Her and Cate Blanchett could have a contest of who has the coolest voice.
YES!!!
Yes! Yes! Her too!
And winner wud be CM.
Also accent
And Kate Beckinsale
Carey Mulligan is so underrated, she's not only a great actress but such a funny and witty guest in talk shows
Not anymore
She. Is. So. Classy. Please record audiobooks, and voice act.
She has a British RP (Received Pronunciation) accent. It's a British accent that is mostly used by people in upper class parts of London, actors/actresses, politicians, and diplomats. Although it's most commonly taught to non-native speakers, only around 5% of the British population are native RP speakers.
THE MORE YOU KNOW 🌈
her and Tom Hiddleston reading a book together .... just imagine
Ditto to your comment, Lora Z.
Her look and voice could be transported from the victorian era. Add to that her immense talent and omg.
She has just narrated the audiobook of The Midnight Library. So, so good.
Ahhh. This is why she is in the new Maestro movie. Bradley was a fan of hers all along.
How absolutely wonderful.
She has an ethereal quality about her.
She's so charismatic. I watched her interview without batting an eye. One of the greatest actress in the world if someone asks my opinion. I hope she will get an Oscar one day.
AGREE completely i thought she was a good actress then i watched a youtube vid' about her career... AGREE with u
"Were you bleeding?"
"I wasn't bleeding."
"Aww"
"I know."
And at that very moment , I died.
Carey has gotten better at the talk show game. Her wonderful sense of humor and abundant charm were on full display here . This was a great interview.
I love her voice. And she seems so much more relaxed and open in her interviews now.
How can anyone not absolutely adore her?
I saw her in Girls and Boys, she was absolutely amazing. One of the best plays I've seen. Film should give her more powerful roles like that!
Is it musical theatre?
thank you she is amazing live as well as in film she should get an Oscar...or something
The play is available on audible - shocked me to my core. Incredible play.
she's lovely
I still choke up and cry watching Never Let Me Go, talent all around and seems so nice!
i always have a crush for her, she is a lovely lady.
this woman is PURE class.
Man, I can listen to her talk and laugh all day...
She's always been very friendly, lovely and fun in interviews but she seems so much more confident and feisty almost now too. I've adored her for years and years and I was crushed when all "Boys and girls" tickets were sold out :( I wish I could have seen her in London
She is beautiful and smart, kind and she takes on real issues and speaks for women.
I absolutely adore her
I'd pay for Carey Mulligan to voice my Siri.
Carey, you're a gem and delight. Thanks for being you.
I've never purposely had the intention to ever see a play. But right now, after seeing this, I really want to see this Carey Mulligan play.
Can't wait to see her and Jake Gyllenhaal in Paul Dano's first movie as a director, Wildlife.
Easily one of my most anticipated film of the year. :)
Loved the book as well.
Devious_99 It got slighted for globes though. Idk how. She really turned out in her performance in the film.
Classy, eloquent and smart.
Wow, what an amazing person. I could listen to her talk all day.
Bradley Cooper is an awesome guy!
She could easily do Laura Bacall. How her face moves, similar energy and openness, doesn't take herself too seriously. Charming and funny. All she needs is Bogart and Howard Hawks.
i can't explain the exact reason but to me she comes as such an original and inspiring person not only as an actress but also as a human being. how can someone be so calm and lively at the same time?
I just want to say I saw Girls & Boys on my own a few weeks ago on a trip to New York, and after it was over I wandered out of the theater in a daze and sort of walked in circles for about a half an hour. That show will change you. Please go see it.
Also, people were definitely snapping and it was... a whole thing.
Wait why were they snapping and at which parts??
thank you she is amazing live as she is in films' i hope she gets an Oscar... or something
and then came Maestro
I love Carey’s voice!
What a lovely woman
She's come a looong way from her interviews with Craig Ferguson, BUT she'll always be Sally Sparrow... =)
Lmao I'm surprised someone remembers that
DON'T BLINK!
I always scroll down to see if anyone's left a comment about that.:) I wish she'd had a stint as a regular companion. Btw. no Martha hate!
That storyline could easily have been a trilogy of movies it was so good. It was a duo (or was it a trio) of separate episodes though, so they did at least squeeze more out of it.
Wow I knew I recognized her from something. She should have been a real companion
Carey in "Drive"
What a good interview. Stephen got a lot of interesting anecdotes from Carey. They just kept coming.
I haven't seen any of those movies people know her through. She'll always be Kitty Bennet and Bathsheba Everdene to me
Just listened to on Audible, and is as funny as anything! Brilliant script. Marvellous acting. ❤️
She's a brilliant actress
Listen to her perform Girls and Boys NOW on audiobooks. Funniest and most intense performance ever!
And now (year 2021), they're going to be starring in a movie together!
She is adorable!
yes absolutely she should get an Oscar... or something
I could listen to her voice all day everyday.
