- How Many Steam Sheds Dose Carnforth Have?....... Steam Town
Todays video is technically part 2 of the steam sheds in carnforth where I follow my shed directory book from 1965.
The first video was the midland shed link below

My uncle worked on railway for thirty five years as a guard on trains to London and other routes based in Swansea station he was. he retired about early eighties, so thank you for keeping your interest in these trains so you started your interest then as child.😮nice photos of you as a lad ,you have not changed😊.that look at the black trains they keep hidden.😮
Brought back many happy memories of times spent. @ steam town so thankyou. Use to enjoy driving lower down the road that was tidal, though not quite like Sunderland Point
Glad you enjoyed it
Another very interesting video- thanks TE!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So many memories at Carnforth..
The class 33 at 13:09 is Class 33/0 33030 easy to distinguish as only 2 33s gained DRS Blue one being 33025 which is now in WCRC "Maroon Dip" and 33030 which is still in DRS Blue "030" is or was used as a spares donor to keep 33025, 33029 & 33207 running
Great to finally see part 2. Like you said it always seems to have lots of crap around. Sad to see the buildings ect just being left to the elements. I remember the open day well and enjoyed having a closer look around!
Glad you enjoyed it! It took me year to edit but sometimes when you have creative mind takes long time for it to surface again.
Well lot stuff at carnforth will fall down I reckon.
They have cleared lot stuff out last week or so.
@@ThomasEdward I have seen on passing on the train that they have had a clear out!
TE got shed bock ... fantastic book thanks for your info
Hi TE I was going to have a look around the heritage centre this Saturday but it is closed Saturday and Sundays but there is a model railway exhibition on the 29th and 30th of April.
Hello TE!! Another brilliant video!! 🙌
You're the best!
Glad you and your mum liked it!
Makes sense to have stuff lying around at heritage depots because you can't get everything off the shelf these days unless made from scratch, think i went for a wander down that lane year's ago when we went camping in Silverdale up road 😁
Great video. I attended Steamtown in the 80s 👍🏻
Very cool!
Great video. Shame, existing sheds are suffering from the same problem. Unless Carnforth has got future plans in saving what's there then this perfect example of a complete loco shed and yard is threatened with further deterioration which would be a terrible shame.
One of my favorite films bref encounter
Dogs are a good judge of character
Sorry I missed this. Remember it well . Came to Carnforth from 1966 with my Ian Allan Shed Book and disappointed cannot go round. Probably because the total shed is unsafe and WC want to keep it under wraps. Enjoyed it but was a little sad. Well done. Where are you as I cannot see any new videos? Geoff
I’m currently stacking videos up on patreon lots to see on there I can tell you!
Once got enough come back on here I don’t like rushing each week on videos like good stack to go through.
I remember using the footbridge to access Steamtown when it really was Steam Town - Peter Beet and the Lakeside Railway Society and the french and German locos
Great blog TE! Have you got a drone? That would give us some great aerial footage. DING!!!
Thank you! No I sold it because don’t like flying them.
It's a shame many the sheds and stuff are collapsing
The coaling tower is Grade II* listed - so it's regarded as a very important structure. But that doesn't mean that work has to be done to maintain it, and it's starting to look a bit uncared for.
Yeah it will fall down I’ve seen so many grade 2 listed stuff just fall down because they don’t want anything to do with it.
The shed was already crumbling when i used to visit in the early 80s.
Sad to see concrete structures in such a state.
Totally agree!!
One of my favorite films breif encounter spelt wrong lol😂
Everything is spares there they have loads of everything it's a great site if you can visit it if you get the chance cheers
