- We just received our FIRST Gen 2 CLOUDRAY S6 Clip Fan from AC Infinity this week and are extremely excited and impressed with the NEW features they have implemented on these fans. AC Infinity hasn't released any information on this new model yet so we wanted to share our thoughts with you. Since they are new and have yet to release marketing materials or photos of the GEN 2 we will update the description with a Pre-Order Link when it becomes available or when they have a timeline released for retail sales. I emailed ACI to complain about my gen1's making a clicking sound. They immediately replaced them with these gen2's free of charge. I love a company that provides this level of customer service!
Gen 2 has been amazing so far. Way more heavy duty and smooth oscillation. I like how I can target specific areas of my grow.

I have two versions of the first model. Over time they make a clicking noise when they oscillate but they work amazing. I don’t even run them at full speed just because they do such a great job
I've got 2 of the original ones, they both do this as well. Loud enough it can be heard outside the tent. Something inside the oscillation gear causing it. Still seem to work great though.
The clicking noise drives me insane
I have 2 of them in a 2x4 & they are almost as loud as the electric heater I use in that room. They drive me crazy. They started clicking after 6 months also.
Mine do the same clicking, however I am plagued with constant disconnecting from the controller 69. I have tried about everything. I also have 1 fan that came with a broken oscillating motor but I needed a static one anyway so meh. I started using another brand since I was having so many issues, maybe I will give Gen 2 a shot.
Mine do the same thing. Had a couple stop working like a year ago they sent me the first model but improved had the power cord in a different spot than my previous models. The power cord moved as the fan oscillated version upgraded 1st model they changed that
Man, I just got that fan last week and it's a little embarrassing to get so jacked over a fan. I freaking LOVE it.
Super quiet and when connected to the controller 69, having the ability to control it while I'm at work is freaking awesome. And the fan itself is serious quality. The best.
I'll wait and see how these hold up. They already got my money for two of the gen 1 fans and the oscillation died on both of those within months
The original S6 units have a 2 year warranty. My recommendation is to contact AC Infinity or the company you originally purchased from to initiate an RMA/Defect on both units.
You will get new S6 fans in exchange… this is how we were sent some Gen2’s for some of our in store RMA’s.
We are an AC Infinity Certified Retailer. Normally it take around 5-7 business days and replacement units are received… the only way this timeline is not met is if AC Infinity has zero stock remaining for exchanging defective units on a 1-1 basis.
Bottom line is get those new Gen2’s exchanged for your old originals. AC Infinity is not interested in burning customers. They have always been great to deal with for any defect issue as long as the customer comes forward and submits the request on defect units 👍

Contact them….I just received an email granting me a new Gen 2 from AC. because of the problem you’re talking about.. mine started clicking. I also bought 2 Gen 1 , but the email I just received that I replied to says they will be sending me 1. And I got that shipping email today.. good luck
The one thing all fans are missing the boat on IS the clean ability. Its all the dust that collects on the back and the front grill is always a pain in the butt to clean. To make a Gen 3 with a removable faceplate and/or type of grate cover system that is more easily cleanable now THAT would be a game changer and a cornernering of the home grow fan market!!! 🤔🤔🤔🤯🤯🤯
@knotshure6291 that was a feature we forgot to mention on both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 the faceplate can be turned counterclockwise 5 degrees to remove the cover and clean debris or dust the blades.

Even though alot of these fans do click most people do continue running them because they do work, its just an annoyance. We get it though… we all pay for a product and expect it to last forever.
In grow applications every piece of hardware has its day.
I just only hope they fixed the oscillating feature so that it doesn't stop oscillating after 8 months
Its a legit upgrade. We have been running the GEN2’s since day one receiving. Its smooth and the GEN1 design is gone. This is new and reworked to ensure long operation. That is what I see in the mechanics 🤓👍

Wow that sounds cool with a K... I purchased the extractors about 2 years ago one is a 6 inch and the other an 8 inch I have not used the 8 inch yet I bought the 67 controller then the 69 controller the blue Teeth one then they came out either the bluetooth/wifi which I want to get....
I just recently bought there 60x120 tent because my Secret Jarden of 60x120w tent of 15 years had a couple of rips and the zip mechanism broke, Secret Jarden no longer sell that tent, I was happy with it,but the new tent is a major improvement... I still have a Secret Jarden 120x120 which I have never opened in my cupboard just waiting for my big shed to put all this crap in that tent is 2mtrs high but good things come to those who wait...They have a deal here in the uk Ledgrow shop where you can get two S6 fans for £120 for one its £65. But ithink that this is the old generation.... As a few people have said cleaning oscillating fans is a batch over the last twenty years I have eaten up oscillating fans like Pacman 4 tower fans and about 6 of those whit 16 inch oscillating fam and even one of those clip on ram fans which fell of the pole and broke in half tried to fix it with Gorilla glue and after a while got so passed I threw it away and bought a Honey well fan. But it's a new year and I am gonna treat myself a bit this year, at the end of the day it's all about getting your monies worth and a tent that lasted 15 + years is good in my books...

