind storm😅 I remember my father had a uncle that had settled in Calgary BC and had a large farm/ranch northeast of the city and we would visit in the early winter after all the farming was done for us, I remember seeing those large smokestacks on all those farms with flames rolling out the tops, apparently it was them burning off the methane gas produced by chickens.. quite the sight.. That is some barren unforgiving land in an extremely harsh environment, hats off to those whom managed to tame it enough to establish multi generational farm operations..no easy feat..
Me too. Corvallis native.
Thank you for sharing.
Looks like the best moisture/seeding conditions you’ve had in ages!
Good luck
After going back and watching a few first day seeding videos in the tractors mikes had, I gotta say the John Deere weather it was the track or triple were the quietest on video, followed by the 1050, then it would be the case then the fendt two track that hydro wine was obnoxiously loud.
Great Video Mike ! 👍🇺🇸
Pray for timely rains to get youba great crop. Down on north central south dakota they hadnt turned a wheel couple days ago. Raining and raining to wet to plant.
Afternoon
I think it has much more to do with the hz frequency that the cab is letting through.
Mike great video as always...have you looked in those new john deer quad tractor like 830 some horse power. And about 80000 lbs. It would bee cool to watch you do a video driving one of those. Great video as always
Mike, have you considered the on-board air systems for adjusting tire pressure on the fly?
Morning
Mike, Having fun Andy enjoyed your video thankyou. Have a great day.👌😆
Mike,i have a question: Do you ever miss the 1167?
I feel like the CASE is actually a bit louder than the JD or the Fendt. Just my feeling, but you are still clearly understandable and if not it's time for us to start reading off your lips haha
Salut Mike magnifique tracteur articulé 580 cassé et le semoirs et la cuve arrière est bien et grand 😂😮😅😊
Hey Mike, I have got a question.
Can you please explain (maybe in a video) how you have your own land, but share equipment, labour ect..
Thanks
Hi there, fan of your videos, watching them from Belgium... Difficult to understand you due the noisy cab. Did you shut the door? 🤣
You should try the new bourgault 3335 dual shank. Second year with ours. Love it!
We are looking at new seeding options for the next couple years out, but be nice if we could cut a crop 😬
I have heard their trash clearance isn't as good?
No 2 shank drill is great but getting rid of the MRB and having your nitrogen safely beside the seed would be night and day better than 6 inches away.
@@Freefarmer533 How about the Tri-Max? lots of different options a guy could go
@mikemitchell2554 Yes would give some options. Mrb is nice at sizing straw residue.
@@mikemitchell2554 buddy are you getting any rain at the south farm from this awesome rain storm?
Goooood morning Mike
Lyke dy mesage to your shirt Fait hope farms👍
is the slippage percentage accurate now or more than last time?
DID ANYONE GO BACK AND LIST OFF THE DB SOUND RATEING OF THE OTHER TRACTORS THAT HE TESTED ???? 12:38 was when he was talkin about themz... ?? :)
HAVE A WONDERFULL EVERYTHING !!!
i heard you might get 100mm down in Cypress Hills
Do you all have your own bin in the yard
Be looking at putting in the Deere auto steer. Does that run off the Case globe or you put a Deere globe on?
I understand there are many variables when seeding, but on average, what kind of acreage does one drill do in a day? On a decent day
Will you need to add pressure back when traveling on roads?
Mike you would flip out on how dry it is in Australia
Miss Jarred in the seading video s. Is he still in the team?
Notice less hydraulic noise than Fendt.
Love your videos Mike. I’m at 72dB just watching this video. Sitting in a quiet room having breakfast.
Lol u could crank ur Volume up to 100 DB...
Hahaha sure. But comfortably I hit 72 on the couch lol.
Mike, how long would your longest pass/field be?
Mike do you always seed the opposite way that you did the previous year?
How many acres does everyone own and rent? Do a video about all of that with a map of all the area so we can get an idea of where it is when you say the farm and north and south.
South farm is basically from south of swift current to the usa border, and to the east and west.
Is your wife and son going to drill at the north farm? She knows how to get the job done
With your huge drills you need 600+ hp tractors.
I grew up with Donavan you got a hard worker on your crew
He is indeed 🙂
William is a hard worker as well.
Run higher psi in the rears than the fronts, when pulling your drill will pull the rears down and the result will be a matched rolling distance front to back and no power hop
I agree, I always ran a couple more psi in my rear 800's vs the front.
I have a question: Why are you going perpendicular to the previous rows? Are the tracked tractors also doing this? Comparison on ride?
Was curious about that also
It’s done to accurately place the seed at the correct depth. If you plant the same direction as the year before you run the risk of burring it or it being too shallow due to the drill furrows from the previous year.
hey Mikey!
why don't you use stripper headers and disc openers to preserve more moisture ?
Stripper headers don't work in all crops disc openers don't like rocks
@@Drew-in-NoDak😂they don’t have enough rocks to harm a disc drill. The area of Montana I farm in is basically gravel and softball sized rocks for topsoil. I’ve been using John Deere disc drills for 30 years with no issues. The reason they don’t use disc drills is because they would rather drag 80 ft behind them and complain about drought that go to a smaller no till drill and actually do a good job
Is it raining down there today? May6?
Great to see you going, I'm guessing you have had some rain by now givin the video is April and we are now well into May. I'm guessing your North seeding has started?? Or you are very close. Hopefully you got a good crop in both places
They’ve had torrential rains unfortunately. They’re lining up to get the last three years of rain in a couple months.
@@clearskiesranch1362 I know Mike and the South Farm need rain badly but unfortunately i think this might be too much of a good thing. They have been getting rain for like 3 days straight.. and their ground cant handle it. I hope it doesn't cause washout and reseeding.
