- A story of how my friend Jordan and I made two custom benches for seating around the Nakashima inspired Conoid Maple Burl Slab Table. I've made live-edge benches in the past and this is the Wm. Walker Co. design.

WELL. WELL .WELL! I see your wounds didn't heal from last time! Well consider the feud BACK ON! #KATZMOSESWALKERFEUD
Bring it! #katzmoseswalkerfeud
Pbbt. Amateurs both. I could take a shaving that would blow both of yours out of the water! I won't though, because I don't want to embarrass you. Yep, that's it 😅
@Just Some Kraken With Internet Access Life!
@@wmwalkerco A healthy rivalry only pushes the two parties to surpass themselves. Keep at it guys, you are both excellent woodworkers, and both an inspiration for me.
Looks amazing beautiful work
Happy New Baby Boy Jordan!!! OutStanding video My Friend👍
Outstanding as usual brother👍🇺🇸
That grain! 👀
I once saw a youtuber create a bench and it a thing of beauty, this is a story about that.
I can't really express how much I enjoy your story telling and visual presentation. Thank you for sharing your perspective on woodworking and craftsmanship.
Very Nice!
Did you like those Mirka sanding shots?
Love your videos! Amazing job on the benches and like I said in the table video the look on the clients face says it all!
Thank you! When a client reacts like that, it's always the best part of a build.
Congrats, Jordan! I really dig the playing card trick.
Poetic. Beautiful. Classic.
Thank you!
Spot on with the perspective and gorgeous build - as always
Another great mini documentary film. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful build and message, Will.
Thanks man!
Nice conclusion to the overall project. Congrats to Jordan. Stay safe!
Inspiration personified. Thank you.
Thank you!
1: For me, it takes a lot of trust to have someone help me in my shop. I love woodworking and I take pride in everything that I build so naturally it's hard for me to find someone that I'm comfortable with in my shop. I'm glad you have someone you can trust with your wood... Hehe
2: at 5:38 when you perfectly set the cross board into the respected joint, I literally quivered lol.
First video I watched of yours and it was fantastic. I love the style you had with this piece as well as the story that came with it. Keep up the great work!
I am very lucky. Jordan makes exquisite furniture in his own right so it's easy for me to trust him. I would absolutely have a hard time trusting just anybody.
You are the ... benchmark for good story telling!
I was hoping you would show the bench build! So beautiful! Congratulations to Jordan on being a new dad!
Beautiful!
These benches and the table are amazing! You two definitely do good work together. We’ll get through this. Having excellent quality videos like this will definitely help.
It’s tough not seeing your friends that you would usually see multiple times a week. Stay safe.
That's a trip I just built a similar table and bench set last year, mine was acacia. Very nice!
Great job on the PW spread! I was excited to see you in the magazine!
Nice video ! what is the tool you used on your table saw at 02:19 ?
It's called a Dado stack or a Dado blade. I'm not sure where you are located but I believe they arent available in Europe.
Good job! Love it!
Will, what brand of dado blade are you using. Looking to get one.
I use Amana from Toolstoday.com
@@wmwalkerco Would you recommend it?
Absolutely! I've using it for a couple years no, no complaints, and it comes with shims if you need them to match a certain thickness within a few thou
Love your videos! You make such amazing pieces! Also you're not far from me, I'm about an hour and a half from Richmond.
In which direction?! Are you in Tidewater or the Piedmont?
@@wmwalkerco Tidewater. I'm in Portsmouth VA.
Ah yep. I'm right by Charlottesville
@@wmwalkerco O ok. I have family in Staunton
Can you please explain the playing cards? I didn't capture what you meant.
This particular deck, the cards are about .005" thick. So when making half lap joints, to get the two pieces to mate flush, any adjustment you make to the blade height will be doubled since you are cutting twice. A playing card used as a shim is a lot easier to make incremental adjustments rather than adjusting the blade height up or down.
Hard to say which feud is more compelling, the Ryan Reynolds/Hugh Jackman feud, or this one. Tough call...but I think if one of you did your next video in a Deadpool mask I'd have to give you guys the nod. :)
Great job on the benches (and the table). Beautiful project! Love it.
I did it too. This is what I used Woodglut designs for
