Carey Mulligan Failed Driving Test Five Times
• Carey Mulligan Failed ...
The UK driving test is extremely hard. We must also pass a Theory Test before we can take the practical test, and with lessons the entire thing can cost over £1,000, around $1,500. Also, if you pass in an automatic car you can only drive an automatic car, not a manual. It is sheer hell and I hate it.
Qniba Chaos same in Australia.
Do you also have obligatory driving lessons in the UK and Australia?
A Kris yes we do! I thought it was like that everywhere, it should be.
Sonja Dawn Thanks for your answer!
In the interview it sounded as if Carey had had just one or two driving lessons before her test.
Same in CH, plus first aid course and technical course. And after getting your license , you need to take 2 extra courses within 3 years. Otherwise, you lose it and have to do it all again.
she seems so calm and sweet
she should have explained how hard it is in the UK...my friend was telling me about and it is INSANE
its solid like literally 40 mins of perfect driving I failed twice passed third time
@@mohamedfaisal7125 plus a theory
That's why she flirted with her neighbour Ryan Gosling in Drive.
*ten minute stare with creepy smile*
Bro that is the best movie ever.
drive,i watched that movie..
Funny, she can’t drive and also the director of the film also can’t drive
I see what u did thereee
americans really dont understand how strict european driving tests are... they would all fail... ALL of them
yup
here in sweden its basically the same I Think?, practical and theory test, we have to have at least 52 Points out of 70 and i Think 5 to 10 questions are bonus questions that you only know if you are a Nerd and you only get 1 Point per question so every question Counts a lot. and as for the driving test it depends because every instructor is different but yeah all in all its a 100 times more difficult than the test in the US if not even more
Driving tests in Italy are torture and like 1000€
here in croatia it costs around 1000-1100€, theory test is annoying and you need to have at least 108/120 points and you have to drive at least 35h with an instructor. If you fail one of 5 (or 6) intersection question you fail the whole test (even if you have everything else correct). After that you get a driving test where one single mistake can make you fail. For example not checking ALL your blind spots before changing a lane. I passed all on my 1st try but I guess I was lucky...because I dont think I'm smart.
Oh there's also a first aid test that you must pass...
I'm glad we have such a strict rules, it makes it harder for idiots to get on the road but everyone developes their own driving style when they get into their car and just drives like they want to. Most noticable is people not using blinkers when they should and not knowing what an upside down triangle means.
Error989 my husband (from germany) ALWAYS complains how the americans cant drive and always says they should take the driving test in germany because ALL of them would most defenstaly fail..its true though lol even i have to admit that
Her voice is so soothing. I️ love it
as a 27 year old who will take the test for the first time soon, this gives me hope 😂😂😂
Gabby Quigley Good luck!
soon you will be able to drive a big truck and endanger the whole population! woho MERICA!
youre not alone sir me too
You give me hope. I’m 19 and have severe driving anxiety because of childhood trauma. I’m so worried about never being able to drive, but if you can learn at 27 that maybe I’ll be able to as well.
Good luck
Stella Bella same ! I'm 20 and I have anxiety about driving soon. We'll be alright
Don't give up. That's all that matters.
I failed today for the fifth time for the same reason, test anxiety and simply freaking out at the slightest thing. I'll pass soon, but I need to just accept my mental state as a part of my test challenge :(
And yes, Americans really have NO idea what a test is like in the UK.
It's massively more complex.
She looks 16 and sounds 45.
Tal Moore Yeah her voice has aged 20 years, in 7 years. I say 7 cause I watch her interviews from 2011 and she sounded completely different.
Aniruddha Sharma Damn wtf happened, I don't remember her sounding like this either.
I guess two kids happened. :D
I just watched an interview of her from 2011 and she sounded like a teenager there. Lol!
No she doesn't look 16
This story made me so happy. I'm almost 29 and I still don't have my license. I haven't take the test at all. I am terrified of taking it. This actually made me feel good.
U from Uk?
If it helps I passed at 29 after avoiding it for years due to driving anxiety… completely understandable - hope you pass!!
What a gorgeous woman
God I love her accent
also love her voice- very classy
I failed 5 times aswell, good to know we are all just human.
Same. Failed mine 5 times in England. 6th time lucky 🤞
Congrats!
🤞🏻 did you pass??
Omg that’s me. I can relate to this so bad.
Rosita Espinosa o rly chiquita take public transport that's what it's there for
stay off the road you hazard
i haven't even taken mine yet but I'm 18 ffs
Man so true , what she said , sometimes is not about your abilities to drive is the pressure thing
Great voice. Not only the accent, but she sounds so mature.
This makes me feel better about my driving
It's a joy to listen to her stories...
I will admit to failing my driver's test four times ...so I can totally relate LOL.
