Chicago firefighters union criticizes city overtime, demands more ambulances

Members of the Chicago Firefighters Union spoke out Monday, accusing the city of spending millions on overtime pay for paramedics instead of spending it in the places they need help.

I find it very disturbing that there is no trauma units in Chicago. I think there’s only one that’s crazy. You have numerous people getting killed on the street and you gotta take them across the city just to be saved. That’s why everybody dies.

Ambulances and paramedics get worn out going on Narcan calls ALL THE TIME. Make a junky unit to handle all those calls.
