Yea buddy!! I love how I get to sneak peeks from across the street before everyone else 😁😁 That’s one nice looking grey Ford over there in the background 🤪
Thank you! that is definitely what I tried to do. Check out the finish build video. You can see all the custom bead rolling I did. I added some Tarpon scales with the bead roller came out very unique.
Hey Curtis. New sub from central NC. Just wanted to say I appreciate your channel. I've watched a ton of boat rehab videos and yours are my favorite. The editing is getting REAL good brother! Loved the music in this one too. Keep it going 🤙
Would this be called aluminum welding for someone looking to learn how? Would appreciate some info on the welding you did for this boat and what equipment is needed
Yes this is aluminum welding, you'll need a TIG welded and it has to be able to weld in AC (alternating current) most machines weld in DC (direct current) and that's for welding steel or stainless steel. Hopefully that will get you in the right direction.
Thank you! There's alot of good how tos on youtube about bending tubing. My bender is a Rogue Fab bender. They have a pretty good utube channel with how tos
@@hotactioncustoms7008 Nice I am going with 1.5" sch 40 since my nephew is over 6' tall and over 200Lbs.. To give him a bit extra security. found some nice polished anodized for a decent deal. Will do a 20"x30" platform on top as per request and get him poling around in no time. Only downside is I am using a manual hydraulic bender so will be filling with sand and trying not to bark up the aluminum when i make the bends.
@@hotactioncustoms7008 , hey Curtis were ya moving to ? I hope it’s gonna be close to the water😄 are you going to have a shop or big garage to work out of to still do your builds and videos? , ( I hate moving ) 🤣

Love the boat. I'm going for a super budget build I definitely want to start out with an aluminum jon. Sick build
Thank you! Jon boats are awesome because they can be cheap and I'm pretty sure more fish have been caught out of jon boats then any other boat hahaha.
I live the look of that platform! Definitely gonna get some cool comments on the design.
Thanks you! Yes I like it alot looks super bad ass
Love it bro! My favorite platform design. Nice job man!

Looks great Curtis!! Is that pipe/tubing bender hard to learn to use? And what kind is it? Thanks

Seems hard to find info on the size pipe used on these platforms. Is it 1.5 or 2" sch40?
I used 1.25" pipes sch40.

Hey, bad ass! You're getting good at this. I like the way you skip or speed through the "duh" and only shoot the highlights.
Thanks man I appreciate it!
What were the specs on the aluminum tube you used?
1.25 sch. 40 pipe
Do you think i could put a poling platform on a 14 foot extra wide jon boat?
Yes. Just going to have to build it move over the back of the boat rather then out past the transom to help the weihg
@@hotactioncustoms7008 ok thanks you and I appreciate the fast response
Would you do one work on my boat I need my casting deck redone and maybe a lil paint job ?
PM me in either fb @ Curtis Edney or IG @Hot_action_fishing_and_fab
What size tubing?
1.25 pipe. Sch 40
🌴 hey Curtis , your poling platforms are looking great , do you make them to sell ? I’m building a micro skiff and need one ,

I have a 12 ft lowes boat would you ever consider building and selling something similar? Live in Florida, thanks
I did. But I actually moved back to MI about a yr ago.
Ok no worries. Awesome work keep up the great content!
Have you ever heard of anybody using a aluminum boat as a mold to make a fiberglass boat can you even do that.
It's would take a but but it could definitely be done. It would be alot of work lol
What would you use to make the inside of the hole slick enough to where you can pull the fiberglass out
Can you build one for me
How much to make me one? Super simple, doesn’t have to be perfect at all. Just so that I can stand on it… let me know!
You could make some money doing this
I appreciate it man!!!!
Got some filth hanging on the wall buddy.