Today I failed my test for the 10th time. Gotta brush it off and try again. Bless her
ok maybe stick to the bus. Sorry
the uk driving test is HARD and its definitely due to the pressure
She has a cute smile 😊
Carey Mulligan is my favorite actress!!
Alain Bruno true
Dude you everywhere
Alain Bruno aren't you the guy that comments on every G-eazy video ? You never reply anyways....
@@jay-vc9ot mine too
Ha, Now I don't feel as bad failing it twice.
I can relate to her soo bad I failed 3 times in England. The test is just too nerve racking.
I passed my driving test on the 10th try lol
God damn, her voice is just so calm and soothing.
Marcus should write a song about this😄
Yea they let anyone drive in America #FREEDOM
Oh wait that might be a bad thing hold on :)
GUNS FOR EVERYONE! ..Oh wait thats also a bad thing
You're more likely to be seriously injured or killed by a motor vehicle in your lifetime than being shot.
on2wheels - with all the mass shootings lately, that stats might change next year.
The US driving test is a bit of a joke compared to other countries.
Yep. What's worse is that in the US everyone takes an automatic driving test because most cars are auto. After you pass, if you decide to buy a manual car, there isn't a separate requirement. 90% of US drivers don't know what a handbrake is or what it's there for. Imagine letting someone like that drive a manual!
There is a guy in Dubai who passed his driving test after 27 attempts. not kidding at all.
It's Sally Sparrow.
Michael Gibb The companion that never was.
Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck.
Her voice has changed so much ever since
I always think about weeping angels when i see her!
Carey, me too. The tests in the UK really are tough. 6th time lucky!
"You took the bus!? Real- Wow!" THE BUS, OMG!!!
This really cheered me up after failing for the 4th time lol
I failed the written part three times and the driving part 3 times. I kept over-thinking the questions and my mom was like don’t think, just pick whatever your first gut instinct is. Passed that time. As for the driving, my wheel was on the line for parallel parking and you have to be inside the line. Had to practice parallel parking dozens upon dozens of times before I got it down. Have not parallel parked once since getting my license.
I failed mine twice so this made me feel so much better lol 😂 I had an agonizing time passing maneuverability and it was so frustrating and embarrassing to be getting picked up from work at 17. Good to know other people have struggled too I’m not the only one 😂😂
oh same. how do you pass maneuverability?
i have never heard her real voice!!
i was told in UK 80% fail the driving tests
I'm rather late with a reply but it is lower usually at about half pass. The test recently changed however and nationally the pass rate was 15% for three months or so.
Apparently driver's tests in Sweden are even more brutal...
Marcus is a lucky dude
I just want a hug.
She’s lucky too! They are perfect together 💜
I failed mine 3 times got it on the 4th time with good remarks
I can relate 100%
Haha, I relate from the UK. Technically I passed my driving test 1st term - I was 17 now I’m 20 and have probably driven twice since the test traumatised me so much... 😂😂😢
Bless her.
Just passed yesterday, there's so many roundabouts in my area of the UK I was sure they would fail me
I passed first time in the UK, but I completely get the pressure thing. I've never been more scared in my life, it's 40 minutes of Hell!
I passed my pilots license in the UK 18 years and 2 months. I passed my driving test at 19 year and 7 months. I had to make two attempts at the driving licence!
I'm 30 and taking my test next week for the first time. this gives me hope
It's fun having an Australian accent in the US, it's like gold 😆
get a license here in the philippines. you dont have to know how to drive. they just give it to you if you have extra money. lol
But you cant even smoke weed in the Philippines without getting shot in the face
im smoking right now. lol
you shouldn't generalize what you see the news on tv. news are always negative, its sad but they always show you the shitty side of everything.
Magnus Catelo I guess you're right it's never just black and white but there is probably some truth to it? Like I only saw one of the presidents mad speeches and then I heard of like a 16 year old getting shot that is all
there are fuckery going on in this country. not going to lie about that. but its waaaaay more good than bad. the shitty things are just highlighted more because it sells more.
Took me 3 times to get the UK license, the examination system is outdated
Why "drive" when she can get Ryan Gosling to do that for her. That was the first movie i've seen she's in.
I love her voice.
You can actually drive in the UK on an international licence for a year then you have to take a UK driving test. Her insurance would likely be through the roof but still...
you don't have any idea how you make me feel better about my self by saying this!!
Failed myself twice before getting mine at 18. First time I was so cocky I went to the written exam without studying, thinking the questions would just be logical and the answer would "make sense". Here, in Romania, you were supposed to answer 22 right to pass it and I only got 18. So that did not go well.
Second time, I studied for the the written test and passed it, but on the course, started off next to a decommissioned rail crossing that had construction panels going alongside where they were removing the rails, and behind one there was a traffic light, which, obviously, I missed. In my panic, after realizing, I get on the brakes and stop. On the tracks. This is like.. 50 yards into the test. The officer looks at me, the light, the tracks, starts checking things in his test sheet. Tells me to just make a left at the intersection and pull over. I make the left turn, he checks another thing, we pull over and he asks me to step out of the car.