Great company, they are replacing 3 of my gen 1 with 3 brand new gen2 zero charge. One of my 3 gen-1 was clicking, Ill put my money right back into AcInfinity in the future with that customer treatment.
How is the life on the oscillation? Have had multiple aci oscillating fans and some have literally stopped oscillating or major clicking with the oscillation function limited to a smaller range of motion on the first week of use. Others have just not lasted more than 1-2 grows.
Hope the uis port on the back does not strain the cable to much in that corner so close to the pole.
Aww not on the site yet. Glad I held out on buying more of these. I know myself and many others have a "clicking" to the motor that started rather early on. other than that it has been great; like the rest of their products.
They building up some hype first
They are good at marketing new products. The Heater unit release photo we were personally hoping was an Air Conditioning unit but whatever they drop seems to sell itself.
We don’t make these videos trying to pump any product. Videos we make are to show people whats new or to give our opinion on what we see for results/info/applications or use.
We sell alot of products we choose that make sense in our industry. We do not try to push any single product because we do not have to… we offer many choices but won’t offer anything we feel will be a defect nightmare. On our end this is work and time lost for our customers which no party wants.
We just give the details and our own opinion based on what was see.
We even discovered the new fan blade cover comes off with a small turn degree turn for maintenance and cleaning the fan blades. Thats a bonus going into the Gen2 to show our customers how to maintain the fan versus allowing it to slowly grime up and become overworked.

Let's be honest. That range setting is because they had to warranty WAY too many fans due to negative pressure in the tent causing the fan to hit the walls and wears the the oscillating gears out way too fast. Like every other one out there. That's a brilliant upgrade for those w/out high CFM kits and is a win-win.

Nice vid! I’ve had vivosun and secret jardin clip fans start making clicking noises because they keep hitting the sides of the tent. Gonna give this brand a shot since they can set how far it oscillates so it won’t hit the tent walls.
Vivosun has also upgraded their fans, two speeds and oscillating and that's all I need. I see no point to ten speeds or any of the other frivolous features of this fan.

@@gardensupplyguys I have some of the previous models of Vivosun and others mfg's all had the same issue, cheap oscillator gearing that start slipping and clicking within a month or two. Everybody seemed to be white labeling the same crappy fans. A twin pack of the upgraded Vivosun fans is less than 90 bucks CAD. If you're looking for a basic, good quality oscillating fan for your tent, you can't beat that. I think that is all most home growers need or want.
@@roywarriner8441 cheap for a reason. I swore off another vivosun clip fan from all the horror stories of their fans catching on fire.

Hi Craig, we have been wanting to pull one apart but have not done so. The plastic housing is a mold that I believe is a snap in type. Now you have me strongly considering ripping one of each apart and doing a part 2 on this video.
I have units in store that click on oscillation with the original S6 so maybe a naked barebones video of each model operating would be quite educational 🤓

i haven't come across an oscillating fan than lasts. I came to prefer non oscillating fans because of it. ACi fans do have appeal but they charge about $125 AUD for them as opposed to $16 for the ones I buy. maybe if I needed a smarter fan
I've got desk fans from walmart that I've been using for about 10 years. Even when I didn't have them in my garden, they've been just circulating basement air. You can hang them upside down, whatever. Best little $20 purchase. I got a, gen 1 fan from AC and love it with the controller 69. I'll def be getting one or two of these gen 2s

@EddyBoomJunglist the GEN 2 Manual does says in the FAQ: "Q: How long can I keep this fan running? A: The CLOUDRAY features the latest innovations in step motor technology, allowing it to run continuously for 24 hours a day." This is the only notation on motor run time in the new manual in comparison to the GEN 1 Manual where it discloses running 16/8 run cycles for maximizing lifespan and efficiency.