She is such a sweetheart.
She is all kinds of adorable
I thought she was amazing in Suffrigette! (Spelling?) I loved it!
Carey and Bradley should star in a movie together! I thought, it was very sweet! He took her to Urgent Care! And she said, they could care less about me! They were too busy gushing over him! I brought them a gift! LOL! She's one of my favorite actresses!
Funny thing. Im here after Maestro trailer with Bradley and Carey.
That curtain was fate.
I've been wanting to see that movie. It's their turn to win their Oscars, next year!
@@tanyam5471 Lol Bradley cooper said he saw her as Felicia during that play, thats why (In Graham Norton)
i like her voice... so classy
Could listen to her for life! lovely voice
She does an excellent job in Shame
HeikkiP I was wondering what your thoughts were on the siblings relationship in Shame? Were they both abused as children? Was it incest? I couldn't figure it out-- they never clarified it.
miran X Something happend in their childhood definitely, but that's what is really cool about the story that it doesn't clarifie anything. Each viewer has their own version of it
i don't like it. i need clarification
Its purposely ambiguous to allow the audience to relate, which would be lost in specificity
Great film!
She's got a lot more interesting and talkative since her Craig Ferguson interviews.
I'm surprised Stephen Colbert didn't know what "knackered" meant. My grandparents used it all the time, and my mother sometimes. I guess it's regional here in the US, or it's generational.
It's Sally Sparrow! She is FABULOUS!
I just love her attitude.
Lovely, classy, talented, humble Carey. ❤️
She is delightful.
I like her so much. I don't like most of her movies but, still, she is lovely and incredibly naturally charming. Also, I think Drive wouldn't have worked that good without her. No way.
She is SCARY FABULOUS ✌🏼🌷
She’s a delight
I'm in love with her voice...
Steven, you liar! We know her as Sally Sparrow on Doctor Who!
We know her as Ada Clare in Bleak house.
Very awesome and classy lady. Never let me go is one of my favorite movies, it stays with you for a long time. But I enjoy watching Carey Mulligan in everything.
Glad to see Sally Sparrow is doing well
Ah yes Bradley Cooper is a gift, indeed ♥️😍🔥
“I could feasibly say anything.” 😂💯
God I love her accent! It's like music to my ears. I need to find myself a British husband with an accent like hers.
I love her so much.
She needs to be the Mary Poppins.
emily blunt's going to be great tho!
Job's taken... i.giphy.com/media/7NzcMsJRKcBKE/giphy.webp
great interview! Thanks for not interrupting her!
Wonderful in everything.
"knackered" .... really, really tired (dead on your feet) beat, worn out, exhausted
Really surprised Stephen had never heard it before.
And now she’s playing Bradley’s wife in an upcoming film.
Carrie is lovely, as ever. Interesting how she mentions the speed of urgent care in the US compared to UK’s NHS. Colbert let that go rather quickly, didn’t he?
And yes, that is where 'knackered' comes from - when your horse is no longer fit for work, you send it to the knacker's yard. :-)
Good interview and the other segments were hilarious. This was the best show of the year, in my opinion.
I've never actually seen Carey Mulligan in anything but doctor who. god sally sparrow was such a good character.
she's friguing cool!
Lovely voice :) I’d gladly sit through a 2 hr play. She’d deserve an intermission at that point.
She is so adorable ❤️❤️❤️
All aboard the Rocket Raccoon express
The Siri intrusion 😂😂🤣
She’s pretty awesome. Makes her more attractive. Hmm
Damn, how meek and charming. Lovely, humble woman. Underrated.
I just deeply love her. ♥️
Carey appeared on Craig Ferguson four times starting in 2009. They are on RUclips and worth watching.
Excuse me known as sally sparrow....
Sally must have gone in to the future. I wonder if a doctor was in the audience?
Love her!! Such a talented and charming woman.
Omg this interview is gold
When Hollywood decides to do a movie about rosamund pike only Carey could attempt to mimic her voice.
"Knackered" comes from the practice of knackering injured, old, or retired horses. Stripping the flesh, boiling the bones for glue etc. The "knackers" yard also.
Carey Mulligan, who you know from the Bleak house! Ja nuo hymykuopat on edelleen ihanat 🧡
SHE IS A GODDESS
That's it. I'm smitten. So in love.
Same. She's perfect
very lovely
She is so cute 😍
I actually know her from Pride and prejudice.
But I did see the her other movies too.
She was actually great in Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey 10-12 years ago.
I love her to bits
I love her voice
Watch her in Craig Ferguson’s show. Those episodes were a blast
I'm paralyzed with happiness!
Lol -adorable!
Love you Sally Sparrow!
Lol Stephen you're the old one if you didn't nowadays lots of people snap to say "Respect, i feel you"
I never knew she was british. Lovely woman.
It was the phantom. He dropped the curtain.