He said he had been testing people for over thirty years, but never had to penalize anyone in such a short driven distance, and said he hoped I'd never get a License.
To pass, you were allowed 20 points worth of errors, and some things are instant fail. Running a red light? 21 Points. Stopping on a rail crossing? 21 Points. Shitty left turn? 6 more Points. I think the last one was overkill, but a job's a job.. And I'd thought my written test failure had been embarrassing up to that point :|
to be fair the UK driving test is a lot harder than the american one and its pretty common to fail that many times if not more tbh
Great actress and great looking suit
Carey, I hadn't ever seen you, but yesterday I watched "Driver" and fell in love with you.... gorgeous.
So I have to go America to get my damn license 🤣
So it's as harder to get a drivers license as it is to get a gun, and it's pretty damn easy to get a driver's license.
Figuring out bus routes is really hard🥲
I feel like I'm hearing my own story through her ... unreal !!!
I am 31 with 2 kids and failed my driving test when I was 9 months preggo. My youngest is 17 months and I'm yet to book for another test! Hopeless 😩
bubblegum0987k I am same age as you and just failed my fourth go, it is all stupid faults though. Makes me feel bad seeing teenagers passing right away
bubblegum0987k Update: I passed 5th time and after justing turning 32 yay!!
I find the bit about her husband adorable, but UK must be super difficult or something from the comments.
In the U.S., I messed up twice and couldn't parallel park to save my life, yet I still passed. (1 point away, though.)
And usually they take pity on you here if you're pregnant, or are at least more lenient. I told the test giver that my father passed away a few weeks before the test and I think I got immediate pity.
She is just lovely…
i also failed my drivers test 5 times. (permit, not actually driving)
Ok, but where is Gael's interview?
Driving around the block to get the test - she took that from the show with Craig Ferguson!
I aced it first time. Just thought I'd share that amongst these UK test hard luck stories.
Marcus has his hands full with that one...
True story. UK driving tests are harsh. I was failed for unwittingly turning on the A/C, whilst turning on the heater, and leaving the A/C on. B*****d!
Careyyyy I’m with you. I’m so glad. 😭 I didn’t even pass the lesson.
here before my theory test. don't want to fail and waste money
I passed
OMG I totally related to her about the failing you driving exam tons of times thing
i can't stop watching this why
i was wondering where the hell she was
Timestamp 2:19 Queen - Under Pressure (Official Video) - RUclips
in the US you learn to drive on an automatic. I mean what is there to learn exactly?
*B A E*
I just failed today in Brisbane, Australia
She doesn't need to drive when she got this guy with a scorpion jacket as her driver.
I can definitely relate. Took me 3 goes but I was so lucky the 3rd time
Amazing speaking voice. Best S's and T's around. This isn't a weird comment at all.
I Iraq I taught a 21 yo army guy (I'm Navy) how to drive on a Deuce and a half truck.
Yeahhhhh......it took me four tries.
So she... took a mulligan?
I think I failed 3 or 4 times, but eventually passed. Trial and error! Do what you can and eventually you'll succeed!
She sounds like a 45 year old woman that has been smoking for 20 years but I love it.
I absolutely love Carey. 💕
love her voice
Holding both US and UK (Irish licence - right hand drive) stick not auto, the US driving test is a piece of piss...just as Carey says.
I love her.
I know she's a Brit and I'm a Brit but Carey Mulligan is adorable!
If only Kimmel would shut up long enough to let her speak.
I failed 3 times...I get her. haha
I failed 8 times and I am totally devastated and hopeless I don’t know what to do🤔🤔
My parents taught me to drive at age 10. A standard shift 1969 blue Dodge pick up. Three on the tree, no power steering, no power brakes.
These days I hate driving. It used to be fun. Traffic congestion has made it a nightmare. I know I'll have go back to it someday, but I'm putting it off as long as I can.
jorge duenas, we moved from the suburbs to a farm and citrus grove. We were at least 30 minutes from the nearest hospital. It was before 911 existed.
It would have taken at least 30 minutes for an ambulance to reach us once a call was placed from our land line, and another 30 minutes to get to the hospital. So well over an hour for full emergency services in case of an accident. If one or both of my parents were injured, I had to be ready to load them into the back of the pick up for a mad dash to the hospital.
"Three on the tree" refers to a standard shift transmission that is attached to the steering column, with three gears and reverse.
Hope that clears up any confusion. Cheers!:)
My lovely Batsheba!
Her voice is so much diff in her movies
Stewie and Bryan rated her 5 in Hot or Not. Shes hot tho
he was probably stealing from her, how good do you have to be