It has a larger neck assembly and we do believe the gear issue was one of the main issues to re-engineer. So far from what we see I personally want to meet AC Infinity’s lead design/engineer and shake his hand. For our company this just lets a better product go into customers hands to enjoy a better performing tent fan. The simulated breeze is great the controlled oscillation makes it even better. Its hard to recommend a different fan when this new Gen2 hits on all growers needs 👍

they really didn’t think it through again. The port on the back with the cable sticking out will bump into the tent. The clamp will stretch the tent behind the rod. The fan itself goes too much right and left, again bumping into the tent.
The one we ripped apart has been running without any of that jibberish mentioned occurring… 💯💯💯

Does this one make the knocking/clicking noise? I'd much rather support AC Infinity (all my stuff is ACI) but my fans are Vivosun just because they don't make that noise.
Too new to tell, but the oscillation does seem much smoother and refined. I need to cut on down the side… soon we post a new video on this !
What do these fans pull amps wise?
These fans are roughly 10-12 watt max draw at 120vac. Watts divided by voltage.
(12 watts on fan / 120vac = .1 amp)

We haven't had an official release date on our GEN 2 shipment but they will be in stock in our store in early to mid february.

Is AC dying of, do they have problems with the contractors or why do they delay the Gen2 products for over 3 months without any explanation?
My vivosun aero wave E6 has the “natural breeze” function as well. And I’ve had it like…6 months. So by you saying “someone finally put that feature in a fan” doesn’t quite fit. Ac infinity finally has the feature being built into the new fans is a better way of saying “they are catching up in the fan game”. Don’t get me wrong, the rivalry is real between ac infinity and vivosun, I myself have mixed components from both companies. I tend to lean more towards ac infinity for quality, vivosun is a decent product at a decent price point, nothing to special about it. That’s just my take on it though others have many options.

@@gardensupplyguys I did watch the last video, quite interesting actually how the difference manufacturers work out the ways without infringing on each other’s designs. And I will definitely stay tuned for the mars hydro vs spider farmer video, so far with the extra 1/2 inch in size and bigger grommet/post ac is definitely making a play in the right direction!

The designs are all different. Each has its own thing and we just show it all inside out. Quite fun to do I must say 🤓👍

$50 - $90 for an oscillating fan is a disgrace - these cost less that $10 to build - made out of cheap materials -AC Infinity really know how to rip people off.

Their tents are good but BOTH of my Cloudray fans have started making loud noises after 8 months of use. I don't recommend their fans at all.
The clicking sound is a common symptom. This is why we made the video to just let everyone know that problems mentioned are being addressed and redesigned for a newer better Gen2 design.
Which fan do you recommend that serves you best?
@@gardensupplyguys I'm using some cheap fans from Walmart now, that clicking was driving me crazy coming from 2 fans. I won't buy the upgraded versions, not worth the risk to me. Maybe if they had a trade in program for these old shitty fans I'd consider it but these things are less than 6 months old and sound like shit.
Not a fan at of the new neck on the gen 2 .. it’s the same neck as all the old Growbuds and Vivosuns .
The new neck sticks the grill out too far over the canopy
And the degree range oscillaston is a gimmick. Who’s gonna not have the tbing panning across the canopy .

Be real the fan have a lot of problems
The click sound on oscillation was the main issue. Beyond that the defect rate is well below 1% on the original S6 fans. The new Gen2 shows alot of improvements from what we see. This video was us being real from where this product began and where we see it now.
I got gen 1. Im not impressed. It will take a lot for me to pay the money for gen 2

Appreciate the input. We never look to closely at Vivosun. Its mostly an Amazon brand… Nothing against it but strongly considering cutting the sides off both model S6’s and ordering a Vivosun to do the same… this way we can all get a look inside the motor assembly/gear mech.
We do these videos to talk about what we see and respect for design/redesigns in the industry 👍 to fix problems and provide great solutions.

@@robh2421 vivosun had it out first, they also had the wireless and Bluetooth controller out first. Look into releasing dates, vivosun was also the first to put the fan controller on the bottom so the wire doesn't oscillate with the fan. Look into it.
Not dogging on ac, they make amazing products.
@@gardensupplyguys I would enjoy to watch this video of comparison. Vivosun isn't an Amazon brand but they use Amazon just like ac infinity. They are based out of China but are independent from Amazon, they came up with the wire design and 11 speed natural wind function first along with wireless and Bluetooth controllers. Ac infinity was just a computer and duct fan company until all the growers started buying the duct fans, they then came out with all this grow stuff over the last few years.
Wonder how bad these ones suck?

It’s impressive redesign is tops in my humble opinion of staring at mechanicals for decades on end with delight and wonderment or… torment…🤨🤨🤨