It's definitely raining!! Love it, water laying all over the place, unfortunately as normal, everyone is about to go to 2-3 weeks behind. 😬🤷🏼♂️
Mike. Whats that control box you keep pressing in top corner of your cab??
The Main Clutch
Where is this farm? What part of saskrachmewan?
What is the length of this field?
Doesnt seem to be alot of moisture in your soil. It really seems as though Saskatchewan is turning into a desert over the last 10-15 years
Looks like lots of rain for the south farm hey?
Yeah, like alot haha
@mikemitchell2554 I was just watching the weather...it's great for you guys...but it's raining everywhere but up here
@@Northern_Farmer I saw that up north wasn't supposed to get as much, how's seeding coming? Sending a drill today up there
@mikemitchell2554 pretty dry...seeded peas 2 inches down just to find any moisture...but it's so dry right now. Grass won't even turn green.
@@Northern_Farmer Ur up close to the north farm aren't you?
Mike, for those that are half deaf after 30 years of tractor driving please buy a microphone - tractor noise is drowning out your sweet sweet voice! greetings from the other side of the pond.
he should buy a fendt 1167 again
Are you south of swift current
Is anyone in your family planning on trying out the new high HP John Deere?
Not hearing the love for the tractor Mike, it'll get the job done and at least Ashton is happy, that's the main thing.
So when are you getting the new 712 case steiger
715 quadtrac is on order
Maybe on day Mike, built in coffee makers. Any who, I work just outside of Regina, Company called Morris took over a sask power building a few months ago, they have seeders, land roller, seed carts, some other gadgets, no idea what they are. Have you ever used Morris?
I thought Morris got bought out by Riteway.
@kentmathieson1342 yes Morris went bust and Riteway bought them.
👋😊
👍
How many feet is your seeder? That's a long ways out there
84’ on a 1340 bushel cart.
MIKE !! AND CREW AND ALL YOU TOO !!!
MAY *ANY* ONE THAT HARVESTS ANY THING FOR THE BENNIFIT OF ALL
HAVE AN ABUNDANT HARVEST
and MAY THEY GET EVERY THING TO MARKET !!!
and MAY THEY GET RECORD HIGH SELL PRICES !!! :) ((OR AT LEAST 50%above inputs&watnotz ya kno drought and all that happy fun stuffz lol))
LOVE JOY COMPASSION
Deere's are louder
is that 6:00 metric time?
is there a tyre size difference between the two big tyres in the middle of the planter or is it just the camera that makes it look like that?
Last year's stubble looks like it's seeded in the opposite direction. Do you alternate planting direction every year?
On some fields yes, if we can
@@mikemitchell2554hey Mike. Love seeing notifications on new videos when you put them out. If conditions are right how many acres an hour can you plant?
It is really difficult to hear you Mike. Background noise is so loud, I don't remember this problem with fendt and jd.
I think u need to check ur hearing..

Which one of you is going to lose their tractor when the Queen and Prince come to run one?
Does anyone know how much HP he's got his tractor tuned to?
680
kilometers per hour then you just jump over to 1.5 inches.... metric or standard....pick one! Ha
why isnt he planting corn or soy beans?
Because corn and soybean aren’t the only crops in the world
Is your wife doing any operating anymore
Hi how much area do you farm
they dont say the numbers, but im guessing, Mike and his 2 brothers and dad are over 50,000 acres ive heard
60,000
Can barely hear you over the tractor
Gotta check ur hearing bro
Mike, You sound slightly subdued. Not your usual chirpy self!
Overly tired 🫣
Getting rain out there?
wow that case cab is so noisey compared to a JD its really hard to here you talk Mike.
Democrats eat at 6:00 pm. Republicans eat when their hungry.
they're
Mike IA blockage. Only way to go.
We had Agtron, that system would/could lead a guy to drinking. 🤣🤣
We have every hose monitored. Not cheap, but let’s be honest Mike you’ve spent money in a lot worst places.
I definitely have!! 😆 The problem is that I continue to do so 🤦🏻♂️
But would love every hose monitored
Youll never ever look back, we upgraded 2 years ago, got one on every hose, your more relaxed @@mikemitchell2554
You need to yell now in that noisy cab. Can hardly hear you! Not in a nice quiet Deere or fendt now!
It does seem louder doesn't it? 🤔I wonder if there's something wrong with my DB testing app, because it says it's not 🤷🏼♂️
I guess to know for sure Brian and I need to swap tractors, he's in an Rx
@@mikemitchell2554 there might be some resonance or frequency that is picking up more on the mic than the human ear.
@@mikemitchell2554I think the 715 is a bit quieter in the cab so that's another pro of the 715.
@farming4g Hey brooks, small world. Surprised to see you following Mike. How's Oreck?
@@beaviccoon470 is it? I hadn't heard that yet
Your fields always look so horribly maintained, your products must be quantity over quality...
? You’re making no sense. Explain what you mean by horribly maintained,as I see nothing of the sorts.
What kinds of fields are you looking at?
I really hope you respond to the other comments. I’d really love to know what you’re on about. Your comment is total nonsense
@@dfro7159 Not a real farmer and has no idea what they’re talking about.
JD RX was 68 db’s and the Fendt had the loud hydraulic whine so it was 69 db’s.
That's what it was!.. The thing is the Case does seem louder, but I need to get into Brian's Rx for a comparison. Brian just got moved back late last night, but now my drill is heading to the north farm! Also correction: the second, and 3rd dB tests I did while seeding both came out at 68.3... Not sure why the difference all of sudden, unless I did something wrong the first time.
