I’m rocking a FX6 & FX3 combo & I LOVE IT!.

I filmed a wedding yesterday with my FX6 & I had a secondary video guy shooting in two smaller Panasonic cameras. A guy approached me for a job just because he liked how “professional” the FX6 looked even though I was doing the same kind of filming the other videographer was doing.
It’s such a wild thing with perception, but honestly it’s like using a Tesla to drive Uber
Really thankful I found this channel and video. It's really great to get opinions/perspective for someone who is actually out there doing the freelance/gig work and can talk about how gear performs in the madness of contract work. I've been sitting on my A7SIII and pondering upgrading to the FX6 sometime soon and this video did a great job articulating what I can look forward to. Thanks for making it man! Thanks ! I appreciate it alot ! I also have an fx30, but I don’t want to be out here lying about how I use my gear for views, it’s an amazing b cam or even an a in multiple scenarios, but the Fx6 is my daily and for more reasons than this video haha
i upgraded to FX6 from an A7S iii recently and while i still adore the A7S, the FX6 has me truly in love. it is a true cinematographers camera. that side grip feels like it was made for my hand, and the body design of it alone is worth the upgrade. the FX6 and A7S play very well with each other and make a near perfect kit for me. the ND filter is the cherry on top. it is so awesome how it works. and even more than a bump in image quality, i’m getting a big bump in color quality. colors straight out of camera on the FX6 are noticeably better when shooting SLOG3. s cinetone is almost identical but SLOG3 i’m noticing a decent difference. the A7S and FX3/FX30 are insane cameras for the money though and the A7S paved the way for me to be able to buy the FX6. so happy with my setup rn. sony is bulletproof lately

Is the difference between the quality of FX6 and a7SIII due to the noise reduction in the FX6?

Great video, man. I just switched to the Fx30 from Canon last week. Honestly, the fx30 is a great camera for me and where I am in my journey atm. Learning Sony has been an adjustment, but I appreciate that they add more features that professionals use to help us learn earlier.

I need a B Cam to my fx6 and technically the fx3 is the ‘right’ choice. I’m slowly getting on-loaded to a docu series that’s targeting Netflix and fx6 was their camera requirement. So I’m glad I have it but it would be nice to have a smaller option that can fit in with their timecode, data rate and codec needs. Plus it’s hot Af here in Fl and I can’t have it overheat 😅

I just got a used Fx3 for $2700 US. I was planning on getting an Fx30 to compliment my a7siii but I couldn’t pass up on that fx3 deal.
Now I sold my a7siii & will use that money to get a new fx30. I think the fx3 & fx30 combo will be killer.

Excellent video and comparison, as usual. Financially, I am looking at the Panasonic S5ii as my next full frame camera, in large part because Panasonic's skin tones tend to be the best straight out of camera. But, when I can afford it, I am definitely looking at the FX6.
In the meantime, I have subscribed to Victor's channel. Interestingly enough, I noticed that I have already watched several of Victor's FX30 videos, most likely seen when I was researching the FX30 and/or after getting it and looking for inspiration.

Super 35 is for filming the standard. We use RED S35 and FX30. Prefer S35 to FF. Don't have any problems with low light and noise with the FX30 super clean actually. We shoot sometimes at night in Toronto and is amazing. Plus it has 26 mpx for stills. Also the 6K sensor is awesome. This new apsc sensor is amazing.

Great video. I definitely been on quite a few bigger jobs as of late as a second shooter and the person I was helping is all cinema. Definitely made me think about my setup and where I want to go with my craft. I’ll be getting something this year. Don’t know what yet tho
RED Komodo, C70 and FX6 are all great starter cameras into the cinema / high quality video space. Just take the one that fits your style

I just got an FX30 last week (which is also how I found your channel) and I'm excited to earn my way up to a full-frame Sony camera, but I'm not a fan of the bulky size of the FX6. It is frustrating that the appearance of bigger cameras = better videos to people outside of the field.
It’s an unfortunate reality we all face as we move up, I’d suggest renting if you’re ever interested!
FX30 is a great B or C cam. If you’ve got an FX3 and FX6 then a cheaper FX30 just rounds it all out and provides more opportunities. Having at least 2 matching full frame cameras is ideal for me though..

As someone coming from the a7IV, now owning the FX6 since last week it's weird how much better the image looks, even tho its not 7k oversampled and the a7IV is the "newer" camera. But the FX6 has something to it, especially when it comes to greens and skin tones which is very pleasing and organic.

What’s the Sony fx6 top handle issue you were talking about? I haven’t heard about it before and was trying to figure out if it was a lack of mounting points or something?

Why not buy the FX3 instead of the FX30. They would match much better. And don not forget the variable ND, which is a major advantage, of the FX6. Who goes from a Full Frame FX3 to a APC FX30? This makes no sence. The bodies are the same but Full Frame has the better picture.
I disagree, colour wise I can get them both fairly easily , plus I can us the extra money for other things 👍🏾

@@svenh.6792 it’s a redundant overlap in my situation, full frame lenses work on the fx30 albeit a bit of math , if I need width I’d just use the fx6, but tbh 24-30mm is pretty average for me so a 20mm on the fx30 as a bcam works , and the price difference I can buy a wider lens if I needed
